Chapter 461: Clear Memories
A Sailer comprised of Monsters, such was one of the many reasons why Wang Ling and the others managed to cut through the line. Of course, the white jade from the First Sword helped them quite a lot, but fear had a factor in the decision.
Wang Ling took a deep breath as he finally got to step into the ground of the Celestial Spirit Realm, "It had been a long time." Wang Ling said, smiling.
"The thickness of the Primordial Qi here really never fails to baffle me," Roan said as he sensed the thickness of the Hellish Qi.
"It wasn't like this before you know." Wang Ling said to the baffled Devil, "The world back then was only mostly comprised of a pure qi. There was a time when we had to connect to different worlds just to get a different kind of element into our meridians."
In the past, Cultivation was very difficult. A cultivator from the Celestial Spirit Realm would have to connect to a different world with another kind of qi just to dye their own. Though the Realm had a special kind of qi that's invisible to the eye, none could harness it as it was reserved to only the members of the Primordial Races.
[The power of this world had long been tainted by the outside world was the fight against the Emperor of Death completely changed this world?] Wang Ling asked as he turned around to the man from the Sword Tower, "Your name, Alta, was it? This is my first time in the Celestial Spirit Realm, where do we have to go in order to reach the portal leading to the Origin World? Is it on the Red Lands?"
Alta tilted his head, "Red Lands? Oh, does this Noble meant the Holy Ruins? Head North and when you see the ruined walls and"
"I know where it is, Master. Thank you for the assistance but I will be able to guide everyone from here on. You can return to your posts, oh yeah, do me a favor and send this to the Tower." Chang Ping threw a piece of paper to Alta.
"Thank you, Alta. Oh yeah, try not to say anything about what you saw here not even your family, for the next two decades at the least. Try to keep it to yourself, else you will face the consequences, now, goodbye." The masked man in white left a cryptic message for Alta.
The six weirdoes left, leaving Alta to finally heave a sigh of relief. Though Alta felt the need to say something, the sensation of their killing intent had long been integrated within him. His shivering had yet to stop even now. He just shut his mouth as he watched the mysterious group disappear into the horizon.
He looked at the piece of paper, and when he did, his face, suddenly changed, "A-a crimson sword insignia this is the symbol of the Sword God!?" Alta was shaking to his core and his eyes turned to the direction where the six disappeared. Alta's heartbeat wildly after realizing the truth. But with it, he finally understood the man in white's words.
Wang Ling was moving quickly, he looked to his left then to his right before sighing at the change that had occurred. Vast forestry and tall mountains he did recognize. Carved up valleys situated afar, and scorched lands, it was, foreign.
"Time really does render anyone speechless." Wang Ling laughed, "Chang Ping, what happened to the continents, has anything from the past remained?"
"Other than the central Regions, the surrounding lands had been sunk. The land of the beastmen, elves, and humans has been turned into an archipelago. The Empire and the Kingdom where we came from, all of it had been turned to dust not even ruins remain. Even the Frost Domain, the Desolate Domain, and the other domains have been rendered to nothing but a mesh of destruction left by the Great Fight that occurred."
Wang Ling silently closed his eyes, "Is the entirety of the Red Peak Mountain, destroyed?" a question that was outside Chang Ping's expectation.
"I do not know such a mountain. Even when I lived in this Realm before, I didn't visit much of any land had no refutable swordsman or something that's connected to the Young Master."
"Is that so..." Wang Ling stopped moving, he looked over at the direction of the Frost Domain and felt an itch in his heart. He could head directly to the Origin Lands now and not dawdle, but something else mattered to him, "I'm going to make a detour, is that all right?"
"Yes is something the matter, Master?" Chang Ping asked seeing how shaken Wang Ling looked. Though his expression was hidden, Wang Ling's body trembled, still. Chang Ping grew worried, the air around Wang Ling changed.
"Roan, can you use at least three pair of wings? I want to head somewhere tsk, I made the wrong entry to this world." Wang Ling disappointed about something only he knew.
Roan did not question Wang Ling's intention, he spread out three pairs of wings and then held onto Wang Ling's shoulders, "Where to, All-Father?"
"We're going around the Continent, do not slow down until I tell you to."
"I understand." Roan did not hesitate to move quickly; a sonic boom echoed one after the other as they moved faster than what Wang Ling could ever reach with his cultivation. The others also followed, they released a portion of their sealed cultivation and managed to keep up.
Chang Ping hitched a ride with the twins who didn't mind helping her out. Wang Ling had Roan move round and round the realm, as he did his best observing the land, he was searching for a landmark, and then, after the fourth go-around, he found it, "Stop!"
Roan followed and Wang Ling finally felt the pressure on his body. It was painful, but, he didn't really care because about three hundred meters away, a mountain filled with Crimson Flower Tree.
The mountain was striking to the eyes, as it was the only crimson in a field of white snow. But it was not only that. Wang Ling saw the Crimson Flower Tree that had reached roughly 400 meters in height.
The mountain that used to blossom with hundreds of Crimsons Flower Tree had now become nothing more than a pot for the abnormal tree on its peak. The roots of the tallest Crimson Flower Tree in existence devoured an entire mountain.
Wang Ling looked around and then, he took a step. He disappeared and ten breaths later, he and the others had reached the top of the Red Peak Mountain.
He stood atop the roots of the tree.
"Is this the Red Peak Mountain you speak of, Wang Ling?" Yuan Qing asked.
Wang Ling nodded, "Indeed it is." Wang Ling moved closer to the base of the tree.
"What is this tree? I haven't heard of it before." It was Yuan Ming's turn to ask.
Ignoring Yuan Ming, Wang Ling touched its base and then jumped backward so he could kowtow to the ground three times.
"A memorial tree, for my Master and my brother and sisters." He finally gave an answer.
Wang Ling sat cross-legged and then brought out a jug of alcohol, "It had been a long time, everyone."
Before, Wang Ling would visit these peaks with a heavy heart, and every time he would see grimace and image of the dead trying to claw at him. They seemed to him as though they were trying to drag him to the depths of a pool of blood.
But now, as Wang Ling closed his eyes, he was finally able to see the truth. The view was hidden behind the guilt within him.
Wang Ling lowered his head, and felt the hands of his brothers and sisters holding onto him letting him know they were with him, and then finally, the hand of his master ruffling his hair like he always does.
'It's good to see that you're finally free.'
'Yes... master.'
When Wang Ling raised his head, a soft smile blossomed seeing, how his master and everyone else was around him even though they were nothing but figments of his imagination.
[It is nice to finally be able to remember them.]
