Chapter 49 Perhaps This Was Love

Chapter 49 Perhaps This Was Love

Oliver Walker knew that it wasn't easy to regain his wife's trust, but it should not be too difficult to start!

He would never allow his mother-in-law, wife, and daughter to continue living such lives!

Mary Grimm was a soft-hearted, kind woman. Otherwise, she wouldn't still be married to Essex Davis who lied to her several times.

She also wouldn't have allowed Emilia to bring home an injured Oliver Walker and even allowed her to marry a poor young man.

From the start, they had no idea why Oliver Walker was injured.

In the eyes of the Davis family, Oliver Walker was a poor, common young man. They were never snobbish people.

With so many misunderstandings between them, it was hard for them to trust Oliver Walker!

"It's not that I don't want to give you any chances!"

Emilia said coldly, "But, the Davis family will not leave us alone.

"Once William Davis learns that Olivia is getting treated at the hospital, do you think that he will allow us here?"

William Davis was her cousin-brother, the young master of the Davis family.

He played a considerable role when she got kicked out of the company.

Ever since she was young, she had been talented, and she was gifted in the business world.

She revived the Davis family from the dead multiple times and brought it to where it was today.

Due to how great she was, it brought along jealousy.

Sometimes, she even wondered if the case about her father taking money from the company was merely a scheme—simply an excuse to kick her out.

Since this was a huge company, it wouldn't be difficult to come up with something like this.

Plus, she was a woman. She was merely the youngest daughter of the family but also the smartest. Therefore, she ended up being the CEO of the company.

That was when it brought fear, and everything else happened accordingly.

Oliver Walker comforted them, "If William Davis dares to cause trouble for us, I will teach him a lesson.

"I will take back everything that the Davis family took from us!"

Did he care about them?

Obviously not!

If he already finished settling things back at home, he would have stomped on the ground that belonged to the Davis family.

For the past 8 years, they were definitely the reason why his mother-in-law, wife, and daughter lived such a terrible life.

He had a mild temper, but he never had the habit of being nice to his enemies.

Forget about his family who would never be able to get past this, he wouldn't be able to let go of it personally as well.

"Instead of wasting your time here with all this talk, why don't you get the invitation first?"

Mary Grimm finally spoke, "Don't forget that Olivia Walker is your daughter."

No matter if it was her or Emilia, they did not have any expectations from Oliver Walker.

They were only saying this so that he would leave.

"Of course!"

Oliver Walker quickly answered, "I will go right now. Just wait for me, and I'll bring back dinner as well."

He knew what his mother-in-law and wife were thinking, but he had to make sure that this was done right so that their relationship would improve.

He would then naturally grow close to his family.

As for the invitations, he was the one who distributed them. They should already be printed by now, and he would be able to collect them soon.

He could have gotten James Floss to do so, but he didn't because he wanted to buy them food personally.

These foods were making him feel as if there was a fishbone stuck in his throat.

"Don't worry."

Mary Grimm sighed, "He would leave and stop disturbing us from now on."

Emilia nodded her head, "Definitely!"

She was aware that Oliver Walker would never get his hands on the invitation, but she still felt hopeful.

Perhaps this was love.

Even when you know that it was impossible, you would still hope for a miracle.
