Chapter 50 Your Father Is A Hero
Chapter 50 Your Father Is A Hero
The mother and daughter sighed as they continued their dinner.
They weren't hopeful about the meal that Oliver Walker had promised.
However, none of them noticed that the argument earlier had woken up Olivia.
She mustered up some courage before saying weakly, "Grandma, mummy….I believe in daddy. He will come back for us.
"He is a hero! He will never abandon us!"
The little girl's words were soft, but as they rang in the room, Emilia and Mary Grimm became stunned.
They never wanted Olivia to meet Oliver so that they could still protect Olivia's fragile heart!
They didn't want to crush Olivia's dreams!
But….she already knew about it!
Olivia knew the truth!
There was a slight change of emotions on Emilia's face, but she didn't want to answer this. She quickly changed the topic as she opened another lunchbox and forced a smile. "Are you hungry?"
"Look! Grandma made you some fish soup."
It wasn't a big deal for them to have such simple goods, but her daughter had just finished surgery, and she needed the nutrition.
Fish soup was best for helping her wounds recover.
However, there weren't many fish inside the lunchbox. In fact, it was the cheapest type of fish that was found in the market, and there weren't many nutrients as well.
"Mummy, I'm not hungry!"
Olivia spoke firmly with her pure eyes shining brightly, "I want to wait for daddy!"
She finally understood why that uncle looked so much like her father who appeared in her dreams!
She also realized why that uncle gave her a feeling akin to fatherly love!
This was because he was indeed her father!
"Olivia! Listen to me!"
Emilia was already looking sick. Her heart ached, but she was still trying her best to suppress her emotions as she said to her child, "He….is not your father.
"Your father is a hero.
"He is still fighting in the frontlines in Indiana. He..."
As she continued, she started choking on her tears.
She didn't know what else to say.
For years, she had been protecting Oliver's image as a hero.
But….she didn't think that things would turn out this way!
Olivia answered cheerfully, "But…daddy is a big hero! He even brought back all those medals. They were shimmering and glistening! It was beautiful!
"I have never seen..."
Before Olivia could finish, Emilia's emotions were already at their peak as she screamed, "Enough!
"How many times have I taught you that little girls should never lie? Don't you understand?"
Emilia assumed all of these were lies.
Even if Oliver did show Olivia those medals, this man was still a liar who almost convinced her. Why wouldn't a young girl like Olivia fall for his lies?
Olivia noticed how angry her mother was, and she quickly lowered her head, "Mummy… I'm sorry!"
She wanted to say that she wasn't lying.
However, she didn't want her mother to get angry as well.
...
In the Davis Mansion, located at the place where you could see the best view of Colorado, the architectural designs of the building were remains from the ancient dynasty.
It wasn't a repurposed mansion. It was indeed an ancient mansion that was passed down and cost millions.
This was also a sign of how rich the Davis was!
There was a courtyard inside that was brightly lit.
As one of the most essential companies in Colorado, they were invited as well to the health talk the next day.
William Davis, who was listening to his men, looked surprised as he asked, "You're saying that Emilia managed to get surgery booked for her daughter and she's staying at a VIP suite?
"Isn't James Floss aware that I have banned Emilia?"
