Chapter 1546 Free City (3)

Chapter 1546  Free City (3)

Stepping inside the ancient ruins located below the free city, the first thing Xuan Hao noticed was the space around him changing. Indicating that he had stepped into a completely independent space not much different from a secret realm, outside of the feeling that he was still on the same continent and could use his current comprehension in the Dao of Space to teleport out of the place if he wanted to.

The main limiting factor when it comes to doing something is that it would take at least half an hour or longer to establish a safe enough passage to move through. Not to mention, he had no idea if trying to forcibly leave the ancient ruins would trigger some kind of ancient defensive mechanism inside of the ancient ruins, so he decided not to try and forcibly leave the ancient ruins unless necessary.

Outside of the change in the space that seemed to have transformed the ancient ruins into an independent space, Xuan Hao also clearly felt countless demon beasts lurking in depths of the ancient ruins along with wandering cultivators who had already entered the ruins before him.

Among the demon beasts and wandering cultivators that he could sense from where he was standing at the entrance to the ancient ruins, he already noticed more than a dozen in the Dao Seed Realm.

Unfortunately, even though he could sense the difference between demon beasts and cultivators in most situations, the ancient ruins seemed to be masking the presence of those in the Dao Seed Realm. Making it difficult for him to figure out if the other party was a wandering cultivator in the Dao Seed Realm or a demon beast in the Dao Seed Realm.

Considering that he had learnt from the Explorer Union earlier on that there should only be around five Dao Seed Realm cultivators that they knew about inside of the ancient ruins and the fact that he could at most sense the outer edges of the ancient ruins from where he was standing, it was clear that most of the Dao Seed Realm existences that he could sense should be from demon beasts.

However, what was more terrifying was not these Dao Seed Realm demon beasts hidden inside of the ruins that he could clearly sense from where he was standing. Instead, it was the inner region of the ancient ruins that he couldn't sense in the slightest, seemingly blocked by some kind of barrier that made it impossible to peer into the depths of the ruins while standing outside.

Even worse, from what he had learnt from the Explorer Union about the ancient ruins, the wandering cultivators in the Dao Seed Relam were most likely to be found inside of this inner region, as the opportunities found in the outer regions of the ancient ruins were of little help to them.

To make an already bad situation far worse, the inner region of the ancient ruins was also a location that was deemed dangerous for anyone below the Celestial Immortal Realm according to the Explorer Union. In some cases, even posing a certain degree of danger to those in the Celestial Immortal Realm the closer they got to the Core Region of the ancient ruins.

In this kind of situation, though he should be safe even inside of the inner region with his current strength, there was still a certain level of danger involved in entering the place.

As for the core region… He had no plans of entering that place, as it was considered deadly even to someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm.

Not to mention, the Dao Seed Realm cultivators exploring the ancient ruins would limit their movements to the inner region in most cases. Only ever risking their lives entering the core region if they were at the end of their lives and could only continue living by finding an opportunity to break through to the Celestial Immortal Realm.

Of course, it was not just wandering cultivators who would come to seek opportunities in the ancient ruins, but also people from the Fleeting Cloud Empire, though they did come together in groups for safety whenever they showed up… And as far as he was aware, there shouldn't be anyone from the Fleeting Cloud Empire currently present inside of the ancient ruins.

The reason for this was rather simple, as the Fleeting Cloud Empire was currently far too busy trying to keep itself alive to send crucial Dao Seed Realm cultivators into the ancient ruins.

If there was anyone inside of the ancient ruins from the Fleeting Cloud Empire or other major powers who might have snuck inside the ancient ruins to look for opportunities, it would have been someone coming alone to avoid unwanted attention.

In other words, it shouldn't be a problem for him even if he ended up encountering someone from another major power inside of the ancient ruins. In the worst-case scenario, he should be able to kill them if needed without the power behind them finding out. After all, it was well known just how dangerous the ancient ruins were and wouldn't be that surprising if a Dao Seed Realm cultivator died inside of them…

Shaking his head as he thought about this, Xuan Hao began examining the outer part of the ruins that he could easily look through with his divine sense without any real problems outside of possibly alerting the Dao Seed Realm demon beasts and cultivators inside the ruins to his presence.

Whoosh~!

Roooar!

Rooar-!

Roooooaaaaar!

In the end, as his divine sense swept through the outer region of the ruins, he was soon met with countless terrifying roars as the Dao Seed Realm demon beasts inside of the ruins felt his divine sense sweeping over them.

However, due to the clear difference in strength between them, they couldn't properly track him and just ended up going on a rampage in the part of the ruins that they were in, causing no small number of wandering cultivators to turn around and escape in the direction of the path leading back out of the ancient ruins. None of them daring to stay behind when all the Dao Seed Realm demon beasts in the outer regions of the ancient ruins suddenly began going on a rampage for seemingly no reason.

At the same time, Xuan Hao also became aware that none of the Dao Seed Realm existences that he had first sensed in the outer region of the ancient ruins were cultivators. All of them were demon beasts, who were now throwing a tantrum running around destroying everything in sight after being provoked by his divine sense.

"Looks like I will have to go to the inner regions if I want to find any of the wandering cultivators in the Dao Seed Realm…" Muttering this to himself as he ignored the chaos caused by the demon beasts he had provoked only seconds earlier, Xuan Hao took a step forward as he easily traversed the distance between the entrance to the ancient ruins and the inner region of the ancient ruins in a few steps.

From what he could discern, there weren't really any spatial restrictions in place in the outer region of the ancient ruins. Making it extremely simple for him to traverse the outer region of the ancient ruins.

Unfortunately, the same could not be said for the inner regions of the ancient ruins, as outside of the clear divine sense restriction in the inner regions, there was also a subtle spatial restriction in place.

Although the restriction in question could be broken with little effort, Xuan Hao had a feeling that doing so could potentially trigger some kind of ancient defensive mechanism in the same way he thought forcibly leaving the ancient ruins would.

So, with that in mind, he decided on traversing the inner region of the ancient ruins without relying on the Dao of Space to travel.

Luckily for him, he had already comprehended the Dao of Light and had learnt a movement technique based on the Dao of Light. Meaning that his overall speed would easily surpass that of someone in the Middle Stage of the Dao Seed Realm even without the use of the Dao of Space. Allowing him to stay safe in most circumstances inside the inner region of the ancient ruins.

The main problem that he faced came from the fact that he found himself unable to sense the location of any Dao Seed Realm cultivators after he stepped inside the inner region. At most, he could sense the location of someone a few thousand meters away, but to find the Dao Seed Realm cultivators he was searching for, he would have to personally look around the inner region for them.

"How troublesome…"

Even though this shouldn't be too dangerous with his current strength, Xuan Hao still felt a bit annoyed at the prospect of searching through the inner regions of the ancient ruins without the help of the Dao of Space.

After all, the ancient ruins were by no means small and could easily take him months to search through.

Then again, it wasn't easy to recruit someone in the Dao Seed Realm and who knew, he might even be lucky to find them when they were in a life and death situation. Making the prospect of recruiting them to join the sect easier…
