Chapter 1783 Tower Master's Visit

Chapter 1783 Tower Master's Visit

Chapter 1783  Tower Master's Visit

After leaving the Alchemy Tower, Yuan brought the woman back to the homeless boy, who was sitting by the street.

"M-mother!"

The boy's dispirited expression immediately brightened upon seeing his mother. He stood up and rushed over to Yuan.

"Why is she sleeping? Is she okay?" he asked.

"Yes, she'll be fine. She fell asleep from exhaustion, so she'll wake up after resting a little."

Just as he finished saying that, the woman opened her eyes.

"Where am I…?"

"Mother!!!"

"Ah! Son! Am I in heaven?!"

"Of course not!"

Yuan smiled and said, "Don't worry, you're alive."

"Huh? How…? I swear I was inside the Alchemy Tower… And who are you?"

"I don't know what happened to you, but I found you outside the Alchemy Tower," said Yuan.

"Outside the tower…? Was that all a dream?" she muttered in a dazed voice.

"Thank you, big brother. I knew I could count on you," said the little boy.

"No problem. Here, take this." Yuan handed a few spirit stones to the boy despite knowing that it was a pointless gesture, as they were simply created by the Stairway to Heaven.

"I will never forget you! Let's go, mother."

The boy and his mother bowed to him before turning around and walking away.

"So this is how it would've felt if I actually saved her in time before…?" Yuan muttered with a regretful expression on his face.

In Tian Kai's life, he'd investigated the Alchemy Tower a little too late, and that woman had already been turned into a pill. As for the homeless boy, he was heartbroken to lose his mother, and he disappeared somewhere after Tian Kai gave him some money, never to be heard from again.

Meanwhile, on the top floor of the Array Tower, Liao Tian was conversing with the Tower Master.

"This is a rare occasion, Tower Master Liao. What brought you to my Array Tower?"

"I am looking for someone who recently joined your tower," he said.

"I see. You're looking for someone. But why are you looking for them?"

"He has something that belongs to me," said Liao Tian.

The Array Tower's Tower Master raised his eyebrows and said, "He stole something from you?"

"Well, something like that."

The Array Tower's Tower Master proceeded to look at the information inside his badge.

"Indeed, we had a recent join, and he was recruited by Array Master Wan Qing."

The Array Tower's Tower Master summoned Wan Qing to the top floor a moment later.

Once she arrived, she greeted them, "Tower Master Gao, you summoned for me?"

"Tower Master Liao here has a few questions about the Array Master who recently joined our tower," said Tower Master Gao.

"Array Master… Yuan?"

"When you were with that person, did you see him wielding a large sword?" Liao Tian asked.

"No, I did not."

"Is that so? Then where is he right now? I need to speak with him as soon as possible."

"Actually, he left the tower and went to the Alchemy Tower almost as soon as he joined us," she revealed, dumbfounding both Tower Masters.

"The Alchemy Tower? What does he intend on doing there?" Liao Tian asked.

"He's probably going to join them too since he also has the Martial Tower and Cultivation Tower's badges."

"One individual joining four towers? But why would a thief even join the towers in the first place?" Tower Master Gao inquired as he looked at Liao Tian with a doubtful gaze.

"It's complicated," Liao Tian shrugged, refusing to elaborate further.

Seeing this, Tower Master Gao didn't pursue further. It was none of his business, anyway.

"Since he's at the Alchemy Tower, I'll go ahead and take my leave now," said Liao Tian as he suddenly stood up.

"He should be returning soon, though," said Wan Qing.

"It's fine. I have some business with Alchemy Tower's Tower Master, anyway."

Soon, Liao Tian left the Array Tower and made his way to the Alchemy Tower.

When Liao Tian arrived at the Alchemy Tower, he was warmly welcomed by the people there, who were still completely oblivious to their Tower Master's death that had recently occurred.

"I'm here to speak with Tower Master Xu. Is he available?"

"The Tower Master is currently in seclusion. Perhaps I can be of help," said one of the higher-ranking Alchemists there.

Liao Tian nodded and explained the situation, "I am currently looking for a certain individual. I was told he was coming to the Alchemy Tower to join you guys."

"A new recruit?" The Alchemist looked at the log and said, "But we haven't had any new recruits for over ten years."

"Then he must've failed to join the Alchemy Tower. Did anyone named Yuan try to join recently?"

"No, we haven't had anyone trying to join for the past month."

'Perhaps he hasn't arrived yet? There's no way that woman from the Array Tower would lie about something like this,' Liao Tian thought to himself.

"I understand. Then I will go speak with the Tower Master in the meantime."

"But he's…"

"I know, but so what? Is this the first time I visited unannounced while he's in seclusion?" Liao Tian sneered as he turned and made his way to the teleportation formation.

The Alchemist could only stand there and watch Liao Tian do as he pleased. After all, Liao Tian was a Tower Master and a good friend of their tower's Tower Master.

Moreover, the Alchemy Tower's Tower Master was a very understanding individual, and he wouldn't blame them for Liao Tian's forceful behavior.

Sometime later, Liao Tian arrived at the top of the tower.

When he stepped out of the formation, Liao Tian was assaulted by a pungent stench of blood. However, he barely reacted and continued to approach the closed doors, almost as if he was used to the scent.

He knocked on the door and shouted, "Hey, old man, it's me. Open up."

"..."

Silence.

Liao Tian didn't find it weird despite the lack of response. He simply knocked on the door again a few minutes later.
