Chapter 117

117 Chapter 117: The mysterious cat

While everyone was stunned by the absurd strength Alex just showed, Alex too was stunned. He didn’t even put the Kill attack at full power. He controlled it to make sure he didn’t get hurt, yet he did this much damage.

<> Alex thought inwardly.

He turned to meet the stunned gaze of everyone behind him and he felt awkward.

“Sorry, I reduced my power to the minimum yet I made such a mess of this place... I apologize!” Alex said calmly with a slight bow but his words sent shivers down their spine and made them even more uncomfortable.

Did he just say he was holding back?

What the hell?

Is this guy a monster?

That explains why they said he left Cherry half dead after their battle! This guy’s strength if he goes all out should be somewhere around the B ratings!

He is truly blessed by the gods!

.....

Countless thoughts raced through their minds but Alex didn’t bother with them anymore. He simply ignored them since he has already apologized and walked toward Melissa.

“The cat please” Alex reached out and Melissa frighteningly gave up the cat.

Alex didn’t think much about her odd behavior and began heading to the next floor. Since the elevator doesn’t work, it also meant they have no choice but to take the stairs.

Reaching the second floor they noticed a sizeable portion of the building had crumbled to create the rubbles that sealed the hole at the ground floor.

“The view is nice... the ventilation is good, all that’s left is safety... we need to deal with all those vines... I think we should split up...”

“Noooo!”

Everyone screamed cutting Alex off immediately.

“Don’t worry, Blaze and I will handle it... you guys focus on setting up camp...” Mr. White said hurriedly and dragged Blaze away.

They didn’t even give Alex the chance to reply.

<> Alex screamed in his mind but didn’t voice out his complaint.

Without wasting time they pulled out the tents and set them up before gathering all burnable items and placing them at the center of the tents for the campfire.

They worked most of the day and by the time they were done, it was already nighttime.

Alex crawled into his bed only to see the cat was wide awake now. It was too weak to get away from Alex but its eyes showed how wary it was of the human.

“You need to eat something... you lost a lot of blood and need to recover” Alex said as he pulled his backpack over.

He pulled out a backpack and pulled out a pack of uncooked steak. He tore it open and cut off a few small pieces before feeding it to the cat.

It ate slowly but Alex patiently waited, feeding it calmly. He could hear sounds of chatter outside and laughs but he remained inside and focused on feeding the cat.

Strangely the cat kept eating until the entire steak was gone, stunning Alex. Even he cannot finish this amount of meat in one go. He looked at the cat strangely but simply assumed it was too hungry after losing so much blood.

He pulled out a glass bottle of milk and poured it into a soup plate and watched the cat lick it. During this period the cat would occasionally gaze at him with a weird look on his. It looked like it was trying to find out Alex’s true intentions.

He just pulled out a pack of biscuits and a bottle of water. He ate and drank while pondering on whether to call Tracy but soon decided not to call.

Alex slowly lost consciousness and slept off without noticing.

Alex woke up only to find the cat sleeping soundly on his body, he rubbed its head gently waking it up before stepping out of the tent.

Leaving the tent, Alex was stunned to see almost everything in ruins but his tent was unscathed.

He was stunned as he saw the black walls due to flames and mutant beast corpses

“What the hell happened here?” Alex walked toward his teammates.

They gazed at him strangely and the cat on his head even more strangely.

“How the hell could you sleep through all of that?” Blaze asked with a disturbed look on his face. Alex noticed every other person had such a look too.

Mr white stepped forward and explained everything that happened. Apparently, the campfire and the loud noises and laughter attracted mutated beasts. A fight broke out but strangely all beasts avoided his tent like a plague.

No one knew why but they all suspected it is no coincidence. Their eyes were pinned on the cat standing on Alex’s head with a proud look on its face. It seemed as if it felt 46201,? as they told Alex of its actions.

“So what you are trying to say is that this cat is not as normal as it should be?” Alex said as he pulled the cat off his head, holding it while looking at it strangely.

The strange Gray cat had beautiful green eyes. It stared back at Alex with an expectant look on its face as if it was expecting something.

“Did you stop those beasts from attacking my tent?” Alex asked making Blaze and the others choke on their saliva!

What the hell is this?

Why would he question a cat? And what sort of reply are you expecting?

But what happened next made their jaws drop and their faces pale as if they have seen a ghost. The cat meowed and nodded in agreement! It didn’t deny its actions.

This left them wondering if Alex is some sort of cat whisperer or if the cat is just able to understand human languages. No matter what the answer was all of them gazed at the cat murderously, it looked like they would pounce on it at any moment.

“The first to launch an attack at this little guy will die by my hands” Alex said coldly while rubbing the cat’s belly.
