Edge of the Apocalypse

Chapter 1061

Chapter 1061: Tallinn Aisha

The wind blew from the ground and hit Allen's face, cold and damp.

"If I were you, I wouldn't be standing in that kind of place." Edward said indifferently. The two of them were at the edge of one of the blocks. There was a stone fence built here. Every ten meters, there would be a stone brazier carved on the stone fence. Of course, it wasn't as big as the two braziers in front of the arch, but it was better than the number of braziers. One could imagine that when all these braziers lit up, the entire city would be illuminated by bright flames, and that scene would be indescribable in words.

Alan stood at the edge of the stone fence and took another step forward to reach the void of the abyss. There was a dark blue halo floating below, like a shining river beneath the city. However, Alan did his best and could not see anything, except for the light ribbons that twisted like auroras.

At the edge of the city, there are some platforms that extend into the void. The platforms are large and small, and have different functions. On some platforms, there were wooden lifting appliances, on which Allen could see booms and coiling ropes, which looked like the inhabitants of an underground city were harvesting something from the mountains and abyss.

Alan flipped over the stone fence and shook his head. "Let's go. There's nothing here except some unknown tools …"

"My lord, my lord." Young Abel ran over. Alan stretched out a finger to his mouth and made a silent gesture. Abel hurriedly covered his mouth and said softly, "Miss Lucy invited you over. She seems to have found something."

Alan smiled at Edward and said, "Let's bet that the city was built by the people of Adahua Planet."

Edward shrugged his shoulders and ignored it. Abel smiled and looked at the two of them. The youth followed behind them, but he seemed to be attracted to something and suddenly stopped. He walked over to the stone fence and poked his head out at the edge. The wind from underground blew across his face, so strong that the young man thought he was going to be blown up. He subconsciously reached out to support the stone fence. He did not expect that this section of the stone fence was probably in a state of disrepair. He forcefully pushed the entire section of the stone fence outwards and collapsed. Abel lost his balance and almost fell. One hand grabbed his back collar in time and carried Abel back.

The fragments of the stone fence crashed into the abyss outside the void. The sound traveled far away, and only after a few seconds did it disappear. Ellen shook his head and said, "What are you doing? Be careful, everything here is older than your ancestors. Most of them are very fragile." josei

Abel lowered his head and said, "I'm sorry." Raising his head, he hesitated, "Sir, I think I saw something just now … I'm not sure, but it should be a creature. It can move, and its speed is not slow."

Alan and Edward exchanged glances. The latter pulled the youth over and said, "Perhaps it was Ian who said Neanderthals."

Abel trembled, "Those monsters that eat everything?"

"There shouldn't be anything else here. Anyway, it's better for us to be quiet. You don't want to wake them up, do you?"

Abel shook his head.

Alan looked at the abyss before turning around and leaving. After he left, a wind blew up from the ground, blowing a stone down from the edge. The stone rolled down the uneven mountain below the city. Only after rolling down several hundred meters did it get stuck in a crack in the stone. Blue rays of light still floated in the ground from time to time. In the dark blue halo, a hand reached out from the shadows on one side of the mountain.

The arm was covered in mud, as thin as a stick, with dry skin wrapped in bones. A slightly deformed palm spread out and grabbed the stone. Then a pair of eyes rolled out from the shadows. It had earthen yellow pupils and a brown eyeball in the middle. She narrowed her eyes and looked up. Suddenly, the arm retracted into the shadows like lightning, and the eyes in the shadows closed again.

The caravan rested in front of a temple square. In this underground city, there was a temple every three to five blocks. Temples are usually located at the highest point of the block, and their symbolic significance is incomparably obvious. The temple the caravan was currently in was undoubtedly the largest of the blocks they had passed by. Not only did it have a plaza, it also had an altar, and there was even a row of ancillary buildings on both sides of the main temple.

Alan walked towards the stone steps leading to the main temple. Each stone step here was made of flat bricks half a meter wide and ten meters long. However, due to the erosion of time, these stone steps, which used to be flat, now had crisscrossed cracks. Alan came to the entrance of the temple, where a stone tablet was erected, and Lucy was crouching to the side watching. Not far away, Adele sat on the stone steps with her sniper rifle in her arms, while Laura and Nelly stood behind Lucy.

"What did you find?" Alan asked.

"This city is a product of the Golden Rose Age." Lucy said confidently as she swept her hand across the base of the stone stele, where the rose pattern was engraved: "From the moment I entered the city, there were rose patterns in many places. It is noteworthy that the petals of the ordinary rose pattern were five, but there were seven of them. The seven-petaled rose was the symbol of the Great Empress …"

"But the more direct evidence is these words …" Lucy gently touched the words floating on the surface of the stone stele. "Yes, they are ancient characters from Adahua Planet. I learned them in the library, so I can't read them wrongly."

"What does it say?" Alan was mentally prepared. After all, there was the King Snake base and the Blood King's tomb. He was no longer surprised to see another ancient underground city built by the people of Adahua Planet.

"It's just a poem in praise of the Rose Empress. There were many poems like this in that era. However, it's mentioned here that this city is called … Tallinn Aisha." Lucy added: "It means a psalm of God."

"Tallinn Aisha, a beautiful name." Allen nodded and looked at the ancient city in the darkness. "Then did it mention why such a beautiful city became like this?"

Lucy shook her head and said, "Maybe we can go somewhere else."

A moment later, they found an incomparably large crystal wall deep within the temple. There were relief patterns on the crystal wall. It was a girl with her eyes closed and her hands crossed. The girl's gentle facial features were lifelike, and every fold of her dress reflected different shades of texture under the illumination of the fire. Below was a shaped rose, the middle of the bushes low and high on both sides, neatly and symmetrically patterned.

This crystal wall was embedded on the wall of the temple, looking like a crystal door from afar. Lucy reached out and gently slid over the rose reliefs, sighing, "This is the Arnold Crystal, which we call the Soul Crystal. In the age of the Golden Rose, scholars discovered that the Arnold Crystal possessed a vast amount of information storage nodes, and that certain stimuli could cause subtle changes in the interior of the crystal …"
