Edge of the Apocalypse

Chapter 1068

Chapter 1068: Ominous Omen

The pillar of wind split into two, and a frost wind carrying blue ice scraps blew past Allen and the people behind him. After the frost wind, the ground first froze, and then clusters of ice spikes rose. It was as if an ice crystal forest had appeared on both sides of the crowd. The Mountain King warriors looked at each other. They didn't dare to imagine that if it wasn't for Ellen slicing open the wind pillar, they would have become a statue of ice.

After the city-shattering saber light slashed open the wind pillar, it still brazenly and fiercely advanced. This time, the ice wind let out a shocked hiss. The reptile quickly turned around. It didn't want to risk its own head. Unfortunately, Bing Feng's body was too long, avoiding his head, but the saber light flashed through the root of his long tail. Ice Wind let out a series of sharp cries, and his voice was filled with pain. Its long tail covered in bone spurs was sliced off by the blade light, and blood splashed everywhere.

Ice Wind was so painful that his limbs were scratching about, and the square was filled with noise. Alan didn't dare to rashly attack the crawling reptile. After Ice Wind dug up the spikes, the dust gradually disappeared. Edward raised his hand and pointed in the direction of the dust. A whirlwind blew the dust away out of thin air. There was no figure of Ice Wind inside, only a long tail.

Ellen was dumbfounded and had a new understanding of Ice Wind's cunning.

A battle came to an end.

While the soldiers were resting, Allen handed over the equipment he had taken from Jeltes to Regis and the others. After they put on their new armor, Alan muttered, "Let's go." Shawn and the others got into the carriage and left the temple, bypassing the cave dweller's corpse. Ice Wind was pushed back for the time being, but Tallinn Aisha was still not safe. To deal with the Neanderthals and Ice Wind, or even recapture Tallinn Aisha, they needed to send troops to suppress them.

For the time being, Ellen didn't have that kind of strength, so it was better to leave early. Moreover, he had obtained quite a lot of equipment and a batch of Iron Sharp Warriors in the underground city. This trip was already worthwhile.

Lucy looked at the city in the darkness and sighed softly. Alan walked over to her and took Lucy's hand. "We'll be back," he said. "I promise you, you'll fulfil Jerez's last wish."

The young girl smiled and looked at the red-armored warrior not far away.

Seeing that she was still joking, Alan knew that she was temporarily relieved and helped her into the carriage with a smile. Edward also walked to his carriage, but accidentally mixed it with the caveman corpse on the ground. He staggered and quickly maintained his balance, but the box containing the Tallinn gems fell to the ground. The gem rolled out of the box, emitting a cold aura and a pale blue glow on the ground.

Alan happened to be by his side, so he picked up the gemstone and put it back into Edward's box. "Are you going to take this to the imperial capital?"

"Why not? There's a cold crystal vein underground in Tallinn Aisha. It's a treasure trove. But it's hard for us to mine by ourselves. Don't forget that this is in the North. We need partners, and this gem will play a vital role." Edward closed the box, patted it, and walked to the carriage.

Alan shrugged his shoulders, thinking that this fellow was really obsessed with the Tallinn Gem. Before leaving, he looked at the cave-dweller's corpse. He wondered why Edward tripped over a corpse.

The caravan left the temple, but the temple's two rows of braziers were not extinguished. A moment later, a shadow appeared under the plaza and Ice Wind poked his head out of the shadow. As it looked in the direction the caravan had left, images of the Tallinn gemstones kept appearing in its mind. The reptile's eyes gradually gushed with rage, especially when it saw its broken tail lying on the ground. Its golden pupils almost spat out flames.

It twisted its head and blew out a gust of cold wind in the direction of the temple, blowing out the flames in the brazier.

Darkness descended again.

"Oh, no!"

Before dawn, Prime Minister Nabott sat up on his big bed. The underwear on his body was wet with sweat, and Nabott had a terrible dream. A nightmare, for him, it had been a long time since he had such an experience. He could no longer remember the details of the dream, but he still remembered some things. For example, the lingering smell of blood, and the heat of the flames. The banner of the empire in his dream burned brightly, and malicious laughter echoed in all directions. However, he couldn't find any helpers, and finally woke up from his shock.

No sleep at all.

Nabert got out of bed and stepped barefoot on the bedroom floor. It was already spring, but it was cold in the north. The chill did not recede, and the ice on the floor was like ice bricks. The Prime Minister lit the oil lamp on the table and lifted the thick curtains. Outside the window, there was a ray of fish-white in the northeast sky. However, the sky was still dark, the stars dim, and there was a faint red light. He simply walked to the balcony of the bedroom. There was no wind outside, but it was very cold. Nabott could not wait to look at the night sky to the north, and could not wait to put on a cape of his own.

The northern night sky glowed with flames in indigo, as if flames were falling from the clouds. Large amounts of flames were faintly visible, like roiling red war flags, and like flowing blood. Nabott felt his heart beat violently, his heart shrouded in shadows, and he couldn't help but recall the scene in his dream.

Ominous omen!

The Prime Minister was so sure that his fingernails were pinched into his palm and a blood red cloud appeared.

After dawn, Nabott left the mansion in a carriage. In the carriage, the Prime Minister poked out the window. It was dawn, sunny and cloudless. It was a rare good day. The most important thing was that the sky was blue, and that depressing cloud of fire was like the dreamland that he couldn't remember from last night.

The lingering blood red. josei

Nabott came to the palace nervously. The carriage passed through the high bronze gates of the palace and stopped in the square behind them. Nabott got out of the carriage, and a white-haired man, the steward of the royal palace, smiled. "Good morning, Lord Nabott."

"Is His Majesty up?" Nabert looked at the man in front of him. He was modest and courteous, but there was always an imperceptible gloom between his brows. She wore the head waiter's black robes, with a complicated and delicate pattern embroidered on the cuffs with golden threads. The head waiter had no official position, but his words were sometimes more useful than Nabott's among the royal officials.

The steward nodded and said, "Great Emperor has always been diligent. At this time, he should be patrolling the training of the soldiers in the shooting range, right? Sir, please follow me."

Naboo nodded and followed behind the head waiter. Behind him was a group of palace guards. Their armor was bright, and their cloaks were like snow. They were majestic and awe-inspiring. They were knights who swore allegiance to Great Emperor, willing to sacrifice their hearts for Tangerio and bleed their last drop of blood. They were the Silver Frost Iron Guards, and their white cloaks were a unique sight in the palace.

But seeing them today, Nabott never once thought that their cloaks would be dyed red with blood. This made him very distressed. It was all because of that damn dream!
