Chapter 6322: Rather Be A Chicken Head Than A Phoenix Tail

The monarch followed Li Qiye’s gaze and observed the contest.

“A few members of Desolate Frontier are capable.” He smiled: “It’s not easy cultivating the solar affinity to this level. He’s in over his head though, thinking this darkloop beast is a treasure. This won’t end well.”

“Raa!” A dreadful roar caused all of Star Ocean to shake.

Those hiding in the darkness were fully intimidated.

“Mommy’s here.” The monarch laughed.

“Ooo-” The suppressed beast answered the cry.

“Boom!” A massive figure appeared, far larger than a whale. It had a pair of hands, one holding a jade-bone sword.

The man heard the roar and realized the danger.

“Boom!” He added more solar pulses to suppress the young one.

“Haha, this brat is dead, that’s a king of Star Ocean. It’s gonna eat him when it comes.” The monarch laughed at someone else’s misery.

Li Qiye shook his head and threw the bone in his hand.

“Whoosh!” It soared like a meteor for the middle-aged man.

“Who?!” The latter looked up and spotted Li Qiye on a different peak.

As he was distracted, the bone destroyed his solar flames.

“Screech!” The baby creature took advantage of this and shot out more dark pulses.

“Boom!” They gathered into a beam, causing the man to enter a defensive stage.

Unfortunately, this was not enough. His barriers crumbled and the beam blasted him flying.

He fell downward, vomiting blood before bellowing in agony. The beam continued and sent him out of Star Ocean.

“Better than becoming food here, I suppose. I wonder if I should eat this creature though.” The monarch remarked.

“Look at you, basking in someone else’s pain.” Li Qiye said.

“Haha, I respect Desolate Ancestor but don’t care about Desolate Frontier’s members. Taking care of these kids will wear everyone out.” The monarch said.

“Not wrong.” Li Qiye nodded: “But on the same note, your cultivation should be passed down.”

“Please, I don’t want to walk around with those burdens.” The monarch refused.

“It has to be done, just four disciples.” Li Qiye said.

“That will wear me out and plus, they’re not that talented. If I have to pick, I prefer some geniuses.” The monarch complained.

What would Orchidcore Young Noble and the others think if they were to hear his assessment?

“They are kind and their dao heart can be polished, not to mention unique. Perhaps one will inherit your legacy.” Li Qiye said.

“I would die from anger before then.” The monarch said.

“Masters are usually driven mad by their disciples in one way or another.” Li QIye said: “Of course, it’s fine if you don’t want to pass down your legacy.”

“Isn’t it too early?” The monarch said.

“Your fortune is different from this world’s cultivation. Are you going to wait until you’re on your deathbed? Moreover, why would any genius pick your deviant style instead of the conventional one with a clear path to immortality?” Li Qiye said.

“Deviant? My black witchcraft is one-and-only in history, peerless.” The monarch protested.

“That’s your opinion, others might not see it the same way.” Li Qiye said.

“Right.” The monarch murmured.

“The four brats aren’t bad, they will accept your art. Moreover, their grand dao isn’t complete so it will be easier for them to learn.” Li Qiye patted his shoulder again: “I’m sure you don’t want to take the time traveling across Three Immortals to find more suitable disciples.”

“That would take a long time.” The monarch admitted.

“Taking in a disciple is a matter of fate too, not just talent.” Li Qiye said.

“Okay, okay, Young Noble, I’ll take them.” The monarch relented: “But if I have to bring those burdens around all day, shouldn’t I be rewarded?”

“Look, the way to immortality is over there. Feel free to try the destructions.” Li Qiye smiled and pointed at the thirteenth peak.

“I don’t want to try since Jiang Ba couldn’t handle it, it would only bring me unnecessary suffering with no guarantee of surpassing who I am now.” The monarch said.

“Yes, and you might not need destruction either. Redoing your cultivation can result in improvement.” Li Qiye said.

“Or I can get worse, no guarantee at all.” The monarch complained.

“That depends on you, the path is already there.” Li Qiye said.

“Well, I won’t choose Desolate Ancestor’s path, I am fine with mine.” The monarch declared.

“Preferring to be the head of a chicken than the tail of a phoenix?” Li Qiye asked.

“A chicken head is still a head.” The monarch laughed: “I’m content as a supreme overlord and well, immortal might not be the highest realm.”

“Yes.” Li Qiye nodded: “The girl and the others still have a long way to go. Some may not survive.”

“I suppose there is no need to be number one. Being number three will do.” The monarch consoled himself.

“Number three?” Li Qiye gave him the side eye.

“Number five?” The monarch lost his confidence and said: “Eight then?”

He arched his chest and said: “No, ten is as low as I will go. Hmph, who else is stronger than me?”

“Only you know the answer.” Li Qiye replied.
