Chapter 144 : Su Yen and the Man Eating Vines

Suddenly, the ground beneath Su Yen's feet erupted with a tumultuous surge of life. Thousands of vines emerged with violent force, tearing through the earth as if hungry for freedom. Each vine, resembling a monstrous serpent, slithered out with deadly intent.

After destroying the first green vines, Su Yen prepared to depart when his spirit sense caught more powerful vines emerging from the ground. They were yellow, thicker, and faster than the green vines.

They shot forward like bullets, surrounding him on all sides, preparing to tear him to pieces. Su Yen didn't dare take them for granted and threw tens of punches at the same time.

As Su Yen battled the vines, their numbers didn't reduce but increased by the second. Unknown to him, beads of sweat began to form on his forehead.

"I need to get out of here," he muttered and increased the power of his punches and attacks.

The attack cleared all the vines in front of him, and quickly he rushed forward using his movement skill.

Su Yen rushed forward and didn't bother to look back, as he could feel multiple threats from his spirit sense.

Previously, there were only green and yellow vines attacking him. A new vine emerged from the ground, the red ones.

The red vines were twice as fast as the yellow ones and rushed after him. Sensing the speed of the red vines, he widened his eyes.

He threw a powerful punch behind. The red vines didn't take the attack head-on, avoiding it, and raced after their prey.

The quiet forest was filled with whistling and hissing sounds, the echoes of battle resounding frequently.

Just as Su Yen was gaining a head start from the vines, a new vine emerged from the ground. The purple vines were smaller but faster, three times faster than the red vines.

Su Yen widened his eyes when he saw the speed of the purple vines. In a blink, the purple vines had closed the distance and were at the back of him, ready to strike.

A frown appeared on his face, and he took out his sword from his storage ring. Without stopping, he turned and attacked.

The ancient forest was filled with a deadly, sharp, killing intent that sent shivers down the spines of the vines. They screeched in fear, but the red and purple vines didn't stop their pursuit.

However, when Su Yen released the attack, a blinding starlight covered the forest, cutting the vines into pieces wherever it passed.

A deep, resounding cry came from the depth of the ground, and the ground began to tremble vehemently.

Deep in the ground, a giant man formed out of millions of vines rushed toward Su Yen's direction. On its body were still different colors of vines, each seeming to have a life of its own.

Su Yen pushed his speed to the limit. His instinct was screaming of impending doom. Even he, with an immortal soul, would be in misery if those vines caught up to him.

With the distance so close, Su Yen could see clearly how the black vines were traveling. The black vines disappeared from one shadow to the other.

As long as there was a shadow in a certain range, they would disappear and appear in that shadow.

Su Yen didn't know the vines had stopped chasing after him, but he continued to escape. The feeling of being overwhelmed by the vines was so frustrating.
