Chapter 278: The Shocking Training Plan.
Chapter 278: The Shocking Training Plan.
The massive, intimidating figure in the sky descended slowly, and it was then everyone could see those standing at the back of the Thunderbird beast.
They were kids: Ai and Aiguo.
Dressed in plain white silk, their temperament was different from everyone else.
Those who didn't know them were confused, and their faces were laced with puzzlement. However, those from Baiyun City knew them and knew how powerful those two were.
The previously ruthless Zimo gave the duo a light bow and stepped to the side. When the men saw this, it was then they realized the kids were far from ordinary.
Standing on the high podium, looking at the hundreds of thousands of powerful men, Ai and Aiguo were not flustered or nervous. They looked at the sea of heads without having any change in their expression.
Aiguo waved his hand and tens of small circular devices floated in the air, moving to various positions above the soldiers.
"What was that?!" The soldiers were all curious, and only those from Baiyun City knew what was going on.
"Welcome, everyone. Congratulations for being part of the first batch of the Celestial Forte soldiers." Aiguo's voice resounded throughout the area.
It was as if he was speaking close to their ears, shocking them to their core.
"I hope you will all be alive when this training is over," he said matter-of-factly.
Ai stepped forward and began slowly, "You might not understand what my brother means. Let me explain."
As Ai began to introduce the various phases of the training they had planned for them, even the most courageous among them began to panic.
She only talked for five minutes, but it was enough to give them the kind of nightmare that was coming their way.
Some young masters and young misses had the urge to shout and question such insanity. But when they remembered they were no longer in their sect but at the Celestial Forte, they controlled their impulses.
They would be thrown into the most dangerous forest in the prefecture to survive three days while killing the most deadly beasts in their zone.
That event seemed to be the easiest of the training as they would be trained in various terrains and weather conditions with little to no food and weapons.
The more they thought about it, the more horrifying it seemed.
Ai didn't care about their despair and continued.
"At the end of the training, you should have a semblance like them," she pointed at the five hundred soldiers by the side.
"Check your Spirit Comms for your division. This is just a preliminary division; as your training continues, you will be further assigned to more accurate teams."
"Also, your grade and ranking will be displayed on the Celestial Forte official page."
"I advise you to have a long rest today. Today, you will beg to have it, but you won't."
"Good luck." She concluded and looked at Zimo.
"You heard that. Dismiss," he commanded.
Just as the recruits were dispersing, their expressions were heavy, filled with panic.
It was then they heard a sudden notification on their Spirit Comms.
'Your Spirit Comms has been upgraded.'
'You can now access the Celestial Fort Official website.'
Quickly, they began logging into the Celestial Official site. It was there they saw their biodata and remarks added.
Also, they saw their training schedule, which left many in despair.
It was more brutal than what they imagined. Moreover, they realized they had been moved to the main base.
Friends and clansmen found out they had all been divided. There was no one among them in the same group.
While the Celestial Forte was preparing to train the greenhorns into killing machines, at the border of the Zizhu Prefecture, inside the Cold Steel Pass, the atmosphere was brimming with excitement and happiness.
Children played without a care on the street, running after each other. Mothers were in the kitchen, preparing sumptuous meals for their husbands and sons that came back from the battlefront alive.
Previously, when the monster beast race attacked them, most of them had prepared not to see their husbands and loved ones again.
But who would have expected that most of them came back in one piece? Even though they still lost some people, however, compared to the number of death toll they normally have, this was nothing.
Meiling rode in with great speed, panic, and nervousness etched on her face.
The thought of losing her father scared her to no end.
Quickly, she arrived at the biggest mansion in the garrison. At the gate, the guards smiled at her and gave her a deep bow.

Watching the smile on the faces of the guards, she creased her brow.
'What is going on?' she thought for a moment.
Every time they went to battle, the atmosphere in the garrison for the next one month was always heavy, filled with sorrow.
But now, the aroma of delicious food wafted through the air, confusing her.
Still, she didn't think too much about it and rushed inside the manor.
"Father!" she cried in panic.
She entered the main hall but couldn't find her father, and her panic increased.
Frantically, she searched for her father from one room to another, and she was on the verge of breaking down.
Just as she entered her father's private courtyard, she saw her father talking with two of his trusted commanders while looking as strong as ever.
She even detected that her father had broken through to the Core Refining stage 3.
"Father!" she shouted and rushed to give her father a warm hug.
General Shi hugged his only daughter, and a smile of relief appeared on his face.
He was worried about her daughter's whereabouts, but what happened during the battle was something they needed to unravel.
After she calmed down, she separated from her old man and looked at him with a stupefied expression.
"Father, you've broken through," she asked in excitement.
"Yes. It was not only me, but almost everyone in the garrison," her father responded with a light smile.
"What?!"
"Young miss, please take a seat. There is a lot we need to tell you."
Just as she prepared to sit down, a soldier rushed inside carrying
a secret message from their spies.
Looking at their spy messenger, their expressions became solemn.
Without uttering a word, General Shi received the secret message and read it.
Instantly, his expression turned unsightly.
"Father, what is it?" she asked with a concerned expression.
"The Governor's army will arrive at our border in less than a month," he responded with a heavy tone.
