Chapter 279: Preparation for the Prefecture War - Part 1

In a blink, two weeks had gone by, and the news about the incoming war could not be hidden any longer.

The Prefecture Lord returned with a light bow, without any expression on his face. He took his seat below the highest seat at the center of the hall. This did not come as a surprise to anyone. They knew the most powerful person in their prefecture was not the Prefecture Lord but the sect master of the Celestial Heavenly Sect.

Sitting beside her father, Meiling looked at the highest seat with confusion and shock. She never expected that what everyone deemed as a taboo would be accomplished by one person without any repercussion. Therefore, she was curious to see the powerful person who could change a thousand-year-old ironclad rule in a blink.

'Don't stare at the seat like that. It's provoking.' She heard the voice transmission from her father and quickly averted her gaze.

Just as she averted her gaze, Su Yen appeared in the highest seat.

"Welcome, everyone," he said slowly.

Realizing his arrival, everyone quickly paid their respects.

However, a wide shock appeared on Meiling's face. She had heard that voice before. It was the voice of the young man who saved her from the bandits.

'How could this be?!' She exclaimed in her mind, her heart racing. Even though no one could see his face, she was damn sure it was the voice of that young man.

"Please take a seat," Su Yen continued.

Looking at the most powerful person in the whole prefecture, all the city lords who were seeing him for the first time were full of awe and respect. This person alone had done the unimaginable by creating a sect.

"I and the Prefecture Lord came to a conclusion for this war. If you surrender to the tyranny of the Governor, each of you will lose a thing or two. However, if we fight back and maintain your stand, there is much to gain."

Immediately, he finished speaking, a young man from the Cao clan came in wearing the Bronze Armor Construct.

Looking at the strange armor, all the city lords and generals looked at him with confusion.
