Chapter 97 : Invention of Barren Land Security Devices - Part 2
The registration only took no less than ten seconds. Su Ming prepared to leave when he heard Ai's voice once again.
"You can view your profile in your Spirit Comms and complete other optional ones."
"I can view what you just did in my Spirit Comms?" Su Ming asked.
"Yes," Ai nodded.
Immediately, Su Ming sent his consciousness into his Spirit Comms. He saw a new app beside the message app and clicked it. At once, all the information he provided was visible before him, with his image hanging on the left side.
For a couple of seconds, Su Ming didn't move. He looked at Su Yen for a moment before he muttered in amazement.
"Where did you get this crazy idea?"
"From my past life," Su Yen responded calmly.
Su Ming returned to his seat, with the respect he had for Su Yen deepened. As for the elders, they could all see that the citizenship registration was a successful one.
Su Yen turned to the elders and said, "You should do your registration also."
After a couple of minutes, all the elders had done their registration, and each of them had the same expression as Su Ming. They looked at Su Yen with newfound respect.
It was then that something clicked in Su Ming's mind.
"If everyone could see their details, then won't the Police identification device be meaningless?" He asked.
Hearing this, the elders nodded. They all supported this idea. Su Yen didn't say a word and threw a silver arm guard to him.
Su Ming caught it in one swift motion and looked at it curiously before looking at Su Yen.
"On your right arm," Su Yen commanded in a low voice. "Send your consciousness into it."
He turned to look at elder Su Feng and threw another silver arm guard at him. Elder Su Feng caught it and placed it on his right arm immediately.
As Su Ming sent his consciousness into the arm guard, he received a mechanical voice in his head.
"Welcome to the Police Intelligence portal."
"User detected."
"Checking for authority."
"Authority granted."
"Welcome, General Su Ming."
His picture appeared in his mind with his details. Below the interface were other tabs where he could read news, assign roles, give bounties, missions, and others.
Just as he was checking the Police arm guard with wide eyes, a red alert flashed on his interface.
"Wanted. Wanted Wanted."
"Elder Su Feng of the Celestial Heavenly Sect has breached the law. Unauthorized usage of the Police Arm Guard."
"Please apprehend the criminal immediately."
Looking at the picture of elder Su Feng and all his details displayed before with the wanted notice, Su Ming was dumbfounded. He raised his head and turned to look at elder Su Feng.
Elder Su Feng had a pale face full of fright. He tried to remove the arm guard from his right arm but found it quite impossible. While he was receiving an intimidating threat from his Spirit Comms for using the arm guard.
"Sect Master..." He called in panic.
"Relax, this is just for testing. Try to use your Spirit Comms to call or send a message," Su Yen said casually.
Upon hearing this, elder Su Feng breathed a sigh of relief and tried to call with his Spirit Comms but was denied with a blaring red alert of a wanted criminal on the interface.
"I can't, it stopped working," he announced with a slight trepidation in his voice.
Su Yen nodded. "Do you all understand what is going?"
Everyone inside the hall nodded their heads. Even though they didn't experience what Su Ming and elder Su Feng experienced, they could deduce what happened from their facial expressions.
Su Yen waved his hand, and the blaring alert on elder Su Feng's Spirit Comms disappeared as if it was never there in the first place. While Su Ming saw the wanted alert sidestepped from the arm guard.
"Stealing the arm guard is impossible. Only the right official can use it. Elder Su Ming should have noticed what was different from the normal profile to the police ones, right?" Su Yen asked.
"Yes. The police arm guard was more comprehensive," Su Ming responded.
"Good. Elder brother, choose anybody to test their identity. They only need to place their Spirit Comms around the Police Arm Guard," Su Yen commanded.
Su Ming didn't dilly-dally and went to the lower elders and picked an elder. The elders were slightly scared but still placed his Spirit Comms around the Police Arm Guard.
At once, the details of the outer elders were displayed by the Police Arm Guard, with his crime history, cultivation realm, and threat level.
"What do you think?" Su Yen asked.
"I'm speechless," Su Ming responded, not knowing how to react.
Su Yen didn't change his expression and waved his hand, presenting a fifteen-inch rectangular device with a hole at the center.
"This is what the guards will be using at every city, town, and village entrance," Su Yen said slowly as he introduced the function of the new device.
"So if anyone manages to bypass this security check and get into the cities or towns, the patrolling Police with the PAG will have the chance to apprehend them," he concluded.
"Do you have any questions?" He asked calmly.
Questions?
Everyone inside the hall was too shocked to ask a question. They realized their sect master was not kidding with the security of the barren land.
Could someone even escape with this type of security in place? They thought before shaking their heads.
Looking at the quiet hall, Su Yen didn't change his expression before he commanded.
"I want the registration to start in the next three days. All sect members must be registered tomorrow..." He paused for a moment before saying in a solemn voice.
"I have a feeling the barren land won't be peaceful in the next coming days."
Unbeknownst to him, in the western barren land, inside Willow City, in the northern part of the inner region, a group of men with black hoods appeared out of thin air in front of a big mansion.
At once, the still atmosphere turned eerily quiet, pulsating with an ominous presence. The hooded figures didn't utter a word and looked at the guards before moving in unison.
Tonight marked the beginning of the nightmare in the Barren land.
