Chapter 99 : A Huge setback - Panic
Chapter 99 : A Huge setback - Panic
Inside the Celestial Heavenly sect, Su Yen was cultivating under an ordinary-looking tree with two medium spirit stones in both hands.
The wind blew gently under the bright moonlight, casting an ethereal glow around him. His long, shoulder-length hair swayed gently.
Whoosh!
The two medium spirit stones in his hands turned into dust as he exhausted all the spiritual energy in them. He opened his eyes slowly and exhaled deeply.
[Ding!]
[Your experience with the Astral Starlight Sutra has leveled up. Level 3]
Looking at the system notification, Su Yen's lips curled into a smile. "With that, my cultivation speed should be faster," he thought out loud.

Looking at his stats, he fixated on the world providence for a moment before a deep sigh escaped from his mouth.
"When will I be able to increase the world providence?" he mused in contemplation.
"My sword aura has leveled up," he exclaimed with elation.
Just as his eyes settled on the karma row, he heard the system fortification once again.
[Ding!]
[Your karma bound with the Fate Demonic Sect has increased]
[Karma: Fate Demonic Sect (6000/20,000) +1000]
Looking at the sudden increase in Fate Demonic sect karma, his expression changed immediately. He stood with solemnity.
"The Blood Whisperer is back?" He said with his voice laced with deadly killing intent.
"How can they be back? Were they not all annihilated by our soldiers?" He thought, a bewildered expression on his face.
Su Yen was still contemplating the sudden reappearance of the Blood Whispers when his Spirit Comm received a call. He was not in the mood to answer any call but still decided to answer it.
"Sect master," Elder Jie called with solemnity. "The Blood Whisperers are back, and they are attacking one of our new vassal clans in the western barren land."
"Which clan?" Su Yen asked with deadly calmness.
"The Chou clan."
"What's their situation?" He asked, maintaining his calmness.
"Not good. When our men arrived, they were on the brink of annihilation," Elder Jie responded gravely.
"What's the situation now? Can our men handle them?" Su Yen asked.
Elder Jie didn't respond immediately, as if he was taking his time to gather his thoughts. "We sent our elite team when we heard Metal Bone Constructs were useless against them. We managed to contain them, but the battle was not easy at all…"
His voice trailed off with uncertainty. "We've lost some men, and the deadly battle is still raging on inside the Chou mansion."
Su Yen didn't speak when he heard this. His gut feeling had been telling him something was going to happen in the next couple of days, but he never expected it to be this soon.
Elder Su Jie didn't dare to breathe loudly on the other side of the Spirit Comms as he waited patiently for Su Yen's orders. He knew what this meant for their sect, a significant setback in their plans.
"Let's wait and see how our men fare against them, and we will plan our next course of action based on that. Call Su Ming to send more troops to guard all the cities and towns, especially where our vassals are located," Su Yen said after a few seconds.
"Alright," Elder Jie ended the call and quickly made the next call.
Standing under the tree, Su Yen raised his head and looked at the moon for a moment before uttering in a low voice.
"They seem to have come back stronger… However, if they think this is the same barren land…" His voice trailed off, filled with deadly killing intent.
Meanwhile, inside the Chou mansion, the battle was so catastrophic that all the people living in the surrounding areas had woken up, looking at the devastating battle with trepidation.
As they sent messages to their friends one after the other, the sudden reappearance of the Blood Whisperer spread throughout the barren land.
A question arose in their minds: why would the Blood Whisperer attack the Chou Clan first? They were not the most powerful clan in Willow City, nor the richest. With the way things looked, the Blood Whisperers were intent on their total annihilation.
They then realized that the only notable change the Chou clan had made in recent times was becoming the vassal clan of the Celestial Heavenly Sect.
As this conclusion set in, all the other seven vassal clans were on the brink of despair. The threat from the Blood Whisperer made them unable to sleep, and they began gathering their forces in preparation for any possible attack while their enemies gloated at their misfortune.
Meanwhile, on the peaceful Crystal Island, a silhouette dressed in black raced through the streets, jumping from one house to another without making a sound.
Quickly, the silhouette arrived at the largest mansion on the island, leaping over the fence with ease. The guards guarding the entrance remained unaware.
The figure moved nimbly to avoid making any sound, its sharp gaze locking on the numerous rooms for a few moments before racing toward the inner section of the building.
Dodging the servants and guards in its path, the figure reached its destination. It opened a window without making a noise and entered.
It looked at the island chief sleeping amid two naked women, a hint of disgust crossing its face. Without batting an eye, it withdrew a dagger from its robe and walked toward the island chief.
Placing the dagger gently against his neck, it whispered, "Make a noise, and lose your head."
