Chapter 245

“What do you think?” Jalen raised his eyebrows and didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

If he didn’t cook for Elaina, he wouldn’t have gone to so much trouble being here.

He was worried that she would muddle through the dinner. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be a chef for

her.

Elaina laughed and walked over. “What can I help you with? Although I don’t know how to cook, good at processing the ingredients.”

I’m

“No. Help me take the dishes to the table. It’ll be ready soon,” Jalen said. He didn’t expect Elaina to help him wash the groceries.

“Alright.” Elaina nodded.

“Be careful. Don’t burn yourself.” Jalen urged worriedly. He regretted letting her serve the dishes.

“Mr. Halton, I am not a child. I am not that stupid.” Elaina rolled her eyes at him and put the dishes on the table. She didn’t hurt herself and made Jalen worry about her.

She wondered why he thought she was so stupid. Jalen even had to especially warn her to be careful. Did she look that stupid?

Jalen smiled and did not care about her retort. “I am worried about you. Can’t you tell?”

“It’s unnecessary,” Elaina said.

While speaking, Jalen had finished the last dish and walked out with the dishes. “All the dishes are

ready.”

They sat opposite each other. Looking at the three dishes and a soup on the table, Elaina felt

satisfied.

She gave Jalen a thumbs up and said, “Awesome. They look good and smell fragrant. You’re worthy

of a powerful man.”

“Do you like it?” Jalen looked at her and smiled, “If you like it, I will cook for you every day.”

“Well, no.” It was demanding to have Jalen cook for her every day, and Elaina was afraid that Nitzan would come to her.

As they ate, neither of them spoke. The living room was quiet, and only the sound of them eating could be heard.

After a while, Jalen spoke, “Don’t arrange so many jobs for yourself in the future. It won’t be worth it if you tire yourself out.”

time she “Speaking of this, you are more workaholic than me.” Before she divorced Jalen, every went to the Halton’s house to eat, Elaina could hear Nitzan complain that Jalen did not come to see him because of work.

If work would harm health, Elaina felt that Jalen’s health would be worse than hers.

“Do you feel uncomfortable if you don’t answer me back?” Jalen wondered if she didn’t understand that he was concerned about her.

Elaina pursed her lips and did not say anything else.

After dinner, Elaina got up to clean up the dishes. Jalen leaned against the kitchen door and said, “I will cook for you and you will wash the dishes in the future. What do you think?”

Jalen felt very warm just thinking about that.

However, Elaina’s words drove his fantasy away.

“I’m sorry. Actually, I don’t like to wash dishes,” she said, embarrassed.

Jalen’s face darkened as he asked her, “When you were in Peach Village, who would cook and wash

the dishes?”

“Dexter cooked, Theodore washed…” Elaina immediately stopped when she mentioned Theodore.

Jalen saw that she was in a bad mood and walked to her side. “Actually, you don’t have to be under

pressure. You are very outstanding, and it is normal that you have chasers.”

“But he is different,” Elaina said.

“Perhaps you think he is different, but in my opinion, Theodore is the same as any other man.” He looked at Elaina and continued, “One can hardly control his emotions or feelings.”

Jalen said this to comfort Elaina, hoping that she would be happy and not think too much about it.

As for Theodore…

Jalen still hated him and did not want him to appear in front of Elaina again.

But the premise was that Elaina could be happy.
