The bell rang loudly, pulling Jalen back from his thoughts.
Seeing that it was a call from Nitzan, he answered it without hesitation. Nitzan said on the other side of the line, “My birthday’s 3 days away. What gift are you going to give me?”
“Grandpa, how can you ask what your gift is?” Jalen was speechless.
“Why can’t I ask? What if I don’t like your gift?” Nitzan held the phone in one hand and his beard in the other, smiling.
Jalen thought of the painting that he bought earlier in an auction and said, “I guarantee that
will like it.”

“You guarantee my ass. I only want one gift for this birthday,” Nitzan said.
“What is it?” Jalen was much more patient when facing his grandfather. He thought it was better if Nitzan had a request.
“Bring Ella to my birthday party,” Nitzan said.
Jalen frowned. After a while, he said, “If you want her at the party, it would be better that you call
her personally.”
“I want you to bring her there.” Nitzan knew that Elaina would not refuse him if he called her personally, but he wanted to create an opportunity for Jalen and Elaina. Of course, he had to let
Jalen think of a way himself.
But in Jalen’s view, Elaina might go if it was Nitzan who called her, and Elaina would absolutely turn it down if Jalen invited her.

Nitzan snorted. “No feelings? He didn’t even see Ella. How could he feel it?”
Takvor did not speak. Nitzan continued, “I think they are a perfect match. As long as they get to
know each other, they will fall in love very soon.”
“Mr. Halton, actually, I can’t figure out why you want Mr. Halton and Ms. Gainsford to be together?” Takvor couldn’t help but ask.
He could understand that the marriage was arranged because of the commitments between the two
family’s elders, but Jalen and Elaina had divorced. Takvor found it strange that Nitzan kept matchmaking the two of them.
“Ella is a good girl. She can help Jalen and the entire Halton family,” Nitzan said after being silent
for a while.
“Ms. Gainsford helps Mr. Jalen?” Takvor was surprised and did not quite understand.
“I don’t want to force Jalen either, but the Halton family is not as powerful as he thinks. Maybe the
storm will come soon.
“Do you think that I insist that he and Ella be together because I’m old and stubborn?”
Nitzan sneered and continued, “That’s because Ella had a powerful family behind her. If she is with Jalen, she will definitely help Jalen in the future. Only in this way can the Halton family prosper forever in New York.”
