Chapter 1181

In the car, Jonathan asked, “Does your wound still hurt?”

“Nah, it’s fine now.”

“Yulia’s family is still in J City. They want to meet you and thank you in person. Are you up for that?” Jonathan asked gently.

Estella shook her head and said, “I don’t see the need.”

“Alright, I’ll let them know.” Jonathan said calmly, “I’ve pretty much figured out what happened. Yulia’s dad was running for a position in H City, and someone tried to kidnap Yulia to force him to drop out. They’ve been tailing Yulia for a week, and the day she invited you to Midnight Bar gave them an opportunity. You being there was a lucky break; they’re really grateful.”

After a pause, Jonathan added, “Yulia is their only child.”

Estelle’s gaze was clear as she said lightly, “I figured Yulia must’ve been a target for a while.”

She turned and asked, “Did they catch the people who tried to kidnap her?”

“They got ’em all.” Jonathan nodded.

“Good.”

As she was walking downstairs after class, Estelle saw Jonathan in the living room looking at his phone. Seeing her, he picked up his jacket from the couch and left.

Suddenly, Estelle remembered something. Since she returned to J City, she hadn’t seen Milo at the Lamont family’s house.

Once they were in the car, Estelle finally asked, “Where’s Milo?”

“Miss him, do you?” Jonathan asked with a smile.

“Just curious.”

“Want to go see Milo?” Jonathan looked at her, his gaze gentle,

Estelle was actually a bit scared of Milo and didn’t really want to meet the dog. But Jonathan’s eyes were filled with anticipation, and she found herself unable to refuse. She just nodded gently.

When the car was driving on Maple Street, Estelle had a hunch. Sure enough, Jonathan was driving toward Villa del Sol. After passing the dessert shop, they soon turned onto a road lined with plane trees.

Estelle had walked this road for three years, familiar with every tree and bench, all etched deep in her memory.

Everything was the same, only the plane trees were taller and more lush.

Looking back, she had lived a peaceful life in those three years-simple and calm. It felt like it could go on forever, as if Jonathan never existed

Jonathan said lightly, “Every time I came here these past two years, I wondered, if I had come back once during those three years, gone to Villa del Sol, and seen you, maybe everything afterwards would have been different.”

Estelle rolled down the car window, letting the mountain wind blow in. She squinted slightly. “Nothing would be different; you’d still resist this marriage.”

Jonathan looked at her, her hair blowing in the wind, his gaze deep. “What if I fell for you at first sight?”

Estelle raised an eyebrow and said, “Did you fall for me at first sight when we met?”

Jonathan remembered their encounter at the University of J City and couldn’t help but laugh; “Who told you to follow me secretly? I thought I had another crazy fan!”

Estelle scoffed, “Crazy fan? You were just flattering yourself!”

Jonathan nodded. “I didn’t see clearly and didn’t recognize that the woman following me was my wife.”

Estelle, “……

She slightly lifted the corner of her mouth and turned to look out the car window. Under the sunlight, her side profile was exquisite, and her eyes and brows were picturesque.

Jonathan reached out and held her hand; their fingers intertwined. Estelle tensed, her fingers curling slightly, but she didn’t pull away.
