Chapter 1183

“How come you only remember the dog and not me?” Jonathan grumbled.

Estelle raised an eyebrow and said softly, “I raised Max, not you!”

Jonathan chuckled and was left speechless.

Wilma, carrying two glasses of juice and some desserts, placed them on the wooden chair on the lawn. She smiled warmly and said, “I didn’t expect Jonathan and ma’am to drop by; I didn’t prepare enough. I hope this will do.”

Estelle laughed lightly. “We came unannounced, Wilma. Don’t worry about it; anything will do.”

Wilma chuckled and went back to the villa.

Jonathan gently touched Estelle’s forehead and said, “No wonder Wilma speaks highly of you. With a kind and considerate mistress like you, it’s no wonder the servants are fond of you.”

“In the three years I’ve been here, I’ve never treated Wilma and Mr. Wagner as servants. We live together; we’re more like a family.” Estelle took a glass of juice and sat on the ground, looking at the familiar surroundings and feeling at peace.

Estelle turned to Jonathan and said, “You might not believe me, but in those three years, I never resented you. In fact, I’m grateful you built Villa del Sol.”

Villa del Sol was the castle she dreamt of as a child.

Jonathan sat next to her, watching her intently. “The three years I missed out on are my regrets. From now on, there will be countless more.” Estelle bowed her head to avoid his gaze, looking at Milo and

Max playing in the distance with her eyes slightly curved. Something popped into her mind; she turned to Jonathan and said, “I once thought about buying Villa del Sol.”

Jonathan laughed elegantly, his voice low and soft. “When we first got together, you told me you wanted a house. Was it Villa del Sòl?” Estellé nodded and joked, “I was worried that when our contract ended, you wouldn’t let me live here. I really couldn’t part with Max and Wilma.” “So you snuck up on me and made me fall in love with you just so I wouldn’t divorce you!” Jonathan teased.

Estelle’s ears turned red. “Those are two different things; that’s all in your head!”

“Enough with the excuses!” Jonathan pulled Estelle into his arms and said, “Admit it, you deliberately got close to me.”

Max suddenly ran over, seeing Jonathan holding Estelle. He was on high alert.

Milo followed; both dogs sat side by side, watching them intently.

Estelle was still a bit scared of Milo, her body tensing up instinctively.

Jonathan moved Estelle in front of him and gestured to Milo, who obediently lay down.

Jonathan enveloped Estelle in his arms, holding her hand, slowly moving closer to Milo. His steady voice, somehow enticing, whispered in her ear, “It’s okay, try touching Milo’s head; I’m here; I won’t let you get hurt.”

Estelle’s nails tingled; she tried to pull back, but Jonathan held her even tighter.

His body pressed against her back, his arms tightly wrapped around her, and the strong sense of security gradually dissipated Estelle’s fear. She let Jonathan guide her hand onto Milo’s head.

Her arm suddenly trembled, and her palm was sweaty.

“Don’t be scared, just like you’re touching a familiar pet.” Jonathan’s lips near her ear whispered, “We’re both your loyal protectors!”

Estelle’s heart raced, her eyes clear and bright, her body slowly relaxing, her fingers slightly bent, reaching out to touch Milo’s head.

Milo’s black eyes spun, letting out a low whimper, as if he were very happy but afraid to startle Estelle.
