Chapter 1192

Monday

As usual, Estelle went to the set, where she bumped into Yvonne in the makeup room. Yvonne took the opportunity while the room wasn’t crowded to tell her, “I’ve found Victor for you. He’s currently working as a temp in the production department. But I need to warn you; he seems to have a gambling habit. He’s already spent all the money I gave him. You better not regret bringing him close to you.” “Got it; thanks for the heads up!” Estelle nodded slightly, then turned around to get back to her own business.

Close to noon, Estelle went to the filming location and heard the team leader of the production department berating someone by the roadside: “Everyone’s working their butts off while you sneak off to nap. Don’t you want to work anymore?”

Victor was standing there, sheepishly mumbling, “I didn’t sleep well last night; I’m a bit tired.”

“If you’re tired, go home and sleep. This is a film set, not a hotel. We don’t need slackers here. If I catch you slacking off again, you’re gone.”

“Uh.” Victor hung his head, silent.

“I’ve seen plenty like you, always wanting to reap the benefits without putting in any work. What’s the difference between you and a maggot in sewage?”

The hot weather seemed to have set off the team leader’s temper; he continued to hurl insults at Victor, full of malice.

Victor’s face was changing from red to white, and he wished he could disappear into a crack in the ground. He lifted his head to say something, then spotted Estelle in the distance. His eyes lit up, and he called out, “Sister!”

“Your sister’s here too?” The team leader frowned, thinking that Victor’s sister was an extra on set. He turned around to see that it was Estelle and was dumbfounded.

Everyone on set knew and respected Estelle.

Estelle approached and asked, “What’s going on?”

“Ms. MacClain!” The team leader immediately put on a smile and greeted Estelle warmly.

Victor was delighted. “Estelle, you’re working on this set too?”

Estelle kept her expression neutral and said, “Yes.”

The team leader was surprised; looking at the two completely mismatched siblings, he asked bewildered, “Ms. MacClain, is this really your brother?”

Before Estelle could answer, Victor immediately emphasized, “Of course she’s my

sister.”

Estelle looked indifferent and said nothing.

The team leader’s attitude changed immediately. “So you’re Ms. McClain’s brother? Why didn’t you say so earlier? I could’ve taken better care of Victor.”

Estelle gave a faint smile and asked, “No need; just treat him like everyone else.”

With that, she turned and left.

Victor quickly followed: “Estelle, what’s your job on set? I see our team leader respects you a lot. It’s fate, isn’t it? We meet again.”

Estelle turned to look at him and said, “I gave you $4000 two years ago. We have nothing to do with each other anymore.”

Victor’s eyes sparkled with a dark light. He smirked and laughed, saying, “Estelle, we’re family. How can we have nothing to do with each other?”

Estelle smiled and asked, “Have you spent all the money I and Yvonne gave you?”

Victor’s eyes flickered, and he said awkwardly, “It’s been more than two years; of course I spent that money. You don’t live in that residential area anymore?”

Estelle stopped. “Did you come looking for me?”

“Yes, the moment I arrived in J City, I came looking for you. But the security wouldn’t let me in. I waited outside for three or four days but never saw you.” Victor looked at her intently and asked, “Where did you move to? I’ve been looking for you!”
