“Mum, let’s not go to grandma’s house next time” Kya seemed to sense Emily’s sadness, her voice full of sympathy

The door suddenly swung open, and Estelle Macclain walked in, carrying grocery bags from the supermarket. Seeing them huddled together on the couch, she asked, “What’s up?”

She walked over and sat beside them, asking. “Did you go to your mum’s house today?”

“What do you think of Martin?” Estelle asked.

If your dad wasn’t a factor and Martin was also willing to accept Kya, would you consider him?”
“No way!” Emily shook her head firmly, gripping Kya’s little hand tightly. “If I get married and have kids, what will happen to Kya?*
Estelle whispered, “Since you’ve decided, don’t fret over it! As for your mum, even though she’s elder, you don’t have to put up with everything. You’ve done more than enough for them!”
Emily bit her lip, “Yeah, I know. I won’t compromise!”
“Then stop being upset Estelle laughed, “I bought steak. Let’s make dinner together?”
“Mm-hm” Emily smiled, revealing her dimples. Seeing Estelle always gave her a sense of security, and her troubles seemed to halve. She got up to start cooking.
As Emily chopped vegetables, she asked, “Your upstairs neighbour seems to be moving in. I saw them moving furniture when I came back today”
“Hmm, maybe”” Estelle didn’t pay much attention.
“Who are they?” Emily asked.
“I’m not sure. I’ve never seen them.”
The neighbor’s home had been under renovation for over ten days, and they had started moving furniture. People were constantly coming and going, but Estelle had yet to see the owner.
“I hope they’re easy to get along with.” Emily joked.
The two chatted casually when suddenly Estelle’s phone rang. She wiped her hands and picked it up.
Magdalen Sampson’s clear voice came through, “Ella, I’m back from my business trip. Let’s have dinner tonight. Invite Emily and Kya. I miss Kya so much, I haven’t seen her in so long. I even brought her a gift from B City”
Estelle looked at Emily and told Magdalen, “Come on over now. We’ll eat at home!”
“Really?” Magdalen sounded excited, 1 haven’t had Emily’s cooking in a while!”
“Then hurry up!”
“Alright, I’ll bring wine. Let’s have a good celebration tonight!”
“Sounds good!”
Estelle hung up with a smile and told Emily, “Magdalen will be here soon!”
Emily was also pleased, “I heard her voice. Tell her to come over soon!”
