Chapter 1296

When they arrived at the 9th Mansion, everyone walked in and soon four or five waitresses came over.

The dim lighting and luxurious surroundings brought out the true nature of the men who had been drinking

Manuel was having a whale of a time with a familiar waitress in his arms, teamng her and feeding her drinks. His earlier gentlemanly demeanor was nowhere to be seen.

Emily had never seen anything like this befom. When Charlie and Carson Foster hung out, they would just play cards, chat, and drink. Even with waitresses around, they kept their cool

But she knew that this was the norm for men in the workplace. Even though she didn’t like it, she had to get used to it.

Charlie sat next to a waitress, but due to his composed demeanor, she remained respectful.

As another woman approached, Emily gracefully vacated her seat for her

In the dim ambiance, Charlie’s gaze followed Emily with an icy intensity as she moved away.

Finding a quieter spot, Emily took a seat.

Soon, Colin joined her Smirking, he remarked, “Ms. Sullivan, you seem to handle your drinks well. Do you spend a lot of time with Mr. James?”

She responded evenly, “Mr. James and I just finalized a business deal, so he’s in high spirits. I’ve had a few extra drinks tonight, but I’m not a heavy drinker My tolerance is average.”

Colin leaned in closer, the comer of his mouth twitching with amusement. “You’re being too modest, Ms. Sullivan!” His arm casually draped behind her on the couch, his gaze never leaving hers. Tve

recently co-founded a private club. Consider visiting on weekends. I’ll even gift you a lifetime gold membership” Emily moved back coolly. The alcohol in her stomach stirred and she felt a bit dizzy, but she managed to respond, “Thanks, Colin, but I don’t think I’ll need it. I have to take care of my kids on weekends.”

“You have kids, Ms. Sullivan?” Colin locked incredulous. “You’re pulling my leg!”

Emily just smiled and didn’t explain.

Colin wasn’t bothered. He reached for a glass of wine on the table. “Meeting Ms. Sullivan is the highlight of my day. Let’s drink to that.”

Suddenly Charlie spoke up, “Colin, did you grab the wrong glass?”

Colin paused, looking at the glass in his hand. He laughed, “Really? There are so many glasses here. Mr. James can just switch”

“Sorry, but I like to keep things straight. And I don’t like people touching my stuff!

Charlie’s voice wasn’t loud, but it was chilly enough. He looked at Emily and said lightly. “Come here!”

Emily looked at the man’s eyes, her mind blank for a moment, then she got up and walked towards Charlie

Charlie looked at the somewhat dazed woman next to him. He spoke politely but coldly, “Could you please move?”

The woman stood up immediately and gave her seat to Emily.

Colin subtly looked over at Charlie, gauging his reaction. He was fond of Emily’s graceful yet vivacious demeanor. He had been mildly flirtatious, especially given how detached Charlie had seemed toward

her. If Emily truly belonged to Charlie, Colin wouldn’t overstep his bounds.

Emily took a seat beside Charlie, prompting the lady who had been on Charlie’s right to discreetly leave

Locking eyes with Emily, Charlie instructed, “Get me a drink.”

Complying, Emily took a fresh wine glass and filled it halfway for him.

Charlie’s eyes were filled with drunkenness as he kept staring at her. He spoke softly, ‘Drink up and then pour me one!”

Emily’s eyes widened in surprise. She gritted her teeth and asked, “Are you drunk?”

Charlie leaned in closer to her, teasing, “Or would you rather keep Colin company?”

They were very close. Charlie’s strong alcoholic breath sprayed onto her face, making her feel a bit tipsy

Looking into the man’s deep and captivating eyes, Emily understood. Tonight, she would either have to keep him or Colin company. There was no way she could get out of this unscathed since she was here already

“Drink it,” Charlie ordered

Emily’s heart raced, the alcohol fumed, giving her courage. She tilted her head back and took a big gulp.

But she couldn’t bring herself to feed him.

Charlie watched her puffed cheeks, a gentle flicker in his eyes. He didn’t need her to feed him. He merely leaned down and kissed her lips.

He closed his eyes, sucking the alcohol from her mouth.

Emily’s mind went blank, as if shocked. The reddish wine trickled down their connected lips. Charlie pulled her closer by the waist, making their kiss more comfortable.
