Chapter 1399

When he got home, Hans wanted to invite Estelle and Henson to their home, but considering that Leonie might still have some prejudice against Estelle and was afraid of misunderstanding, he could only reluctantly say goodbye to them.

“Go in and call if you need anything!” Estelle waved.

“Be careful on the road!” Hans stood outside the door, watching Estelle’s car leave.

The car gradually drove away and headed for the Lamont family. Estelle noticed that Henson had not spoken for a while. His face looked nervous, and he seemed to be in a bad mood.

“What’s up?” Estelle glanced at the rearview mirror.

Henson looked at her seriously, “Who do you think you’re closer to, me or Hans?”

Estelle was taken aback, and then she burst into laughter, her eyes squinting into crescents. “Are you really getting upset over this?”

“Who said I’m upset? I’m just asking!” Henson denied vehemently

“You’re both my buddies, like little brothers to me. I treat you guys equally.” Estelle replied

“Little brother? If Jonathan hears that, he’ll scold you again”” Henson grumbled.

“If Jonathan knew you were being so petty, he’d scold you tool” Estelle said with a chuckle.

Henson’s eyes shifted as he asked softly, “Would you worry about me like this if I was in trouble?”

“What do you think?” Estelle raised an eyebrow at him.

Henson remembered the last time he was kidnapped and how worried Estelle was. He turned to look out the car window, a smile creeping onto his face.

Screw it, Estelle would be part of the Lamont family anyway. He wouldn’t fuss about Hans for now!

Jonathan returned home to fetch something. As he parked his car outside and entered the living room, the housemaid Mae greeted him, “You’re back. Ms. Yvonne’s been waiting for you.”

Jonathan looked at the woman sitting in the living room and asked expressionlessly, “What’s up?”

Yvonne stood up and walked over, smiling politely. “Your mother, Cathrine, and Alcott are supposed to be back today, aren’t they? I came to wait for them because hadn’t seen them for a long time. I miss them.”

Jonathan replied coldly, “Alcott had something come up. He switched to tomorrow night’s flight. You don’t need to wait.”

“In that case.” Yvonne’s eyes flickered, and then she said, “It’s okay. I came here to see you anyway”

Jonathan was about to go upstairs when he looked back and asked, “What’s going on?”

“Can we talk upstairs?” Yvonne looked at him gently.

Jonathan said expressionlessly, “Follow me.”

Once they reached the third floor, Jonathan went to the bookshelf next to the living room to find a document and casually said, “What’s on your mind?”

Yvonne stood in front of him, hesitating. “Jonathan, could you let my cousin Zack go and let him return to his home country?”

“Impossible.” Jonathan glanced at her without any expression.

“Jonathan, Zack’s mother is seriously ill. Can’t you let him go back and see his mother? Yvonne’s brows furrowed. “Zack’s been on the run abroad, living a hard life. He’s lost everything. Are you really going to push him to a dead end?

Jonathan sat down on the sofa, lighting a cigarette with icy eyes. “He almost killed Estelle. I said I wanted his life. I won’t let him go.”

“But Estelle’s doing well now, and Zack’s life is ruined!” Yvonne said painfully

“Is it Estelle’s fault his life is ruined? How do you know Estelle’s doing well? Who’s going to bear the suffering Estelle’s been through?” Jonathan’s eyes were icy, and

his voice was chilling.

“Tm the one to blame!” Yvonne’s eyes welled up with tears. Zack only acted against Estelle because of me, causing all this. Punish me instead. Hit and scold me, or even kill me if it makes you feel better!*

Jonathan stared at her coldly. “Do you think just because I haven’t confronted you in the past two years, and you’ve had an easy time of it, that I won’t lay a hand on you?”

“You certainly could!” Yvonne’s face was icy, and she scoffed through her tears. “Who could resist when you decide to punish someone? Do you think I’ve had a good two years? I’ve lost you, lost Josiah, my career’s gone down the tubes, and I’m walking on thin ice in the Hanson family. I’m telling you, these past two years have been pure hell for me. I can’t sleep at night, and I have to rely on medicine just to get through the day. I’m sick of it all. If you really hate me that much, then just kill me?”
