Chapter 1493

[I need to calm down!]

Sallie did a full 360 on the spot, totally floored by the news. Estelle was now Jonathan’s wife, not tutor, but his wife! After a moment, Sallie managed to cool down a bit, [Did you two tie the knot without even your parents knowing?]

Estelle replied, [They’re in the dark about it.]

Sallie wondered, if they knew that Estelle had become a part of the Lamont family, would they still treat her the same?

[Estelle, you’re a real game changer!]Sallie said half–jokingly. [You snagged the guy that even Yvonne couldn’t win over! Why bother being a designer when you can just be the boss’s wife? Once this news breaks, it’ll be the biggest buzz in J City. You’ll be the talk of the town in no time.]

Estelle replied, [That’s why I can’t let anybody find out.)

Sallie knew that Estelle always played her cards close to her chest, so she quickly got her drift and admired her even more. She even understood why Estelle didn’t tell the Macclain family about this. If they found out, they’d definitely heap a ton of trouble on her.

Knowing this big secret, Sallie felt both thrilled and excited, [Estelle, is there anything else I don’t know about you?]

Estelle replied, [Not much left, you pretty much know it all.]

Sallie sent a hug emoji, [Don’t worry, I will keep it a secret, I will never tell anyone!]

[Alright.]

Jonathan was driving, giving Estelle a sideways glance, “Are you chatting with Sallie?”

Estelle nodded, “I hope she can keep our secret.”

Jonathan chuckled, “Everyone saw ùs leave together today, what are you still trying to hide?”

“Don’t worry, even if they saw, they wouldn’t dare to jump to conclusions.” Estelle turned to look at Jonathan, “After all, Mr. Lamont, you’re so outstanding while I seem plain and ordinary.”

Jonathan couldn’t help but reach over to pinch her cheek, “Who says you’re plain and ordinary? In my eyes, you’re the best!”

Estelle started laughing, looking out of the car window, feeling quite pleased. She wasn’t worried that the Macclain family would suspect anything. Even if Sallie heard Jonathan call her his wife, she wouldn’t believe they were together, let alone other people. Especially in Simone’s eyes, her unremarkable daughter could never marry into the Lamont family!

At Carmella’s victory party, the first half was all praise for Carmella, but the latter half completely veered off course, with everyone discussing Jonathan and Estelle, speculating about their relationship.

Ever since Jonathan left, Carmella seemed somewhat distracted, completely uninterested in what others were saying, her mind filled with the image of the handsome man and his aloof demeanor. The last man she was so infatuated with was Jason, but after he repeatedly favored Estelle over her, her infatuation turned to disgust.

Over the years, besides having a bit of a crush on Finley, she hadn’t liked anyone else. And that tiny crush on Finley, in front of Jonathan, was crushed into

nonexistence!

She always admired strong men!

Although she had seen Jonathan before, she knew the gap between them was too wide and she didn’t dare to harbor any hopes. However, today Simone’s words gave her the impression that she and Jonathan might not be impossible.

After the party ended, on the way back to the Macclain family, Carmella was constantly thinking about Jonathan, thinking about the tender expression on his face when he was on the phone. If only that was directed towards her, how wonderful that would be. Regrettably, it was Estelle!

The recently acquired “biological daughter” recognition from Simone didn’t seem so satisfying anymore. The Macclain family simply couldn’t compare with the Lamont family. Her excitement for defeating Estelle was completely replaced by jealousy. She bit her lip and looked at Simone, “Mom, it seems like Jonathan really likes my sister, what should I do?”
