Chapter 231

Ali laughed, “What if she doesn’t want to come?”

Manley’s smile faded, his gaze turned cold, and he slowly said, “Then you kneel down to her!”

Ali was stunned, not knowing whether Manley was joking or not. The room gradually quieted down. All the people who were just laughing noticed the change in Manley’s tone, and they were wondering why Manley’s expression suddenly changed.

When Manley celebrated his birthday, only a few people were there, but they didn’t know the girl who sent the cake was called Estelle.

Manley said coldly, “Go, kneel down and beg her to come. If she’s not happy, just slap yourself to cheer her up. Anyway, she must come, and she must come with a happy mood! And you,”

Manley’s sinister, cold eyes swept towards Susan, “You go with Ali, kneel down and tell Estelle what bad things you just said about her. When you come back, I will check with Ali, if you miss a single, word, I’ll have someone throw you off the eighth floor!”

Susan’s face turned pale, and she trembled with fear. She had heard of Manley’s character. He had no rules and did things according to his whims. If he said he would throw her off, he meant it. He was such a wicked person!

Ali’s face was also pale, and he looked at Clement for help, still not knowing what he had done wrong.

Clement was helpless too. He had warned Ali before. It was Ali’s own fault for not understanding the situation. All Clement could do was say, “Go, invite Miss Macclain over!”

Hearing the name Miss Macclain, Ali realized that Estelle knew Manley.

He wished he could slap himself right now, glancing at Clement, hoping he could say a few good words for him.

Clement frowned, “Hurry up, before Manley gets really angry!”

Ali nodded, cautiously said, “Don’t worry, Manley. I’ll definitely beg Miss Macclain to come.”

Then he turned and walked outside, with Susan hurriedly following behind him.

The crowd inside sighed with relief and were glad that they hadn’t joined Ali in saying bad things about Estelle earlier.

In the lounge, Estelle was reading and searching for information. Her work at the Midnight Bar wasn’t busy, so she took up a part–time job helping people revise their thesis outlines. The income was even higher than her waitress job at the Midnight Bar.

Melody and two other waitresses were also there, chatting about the newly released autumn jewelry collection from GK Jewelry Studio while sipping coffee.

While they were chatting excitedly, Ali and Susan entered the room.

Facing the door, Melody saw Ali coming in and shouted sweetly, “Mr. Bolton! What brings you here?”

Ali ignored her, looked around the room, finally setting his eyes on Estelle.

Susan stood there unwilling to move, waiting for Ali to approach Estelle.

Ali glared at Susan, bidding her to go first.

After a three–second standoff, Susan didn’t dare to offend Ali. She slowly walked towards Estelle, lowered her head, and awkwardly said, “Estelle, I’m sorry!”

Estelle put down the book in her hand and turned to her, asking puzzledly, Huh? What?”

Susan frowned tight and looked miserable. She hesitated and said, “I’m apologizing to you in advance. No matter what I say later, please don’t be mad.”

Estelle replied calmly, “Go ahead!
