Chapter 399

The 45th floor was full of luxury suites, with fancy and elegant decorations. Walking on the thick, plush corridor carpet, it was absolutely quiet.

Hattie waited in her own room for a while until her late-night snack arrived. She took the food box and went out, found the waiter responsible for the 45th floor, and asked with a smile, “Excuse me, which room is Mr. Lamont in? I’m here to bring him something. He’s probably taking a shower, so he didn’t answer the phone.”

The waiter replied, “4501 is Mr. Lamont’s exclusive suite. Let me take you there.”

“No need, I can go by myself!” Hattie smiled and walked towards room 4501.

She knocked on the door, and a few seconds later, it opened. Jonathan looked at her in surprise, “What are you doing here?”

Hattie raised the late-night snack in her hand, winked, and gently said, “I noticed Mr. Lamont didn’t eat much tonight, so I specially ordered this late-night snack for you!” “No need!” Jonathan said and tried to close the door.

“Mr. Lamont!” Hattie quickly blocked the door with her hand, bit her lip, and hesitated to speak, “Actually, I want to ask for Mr. Lamont’s help. Malloy’s been pursuing me and pestering me on set. Today I was forced to come with him, and he’s still waiting for me downstairs. If I leave now, he definitely won’t let me off easy.”

Jonathan glanced at her, picked up the phone on the table, and called the front desk. The front desk confirmed Malloy was indeed still sitting in the lobby. He hung up the phone and said coldly, “Don’t be afraid. I’ll call Jeremy right now!”

“Don’t call!” Hattie shook her head, her eyes brimming with tears, and her voice shaky, “If you call, Mr. Hearn will definitely scold Malloy out of fear. He’ll leave today, but he’ll hold a grudge. It will be hard for me to stay in the film crew. You can’t protect me all the time, Mr. Lamont, and I want to continue filming. So please don’t call him.”

She bit her lip, looking at Jonathan pleadingly, “Please let me stay in the room for a while. Just for a while. When Malloy leaves, I’ll go too!”

As she spoke, she lowered her head, half shy, half pleading, “Considering that I was willing to help you before, so please, Mr. Lamont, help me this time!”

Jonathan, feeling dizzy and annoyed from his drunkenness, thought he did owe Hattie a favor, so he opened the door and said, “Come in!”

Hattie’s eyes lit up, grateful towards him, “Thank you, thank you, Mr. Lamont!”

She closed the door and followed Jonathan into the room.

The room was dimly lit with only one floor lamp on, showing off the luxurious brown-toned decor, high- end leather sofas, genuine silk carpets, marble countertops… it’s the epitome of extravagance.

Jonathan said softly, “Sit down. I’m going to take a shower.”

“Okay, Mr. Lamont. I’ll just stay for a while and leave when Malloy is gone.” Hattie showed an innocent and gentle smile.

Jonathan nodded slightly and headed towards the master bedroom.

Hattie leaned against the sofa, sent a message to Amy with instructions, and then turned off her phone.

She walked to the balcony, and enjoyed the bustling night view of J City, her eyes shining.

Suddenly there was a ringing cellphone. Startled, she thought it was Malloy calling, but after calming down, she realized her phone was off, and it was Jonathan’s on the table.

Hattie glanced at the master bedroom, tiptoed over, picked up the phone and looked at it, her eyes narrowing.

The caller was labeled as “Sweetheart Ella”.
