Chapter 445

Yvonne continued to explain softly, “Emily, you got it wrong. My aunt didn’t come to help Nora beg for your forgiveness. She just felt guilty that she didn’t teach Nora well and caused you to get hurt. She simply wanted to see you and apologize to you.”

Emily’s face grew even paler, and she kept her head lowered, remaining silent.

Yvonne continued her persuasion, emphasizing her aunt’s concern. “My aunt didn’t sleep a wink last night. She only relaxed after hearing that you were safe. Despite Nora’s actions, my aunt truly cares about you.”

Estelle spoke gently, advocating for Emily’s need for rest. “Emily had nightmares throughout the night. The doctor advised her to take proper rest. I believe we should give her a few more days before visiting again.”

Yvonne pondered for a moment and smiled. “Estelle is right. I didn’t consider these factors. Let’s wait until Emily has recovered a bit more, and then I’ll bring my aunt to visit.”

As she spoke, she took out a card from her bag, “This is from my aunt. The money on this card covers hospital fees and health supplements after discharge.”

Crystal’s eyes sparkled, and she reached out for the card, “That’s so kind of your aunt

However, Estelle took the card before Crystal could, and asked Yvonne, “How much money is in it?”

Yvonne replied, “I’m not sure. It’s from my aunt. She just told me to give it to Emily as hospital fees.”

Estelle, with her clear eyes, returned the card to Yvonne, “As for the hospital fees and compensation afterward, there will be an agreement. We don’t know how much money is in here, so we can’t accept

it.”

Crystal’s expression darkened slightly, and she cast a subtle glare in Estelle’s direction.

Yvonne chuckled in response. “Estelle, you’re overthinking it. My aunt simply wanted to cover Emily’s hospital expenses.”

Estelle maintained her stance. “Let’s wait for the official verdict and follow the proper procedures for compensation.”

Yvonne looked at Estelle and offered a faint smile. “Alright, then I’ll return the money for now.”

After conversing for a while longer, Yvonne bid her farewells and Crystal accompanied her out of the room.

Outside the patient’s room, Yvonne smiled and addressed Crystal. “You’re Emily’s sister–in–law, right? Could I have your contact information? That way, I can check on Emily through you.”

“Of course, of course!” Crystal was flattered and quickly gave Yvonne her phone number.

Yvonne furrowed her eyebrows slightly, “Estelle is too cautious. In fact, my aunt really just wanted to help Emily.”

Upon hearing this, Crystal was even more annoyed with Estelle’s behavior, “That was Estelle’s idea, and she doesn’t represent our family.”

Yvonne nodded, “That’s good. Well, I need to go now. You should take care of Emily!”

“Ah, alright!” Crystal escorted Yvonne all the way to the elevator and waved goodbye with a beaming smile.

Thinking about knowing a big star, Crystal’s vanity suddenly reached its peak!

She regretted not taking a photo with Yvonne earlier so she could show off on Facebook.

Back in the room, Crystal complained, “They hurt Emily. They should compensate us for medical expenses, lost wages, and nutrition fees. Why did you give the money back?”

Estelle explained, “If they went directly to the hospital to pay the fees, I wouldn’t stop them. But she handed us a card with an unknown amount of money, which Emily obviously couldn’t accept. Otherwise, it would be difficult to explain later.”

Emily immediately said, “I understand. We definitely can’t accept that money.”

Crystal thought that a wealthy family like Yvonne’s wouldn’t care about this little money. But since she didn’t know Estelle’s identity, she didn’t dare to offend her rashly, so she just awkwardly laughed, “It was my lack of consideration.”

The three of them chatted casually for a bit and then changed the subject.
