Chapter 823

Fast–forwarding halfway through, Estelle’s voice suddenly came out of nowhere, “I didn’t think that far, but I did approach him with an agenda.”

Then, a strange woman’s voice followed, “Just as I predicted, I’ve got foresight. I guessed it all when you first started tutoring at the Lamont family.”

Upon hearing this, Gwen’s heart skipped a beat. She quickly rewound the recording to the start of Estelle’s conversation with the girl and listened without missing a

word.

From the girl asking “Jonathan still doesn’t know your true identity?” to the ensuing dialogue, she listened to it three times over.

Gwen’s heart was pounding. It seemed like she had stumbled upon Estelle’s secret!

After turning off the recorder, Gwen was in a daze for quite a while.

What did the girl’s words mean? What was Estelle’s real identity? What was the purpose of her getting close to Jonathan? Did Jonathan know about this?

Questions swarmed Gwen’s mind. She clutched the recorder tightly, her palm growing sweaty. Should she erase what she had recorded?

A few drops of cold rain fell, seeping into her collar. She shivered. She should delete the recording without hesitation and protect Estelle’s secret, but she found herself hesitating.

Gwen felt conflicted, her mind in a whirl and her heart filled with unease.

Her phone, which was in her pocket, suddenly rang. Gwen was startled and took a moment to answer it.

“Hey, Gwen, where are you? Your scene with Yvonne is up next. Hurry up!”

“Oh, I’m on my way!”

After answering, Gwen hung up the phone and stared at the recorder in her hand.

After a while, she turned off the recorder, put it in her pocket, and left.

Estelle had been busy for an hour and returned to her own courtyard. She didn’t see Gwen till the end of the day.

She gave the dessert that Magdalen had brought over to Craig, telling him to give it to Gwen when he saw her.

The weather was bad, so the crew wrapped up earlier than usual.

As Estelle was packing up her stuff, Jonathan’s car pulled up.

She crossed the courtyard, exited through a side door, and headed west toward the parking lot.

“Estelle!”

Gwen’s voice suddenly echoed from behind.

Estelle turned around, “Did you drive here?”

“Yeah!” Gwen hooked her arm through Estelle’s and said with a smile, “President Lamont here to pick you up again?”

“Mm–hm.”

Estelle nodded and walked side by side with Gwen.

When they reached the parking lot, Jonathan stepped out of his car, holding a coat and an umbrella.

The rain was light, and their hair was just slightly damp as they walked over without an umbrella.

“See you tomorrow!” Estelle waved goodbye to Gwen and walked toward Jonathan, who was wearing a dark suit.

Gwen waved back, her other hand subconsciously reaching into her bag to grip the recorder. Her gaze followed the man who was affectionately wrapping his arm around Estelle’s shoulders, her expression complex.

It wasn’t until Jonathan’s car drove away that Gwen came to her senses and hurried to her own car.
