“What kind of favor?” Josiah’s laid-back demeanor was replaced by a sharp gaze.
“I need you to help me find Wolverine Zack’s face took on a serious expression. Tve heard whispers that Wolverine’s crew is operating near Kulha Mountain They’re moving goods to Blackcrystal and obviously dealing in illegal trades.”
Is your mission to disrupt their trade?” Josiah squinted at Zack
“No!” Zack said coldly, “I don’t have a mission. I just want Wolverine dead?”.
Josiah looked puzzled.
“Killing Wolverine is a personal matter. In my last mission, Wolverine killed my best mate. I want revenge for my brother. But, you know my status. I can’t take action on my own. That’s why I need your help.”
“What kind of help?”
“Wolverine’s a cautious one. He’s not at Kulha Mountain right now. I want you to go to Kulha, lay low and keep an eye on his whereabouts. We might not be friends, but we can still do business together. I’ll pay whatever fee you ask. If you can help me kill him, the fee will be doubled!”
Kulha Mountain is on the border of Blackcrystal. Its complex terrain and no-man’s-land status make it a hot spot for illegal trades. Josiah seemed to be mulling it over.
He knew that their organization was also hunting for Wolverine, so they could totally take on this job.
“Any questions?” Zack asked.
“Why didn’t you just post the job on Eagle Valley’s mission board? Why come to me?”
Zack answered frankly, To be honest, I don’t know much about your organization and I can’t access platforms like that given my status. I just overheard Yvonne mention your past, so I guessed you might be from Eagle Valley and sought you out.”

After leaving the 9th Mansion, Josiah went home and looked up Zack’s profile and past
Since Zack had a unique status, there wasn’t much information available. Josiah was able to confirm that Zack lost a team member during a previous mission through the Eagle Valley information network.
After considering his options, he pinged the Snow Hawk. “Got news about Wolverine”
After a day of drafting designs, Estelle looked up to find the sky outside her window turning dark.
She went to refill her water cup. She came back and saw a message from Eagle Valley.
She opened it and her expression instantly turned serious. She typed rapidly. “What news?”
Goshawk replied quickly, “Someone wants to kill Wolverine. They’ve confirmed he’s heading to Kulha Mountain and want us to track him. Should we take the job?”
Estelle narrowed her eyes slightly. “Who is it and why didn’t they post the job on the mission board?”
Josiah thought for a moment before deciding to hide Zack’s identity. “Probably afraid of getting caught.”
“And how did he find you?”
“A friend we’ve worked with before introduced us.”
Estelle had no idea that Josiah’s identity had been exposed and didn’t question it much further. She had doubts, but wouldn’t pass up such an opportunity, if there was even a slight chance.
