Chapter 916

Three days later, Magdalen and Xavier got the news. They drove together to a mansion in the suburbs.

When they got out of the car, Magdalen’s legs were so weak she almost fell over. Xavier quickly caught her.

Magdalen looked pale. She slowly straightened herself up and whispered, “I’m fine!”

They were led by a servant into the room. Seeing Estelle lying on the bed, Magdalen suddenly burst into tears.

Xavier, already on edge, jumped at her sudden crying. He could hear the deep fear in her cries. Estelle had regained consciousness the night before, but she couldn’t move. She was lying on the bed in a daze when she was awakened by Magdalen’s crying.

She opened her eyes, looked towards the door, gave a faint smile and said in a hoarse voice, “I didn’t die, why are you crying?”

Seeing Estelle’s unfocused eyes, Magdalen was so heartbroken she couldn’t speak. She could only cry, gasping for breath, like a child.

“Xavier, are you there too? Tell her to stop crying!” Estelle frowned, “Her crying is giving me a headache!”

She hadn’t died at the hands of her enemies, but she almost got scared to death by Magdalen’s wailing.

Magdalen tried to control her grief, walked to the bedside, and held Estelle’s hand. She tremblingly said, “You don’t need Xavier to calm me down. He was already looking awful when he got here. You

should think about how to comfort him!”

Estelle couldn’t see where Xavier was, she just smiled and said, “Xavier, we’ll be fine from now on!”

Xavier suddenly felt like crying, he turned his head to look out the window, closed his mouth tightly, and didn’t speak.

“You two chat. I’ll step out for a bit!” After saying that, Xavier turned around and left.

Magdalen watched Xavier’s lonely figure and chuckled deliberately, “See, I knew Xavier would get upset!”

Estelle took a deep breath, “He’s just relieved, we’re both still alive!”

Magdalen choked again, “Ella, is this the last time?”

Estelle nodded gently. “Yes, the last time!”

Magdalen’s tears started flowing again, “You really, really have me worried!”

For the past few days, she had been calling Estelle but her phone was always switched off. Morrison sent people to Kulha Mountain, but there was no news,

She was afraid to sleep at night, every time she slept, she would dream of Estelle lying on the ground covered in blood. If she couldn’t find Estelle soon, she was going to lose it!

She knew on the way there that Estelle couldn’t see anymore. It was okay. She would find the best doctors in the world to treat her eyes. If they couldn’t fix it, she would be her eyes from now on!

Xavier sat on the stone steps outside, feeling heavy-hearted, almost out of breath.

Suddenly, footsteps came from behind, a handsome man sat down next to him and softly said, “I was one step too late, which let her get so seriously injured?” Xavier hung his head, eyes closed, “I’m sorry, I couldn’t protect her!”

“It’s not your fault! Gabriel patted his shoulder,

Xavier took a deep breath, trying to calm down, his voice became hoarse and low, “I used to blame her, thinking she was cold-hearted, but she was the one who took care of Wolf’s family and insisted on avenging them.”
