Clarice glanced at Estelle but didn’t speak
Gwen looked at Mr. Kress, “I trust Estelle. Nobody would be daft enough to do this.”
Clarice snapped, “Gwen, you’re such a saint. She slapped you and here you are, defending her! It’s because she knows no one would believe she’d do this, that’s why
she did it!”
Gwen acted as if the past incident never happened and asked with concern, “Estelle, could you explain?”
“Of course I didn’t do it. But finding out the truth will take time. This dress is unusable now. I’ll pick another one for Gwen so we don’t delay the shoot,’ Estelle
explained methodically
Mr Kress said coldly. “Change the dress? Do you know how important this scene is to the whole play? Do you know how much the brand has spent to tailor this dress for the scene? Do you think their money grows on trees?”
Estelle calmly replied, “We could ask GK Jewelry studio to send another dress. That wouldn’t affect the final result of the play.”
Mr Kress laughed, “Estelle, you’re so naive. You think they would just send a dress because you asked?”
Estelle said lightly, “Gwen is the ambassdor of GK Jewelry studio. It shouldn’t be a problem.”
Gwen frowned, “Even though I’m the ambassdor for GK Jewelry studio, they might not agree to replace the dress. You know how high–end brands like GK Jewelry studio have their own rules. They don’t let their haute couture dresses be worn casually”
Estelle slowly said, “I will make a call. They will send a dress according to Gwen’s size, and I guarantee it won’t be inferior to this one.”
A few snickers sounded around her
“You think you can get GK Jewelry studio to send a dress? That’s ridiculous.” Mr. Kress sneered at Estelle.
He leaned in towards Estelle, lowering his voice, “Why don’t you beg me? I’ll help you solve this problem, how about it?”
Instead of answering, Estelle asked, “If I can get GK Jewelry studio to send a new dress, can we continue shooting?”
Mr Kress scoffed, “Sure, as long as you can get GK to send a new dress, we’ll let it slide!”
Estelle nodded, took out her phone and went aside to make a call.
Mr. Kress sat down on a chair nearby, mocking, “This is Snowy Studios‘ designer? Let’s see how she wraps this up when she can’t get the dress.” Gwen shook her head with feigned concern, “Estelle might not be familiar with GK. Even I wouldn’t be able to negotiate a dress exchange so quickly.”
Clarice chimed in, “Some people only learn their lesson after they get rejected”
While they were talking, Estelle came back after finishing her call and said to Mr. Kress, who was in charge of the shoot, “It’s arranged. GK will send a new dress over soon.”
Everyone was taken aback. Mr. Kress looked at Estelle incredulously, “You sure it’s GK Jewelry studio?”
“Yes.”
Mr. Kress looked at Gwen. Seeing the surprise in her eyes, he smiled dismissively. “Well, let’s wait and see then!”
