Chapter 201: Archer Showdown
Chapter 201: Archer Showdown
After nearly dealing a fatal blow to the Forest Troll Berserker with a single strike, Shye persisted in confronting the creature directly, narrowly avoiding its attacks with the help of his decaying mana wings.
Meanwhile, kicking up a cloud of dust were the Aslan representatives who were transitioning into an aggressive stance.
They realized that Colzen would catch up if they remained passive, hence, they sprang into action.
As the party's tank, Breion courageously charged forth–a heroic glint visible in his eyes.
Instinctively drawn to the sight of a human adorned in gleaming armor charging towards it, the berserk troll's focus was immediately seized.
It then roared in a wild frenzy before madly darting towards Breion, chopping both battle axes with ferocity.
'Guardian's Avatar!' Breion thought, activating his trump card.
A huge golden avatar clad in full heavy armor then materialized, successfully blocking the incoming berserk state-empowered attack.
*CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG*
Fully living up to its berserk nature, the troll didn't even stop for a single millisecond to think, immediately deciding that the best way to destroy the guardian's avatar was through sheer force.
Thus, it chopped away–generating clanging noises with every blow.
"Damien! Move quickly! I wouldn't be able to contain this thing for long!"
'Tch! Stop f*cking ordering everyone! This is why you and Asha never get along!' Damien thought.
Wasting no time, Damien along with the two other scouts, Abel and Lesurii, quickly got into their respective positions.
The two scouts circled behind the troll while Damien positioned himself on the left side of the troll.
Once everyone was in position, they once again resumed attacking the troll, more or less producing the same damage output as the Colzen party.
Feeling his innards shake with every blow, Breion valiantly controlled the troll's aggression.
Just when the Aslan party was feeling confident again, someone from the Colzen party stepped up, once again making their hearts beat anxiously.
Kiin, knowing that two of his ultimate skills are now off cooldown, activated both at the same time once again.
As the familiar runes solidified on his cheeks and the recognizable green smoke started pulsating out of his wrists and ankles, the Colzen crowd erupted into cheers while the Aslan crowd felt nervous.
Kiin, with his ultimates active, was the most menacing archer they had seen in their entire lives. If his spinning arrows manage to pierce the troll's flesh, then one could only imagine the troll's bleak fate once Kiin continuously fired arrows until his ultimates timed out.
*FWOOOSH*
As the first arrow shot through the air accompanied by gale and loud screeching sounds, everyone supporting Aslan swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
The results of the second match depended on whether Kiin's arrow could pierce through the troll's berserk state-empowered skin and flesh.
For the Aslan crowd, time seemed to slow down to a crawl as Kiin's first arrow whistled through the air with terrifying piercing power.
Finally, under hundreds of thousands of both excited and anxious eyes, the tip of the first arrow made contact with the troll's skin.
*SPURT*
Dark-red blood fountained through the wound as the arrow continuously spun after piercing the troll's skin.
Seeing the initial results, the hearts of the Aslan crowd dropped, thinking that the fight would be over soon.
Fortunately for them, right after piercing the skin, although Kiin's arrow dug deep into the berserk troll's flesh, it wasn't able to pierce through the entire body, only remaining embedded deep in the troll's flesh.
Soon after, more arrows flew at the troll, however, the results were the same.
The arrows whittled the troll's vitality down but it wasn't enough to instantly bring the troll down.
Realizing the extent of Kiin's damage, the Aslan supporters breathed a sigh of relief.
On the other hand, the Aslan representatives weren't too enthusiastic.
They were the ones fighting the troll so they knew that although Kiin wasn't able to bring the troll down instantly, he would deal a horrifying amount of damage to the creature.
Thus, the Aslan archer representative, Mauro Chen, stepped up and used his own ultimate skill, [Arrow Rainstorm Lv.3].
An emerald magic circle suddenly appeared in front of Mauro, consuming the air around it as if it were an endless void.
Subsequently, once the magic circle had fully materialized, the Aslan archer representative immediately started shooting arrows at the magic circle.
Shockingly, after the first arrow passed through the magic circle in front of Mauro, a huge magic circle appeared right above the berserk troll's head, looking as if a god was about to smite it to smithereens.
However, instead of an obliteration beam, a rain of around ten arrows appeared from the magic circle, piercing the troll's body from above.
Although its power was weaker than Kiin's, the number of arrows made up for the lack of piercing capabilities.
Mauro didn't stop there though, after the first arrow, he continuously shot more at the magic circle in front of him.

The magic circle then multiplied the number of arrows by ten before raining it down on the berserk troll, turning it into a porcupine.
Witnessing the archer showdown, the crowd was hyped.
They burst into cheers–waving their fists in the air in excitement.
Unfortunately for the Aslan representatives, they soon realized that the exchange of ultimates wasn't equal.
This is because although the damage output of the two archers was more or less the same, Kiin only shot his arrows from a single direction allowing his allies to continue attacking the troll along with him.
On the other hand, Mauro's arrow rain restricted his allies from approaching too close, else, they would be struck by the rain of arrows as well.
Due to this, the Colzen party once again slowly caught up, making Damien gnash his teeth in anxiety.
If he ordered Mauro to stop, it might damage Mauro's pride in addition to wasting the ultimate skill.
If he didn't then the Colzen party would catch up.
Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Damien gripped the handles of his katana tighter.
