Chapter 235: Trouble, Again
Chapter 235: Trouble, Again
"Haaah…Haaah…I might've overdone it a little…" Shye mumbled as he panted in exhaustion. "Well, at least I found it quicker…"
Looking up at the sign which says "Constantine Consumables", Shye smiled.
In the past, he didn't put much importance on purchasing consumables because of a few reasons.
Initially, he wasn't financially secure. Secondly, he thought he could buy them as necessary using system points. And thirdly, he... never truly valued them because he hadn't faced a setback as severe as the recent one.
Defeating the blind kobold general unknowingly made him overconfident.
Only now did he realize that purchasing consumables in the system was the least efficient thing to use his points for.
As he struggled towards Balkrow City, he spent a total of 11,000 points in consumables for him to survive leaving him with only a little more than 21,000 points—a far cry from being able to purchase an epic talent for himself.
It seems that the old man truly wanted him to become a responsible adventurer, teaching him to never skip the preparation phase.
After all, if he purchased all those consumables he used to stay alive, it would only set him back for around three to four thousand silver coins.
Expensive? Yes, but ultimately, with his capabilities, it would be a fair bit easier and safer for him to earn silver coins than system points.
It's not every day you have an audience of 200,000 people and a legitimate reason to beat people up, after all.
Momentarily admiring the huge shop's simple yet elegant exterior, Shye entered.
Immediately after he arrived inside, he was greeted by a huge shelf displaying the shop's specialties such as potent training potions, appearance enhancers, and other various tonics.
'A-Aren't these products too expensive? Shye thought before looking around.
The shop's vast glass windows allowed warm sunlight to stream in, casting a valiant golden glow across each floor and fully accentuating the shop's opulent aesthetics.
Numerous high-end shelves showcased an extensive range of products, seemingly enchanting customers and urging them to approach and make a purchase.
Beside the wide entrance were neatly arranged spatial shopping baskets that could store ten cubic meters worth of consumables while on the far left corner was a vast granite countertop manned by two staff members who were processing purchases and various other transactions.
'I like this shop.' Shye pondered as he gazed at the hanging signboards, designed to help customers find their desired products effortlessly. 'Hmm…let's see, potions first…'
Grabbing a spatial shopping basket, Shye sauntered towards the potion section, admiring products from other shelves on the way.
Upon arriving at the said section, Shye grabbed potions like there was no tomorrow, prompting those shopping near him to turn their heads and widen their eyes in disbelief.
He looked like a young adventurer so they doubted his capabilities to pay for the products.
Unintentionally, he stirred a small commotion, attracting the attention of more shoppers as he explored different sections and floors, grabbing excessive amounts of each product.
After shopping for almost an hour and a half, Shye felt satisfied.
'Well, that should be everything I need…probably even more…' he thought, walking towards the granite countertop to pay for the products.
When he entered the shop, there were two staff members in charge of processing the purchases, however, at this time, there was only one available counter.
Luckily, there wasn't a queue.
Feeling fortunate, Shye quickened his pace, placing the spatial shopping basket atop the granite desk promptly after arriving.
What he didn't anticipate was that there were three people behind him, seemingly impatient and in a bad mood for having to wait for him to finish his transaction.
We all know what these people would do in the next few seconds.
You've guessed it right!
Start trouble.
"Ha! Poor stray dogs from Raven's Blade could afford to shop here now?" the man in the middle donning a full set of gold-tier mage equipment said with a mocking tone, prompting Shye to turn his head and halting the cashier's attempt at taking Shye's products out of the shopping basket.
Naturally, Shye, who was easily angered the past few days, felt rage once again boiling inside his heart.
If not for him actively observing his emotions, he would've responded in a way that would result in trouble for sure.
'Calm down…these stupid shitheads aren't worth your time…' he thought, taking a deep breath to try and calm his infuriated heart down.
In most cases, he wouldn't back down, however, he hated his current emotional fragility so for the sake of trying to control his anger, Shye simply grabbed his shopping basket and allowed the loathsome bastards to process their transaction first.
"Hmmph, at least you know your place." The idiot in the middle followed up, once again igniting the anger in Shye's heart.
Luckily, just before trouble escalated, another cashier hurried to the counter, breathing heavily as she gestured for Shye to bring his items.
Due to this, the fury in Shye's heart diminished by a small bit, enough for him to temporarily ignore the hateful bastards, however, the irked expression never left his face even as he helped the cashier take the items out.
Just a short while later though, he learned another valuable life lesson: if you seem vulnerable in front of bullies, they will walk all over you.
"Sir, do you happen to have a Constantine Consumables membership card?" the cashier inquired, as it was customary for them to ask customers, allowing cashiers to swipe the card and provide an appropriate discount based on the tier of membership.
Shye was about to reply "no", however, just before he could do so, the familiar irritating voice of the man in the middle of the three sounded beside him.
"Hahahaha! How could this poor dog even afford one? Surely you jest."
[Congratulations! Your wisdom attribute increased from 50 to 53!]
The middle man's words were the final straw that broke the camel's back, or in this case, the final insult that snapped Shye's thinning patience.
'Haaah…I tried…I tried…Why do people always insist? Alright then, I'll give all of you the trouble that you want.'
