Chapter 276: Legendary Bracelet
Chapter 276: Legendary Bracelet
"Ten bottles of top-grade physique training tonics, sold to the young man on seat number 42 for 35,000 silver coins! Congratulations!"
Liu Meixiu's alluring voice once again resounded in the entire venue, bringing Shye, who was still thinking about how crazy people could get, back to reality.
'Well, at least that's 340,000 coins less for one of my potential competitors!' Shye thought to himself, realizing that the crazy bidding war earlier slightly worked out in his favor.
Refocusing his attention on the next item, ten bottles of peak-grade mana pool enhancement tonic, Shye couldn't help but ponder whether he should join in or not.
If one thing was normal about him as a mage, it would be his mana pool.
He wanted to upgrade it; however, he also didn't want to lose the chance to bid for better items, thus, he was stuck in a dilemma.
His inexperience in auctions, biting at him hard.
"37,000 silver coins!"
"38,500 silver coins!"
The bids already surpassed the last item's price, hence, Shye restrained his urge to bid on it, considering that Drone might be able to procure him similar consumables with similar effects.
If so, then it would be better for him to use his partnership than meaninglessly bid here.
As Shye observed the ten bottles of peak-grade mana enhancement tonics slip into another bidder's possession, a pang of disappointment tugged at his heart.
Nonetheless, he consoled himself by thinking that this was a strategic move that would allow him to purchase a better item later.
The next two items didn't catch his attention, making him yawn in boredom.
"Congratulations to the winner of our fifth item! Now, for the sixth, we have this…seemingly obsolete bracelet. However, do not underestimate this item as this was retrieved by a powerful adventurer from a tomb protected by an (A) class monstrous creature. The starting bid for this item is 10,000 silver coins with increments of 500.
Let the bidding commence!" Liu Meixiu exclaimed with enthusiasm, mirroring her customary fervor displayed for previous items.
Deep down, she felt nervous.
This item was the most mysterious of them all, and since it came through connections, they had to give it a shot, even though she wasn't sure if it was any good.
At worst, it would be nothing but an overpriced accessory.
Hopefully, someone would purchase it, otherwise, her reputation as Blackburrow City's top-ranked auctioneer would suffer a blow.
Unfortunately for her, most of the people attending this auction were either broke or experienced, hence, people hesitated to bid on such a hit-or-miss item.
Moreover, they knew that auctions would throw in an item or two such as this one in the middle of the event.
The atmosphere quickly turned awkward, making Liu Meixiu inwardly panic—a stark contrast to her jolly and enthusiastic exterior.

'H-Holy sh*t…a l-legendary item?!' Shye inwardly exclaimed in utter shock and disbelief.
This was the first time he ever encountered an item of such rarity.
It seemed to be dysfunctional though.
Still, he would be a fool to not grab such a huge piece of pie that fell from the sky.
Although the item wasn't working right now, it didn't mean that it would stay defective forever, thus, with a barely suppressed excited voice, Shye exclaimed a bid through the microphone located at the table beside him.
"5,500 silver coins!"
Naturally, his irksome high-pitched voice immediately earned him the ire of a few individuals, prompting them to think that he was simply bidding for the item to get on Liu Meixiu's good side.
They sneered at him in disdain.
Little did they know, Shye was trembling in excitement right now.
Albeit defective, if he could get such an item for only 5,500 silver coins, then it would simply be a steal!
As for Auctioneer Meixiu, she was ecstatic.
It didn't matter to her whether the item fetched a high price or not.
As long as it was sold, then her reputation was safe, hence, with an enthusiastic tone, she spoke:
"5,500 silver coins, going once."
"Going twice"
"Sold! Congratulations to our esteemed guest at super deluxe room 36. One of our staff members shall deliver the item to you shortly."
Now that her lone problem was solved, Liu Meixiu became even more energetic, immediately pulling the next cart containing the seventh item: a unique-tier herb.
Shye had no use for such things though—not right now, at least.
Out of the next three items, Shye bid on the ninth item, ten bottles of peak-grade, recovery potions; and obtained it for 25,000 silver coins.
This item would be useful for him, someone who is both a warrior and a mage, potentially even rescuing him in the midst of battle by swiftly replenishing his health and mana reserves to a significant extent.
If there was anything he lacked now, it was life-saving items, hence, purchasing a few for 25,000 silver coins was actually a nice deal.
Finally, following the auction of ten preceding items, one of the items he was aiming for was presented.
As two staff members pushed a small cart adorned with a delicate yet refined blanket towards the center of the stage, Auctioneer Meixiu approached, gently pulling back the cover to unveil the eleventh item: a skill book of unique tier.
"Warrior-class adventurers, celebrate! Our eleventh item is a [Unique]-tier skill book. While it may not inflict direct damage, it promises to pose significant challenges for all foes, whether monstrous creatures or fellow adventurers. For further details, please consult the holographic screen that will soon appear above me."
