Chapter 1014 I Will Cherish Him

“Don’t worry, Mr. Campbell passed away swiftly and didn’t suffer,” Amelia whispered reassuringly, patting Mandy on the shoulder. “He managed to move all of us out of the organization before he passed. It’s just that we couldn’t find you in time…” Amelia stopped mid-sentence, but Mandy could guess what she meant. It seemed that Ronnie had his concerns when he left. Mandy took a deep breath. “It’s my fault…” “It has nothing to do with you!” Amelia cut her off sharply. “Jack has explained everything to us. Since all this was Bruce’s deliberate doing, how is it related to you? I remember you were never one to wallow in self-pity in the past.” In truth, the most innocent person in this whole affair was Mandy. Being with Bruce was Emma’s choice. Plotting against Emma was Bruce’s decision. Yet Mandy, oblivious to everything, had been blaming herself for

years. “Once you’ve left the group, just live your life,” Amelia’s gaze casually drifted over to Jack, causing him to stand up straight instantly. Amelia chuckled, “You should know that after we left the group, we scattered worldwide. It’s not easy to track us all down.” Mandy followed Amelia’s gaze to Jack. She never imagined that the decision she made under the influence of drugs would bring her such an unexpected connection. “I’ll cherish him,” Mandy said, she looked at Jack. Even though they were some distance apart, it felt as though no one could come between them. The party’s noise slowly subsided, and a cheerful Mandy, having enjoyed herself thoroughly, was helped back to the hotel by Jack. Jack initially intended to get a towel to help Mandy clean up, but she grabbed

him, almost causing both to tumble onto the bed. Mandy smiled. “Jack, do me. Can you?” Her words, as always, ignited the passion within Jack. He no longer rushed to grab the towel and lay beside Mandy. They looked at each other, and it seemed they both saw a flicker of rising flames in each other’s gaze. Two blazing flames suddenly clashed, igniting an even larger, more intense fire, threatening to consume them entirely. Mandy lost count of how many times she had been drenched in sweat and then dried. All she knew was that she felt like a fish in the ocean, sinking and rising, yearning for air yet intoxicated by it. The next day, Mandy woke up with a sore body. The slightest movement made her realize something was amiss. She turned to look at her fingers and noticed a large diamond ring on her ring finger, not knowing when it had been put there. Being well-acquainted with jewelry, Mandy instantly recognized it as a highquality natural diamond with a price exceeding seven figures. Even with Jack’s hefty salary, it wouldn’t be easy for him to afford such a luxury. Just then, Jack entered with breakfast. Seeing Mandy had noticed the ring, he smiled and asked, “Do you like it?” Mandy raised an eyebrow in surprise. “How are you so sure I’d accept your proposal?” Jack shook his head. “This ring can mean whatever you want it to. If you’re willing, it’s our engagement ring. If not, consider it a birthday gift from me. Either way, it won’t bind you to anything.”
