Chapter 343

Chapter 343: Pay Me Back

Ten minutes earlier, Xiang Ning gently laid his sleeping sister against Su Muhan’s shoulder, then stood up and whispered, “I need to go to the toilet. Help me take care of my sister for a bit, Miss.”

“Alright, go then.” Su Muhan gently held Xiaoyu, then her brows suddenly furrowed and she shot at him, “How are you going to the front lines?”

“I have my Windbreaker—ah! Ptui! I’m just going to the toilet, what are you talking about?” Xiang Ning’s cheek twitched and he almost slapped himself for his stupidity. His cultivation was gone, and his mental power was gone, but was his intelligence gone too?! josei

“Hehe.” Su Muhan’s eyes turned cold. “Do you want to leave your sister alone with no family? You have no cultivation, why’re you going to the front lines? Are you stupid?” Su Muhan had never cursed since she was sixteen, but she broke her own record today, fuming at Xiang Ning.

“Teacher… I.…” Xiang Ning wanted to explain himself, but couldn’t get a word in with Su Muhan’s rapid fire dressing down until even he was questioning his own choices. He quickly waved and interrupted, “Teacher, teacher, calm down. Listen to me. I… I’ve recovered. My cultivation is back. It’s true, I’m not lying.”

“Do you really think I’m stupid? Or do you think because I’m always so nice to you, you can lie so blatantly to me, or—” Before she finished, she suddenly stopped.

Su Muhan wanted to say something, but he interrupted, “Teacher, don’t wake my sister. I’ve rested enough, and she’s grown up, too. I’ve done most of the things I should do, this is just one or two months earlier than planned. I feel way too guilty for making you all worry about me, that’s why I’m asking you to take good care of her.” After saying that, Xiang Ning turned to leave. Although there weren’t many people in the bunker, they recognized him and could sense his frail body suddenly radiate an intimidating, god-like aura. Their eyes widened, but before they could make it out, the aura disappeared. Everything went back to the way it was before, as if nothing had happened. Some people wondered if they had made a mistake.

Xiang Ning arrived at the entrance of the bunker. Two combat class teachers guarded it, blocking him from leaving. “Xiang Ning, you can’t leave. It’s too dangerous out there!”

“Yeah, if anything happens to you, Mr. Headmaster is going to skin me alive!”

“Teachers, I was actually here only to deliver my sister to safety, it’s time for me to take my position,” said Xiang Ning.

“What position?” One of them planned to lecture Xiang Ning, but the other teacher made way for him, opening a small door that could fit one person. It was supposed to be for other civilians to enter.

“Hey, are you mad? Why’d you open the door?” yelled the teacher, but Xiang Ning gently blocked him. He stumbled three steps back, staring at him in shock.

“You.…”

Xiang Ning grinned, then stepped out and disappeared.

“Our Chosen One is back,” the other teacher smirked.

Xiang Ning left the bunker and jogged to the school gates. He double-tapped the watch on his wrist; his Windbreaker would arrive in five minutes.

His presence was discovered by a trio of special trainees from his school, who were rushing past.

“Teacher… Xiang Ning, why did you come out?”

“Yeah, it’s too dangerous here!”

Xiang Ning frowned at their reactions. What was the matter? Unless… had the first defensive perimeter been broken? It had only been a few minutes, that was impossible, right?

“What happened?” he asked.

“We don’t know. More than seventy beasts suddenly appeared in the southeastern corner of our campus, and when we discovered them, the soldiers were already fighting!”

“Southeast?” Xiang Ning’s brows were knitted. “Who’s gone there?”

“All of the stronger students have been sent there. We’re only patrolling now to see if there’s any other beasts who slipped inside.”

“Alright, be careful.” Xiang Ning left using the Shadowmist Ghost Step.

“Alright… wait, no, this… holy shit!”

The students were stunned. Didn’t they say Teacher Xiang Ning had lost all of his cultivation abilities? How could he run so fast?!

“What are you staring at? Report this immediately!”

“Hey, can’t you do it?”

“Shut up, hurry!”

When the news was sent, it very quickly spread to Qi Jiuming, who nearly sliced the Ghostblade Mantis’ head off as he cursed vulgarly. “Has he gone mad?” A green vein popped on his forehead, and the initially drawn-out match turned lopsided when he stabbed one of the mantis’ eyes in rage.

The Ghostblade Mantis loudly hissed, its gigantic body wildly writhing as it blindly slashed at the ground, buildings, and trees, leaving behind deep cuts. It provided Qi Jiuming an opportunity to attack once more.

Due to the layers that the information had to go through, news of Xiang Ning’s possible recovery hadn’t traveled very far as of yet. And because of the urgent situation, and no one listening clearly, all they knew was that Xiang Ning had run out of the bunkers. That was huge news! Xiang Ning held a certain status in the city, he had been given the Broken Blade Knight medal, and with his reputation, the school would be cursed out by the entire city if anything happened to him!

“Where’s that brat now?”

“Surveillance found that he had left the school compound. I think he’s heading toward you! And I think he’s back!”

“What? Here? What do you mean by ‘he’s back?’”Qi Jiuming wanted to kick the messenger after listening to the hurried report. He was left in confusion. If Xiang Ning was heading toward him, but he was also ‘back’, what was ‘back’? The bunker? Qi Jiuming’s mind raced, missing his chance to strike the mantis again.

As he was about to get a few teachers to search for Xiang Ning and protect him, a familiar figure appeared in his peripheral vision. “You brat! What the hell are you doing!”

Xiang Ning appeared from around a corner, looking so confident that it stunned Qi Jiuming. What was that feeling? Why was it so peculiar…?

“I want to kill beasts,” he smirked, looking up at Qi Jiuming.

“Shut your mouth.” Qi Jiuming wanted to instruct two teachers to protect him when he heard a whoosh behind him. He internally shouted, NO! Before he turned, there were three sounds of metal shattering, then Xiang Ning’s voice. He wanted to punch that brat so badly.

“Don’t look at me. I won’t ask for much, just buy me three Hunter Mk. 6 flying knives,” Xiang Ning chuckled, looking at him.
