Volume 2, Chapter 39: Feast of Revenant Dragon ?
?R-Rawnpoop was… cut in half? What sort of physical strength must that undead have to bisect… Guiref-sama’s spirit??
Manzi was simply speechless. He couldn’t believe the spectacle that unfolded in front of him.
Lambert stood with his greatsword ready between the two halves of Rawnpoop.
Facing another wave of undead, he stepped on the wreckage of undead that were destroyed by the shockwave of the attack that he used to bisect Rawnpoop.
But Lambert ignored the lowly undead created by Lilith since they couldn’t do anything to him.
He was completely focused on the two bisected parts of Rawnpoop.
?You think this kind of injury was enough to kill Rawnpoop? How dare you proclaim yourself as Guiref’s successor, greenhorn.?
Lambert spoke to Manzi with a bored voice the moment he heard the latter’s lament.
And as if to prove that, Rawnpoop, who was stirring in pain a moment ago, returned to a crawling position.
It wasn’t just the head that began to crawl—so did the tail.
As if to surround him, the two divided parts of Rawnpoop crawled around Lambert while smashing the undead army controlled by Lilith.
That was one of Rawnpoop’s traits. Even if it was cut in two, the parts which lost their head could still move around on their own for a while.
Manzi might have had no idea about this fact, but from his experience against Guiref, Lambert knew Rawnpoop’s special trait was its overwhelming vitality.
And the only way to deal with Rawnpoop was to reduce its size bit by bit.
But when Rawnpoop was divided into two big parts like this, it only meant that Lambert increased the number of opponents.
A slight miscalculation could result in the other party cornering him.
Both of Rawnpoop’s halves rushed toward Lambert at once.
He lost count of how many times he parried and struck Rawnpoop’s body.
Making use of a gap in the other’s defenses, Lambert dodged each attack that came his way.
He used the flat side of his greatsword to change the orbit of Rawnpoop’s movement.
Rawnpoop’s attack gouged the ground and changed the terrain.
And despite their missing limbs, Lilith’s undead army kept rushing toward Lambert.
But none of them could reach Lambert since they were destroyed by Rawnpoop’s indiscriminate violence.
They were pummeled into the ground until they were lumps of meat, and yet, they kept trying to reach Lambert.
Although Manzi was dumbfounded for a while, he soon snapped back to his senses.
‘W… What’s happening here? Is this really… Barreira City?’
After summoning Rawnpoop and Lilith, Manzi couldn’t understand the hellish scenery unfolding before him.
Summoning Rawnpoop due to his distorted sense of beauty, Manzi often said that it was normal for a necromancer to transform the world into a world filled with undead. However, the hell before him had actually brought fear in him.
And then, he remembered that Lambert evaluation about him was ?Just a greenhorn who was being manipulated by a book?.
‘N-No! I… inherited Guiref’s will! I should be standing above all Wisemen of ?Devil’s Piper?…’
At this moment, with his confidence crushed to bits by Lambert’s overwhelming prowess, Manzi glared at the battle between Lambert and Rawnpoop.
Maybe because it was getting irritated by Lambert who was moving fluidly to dodge its attacks, Rawnpoop changed its movement pattern.
Suddenly, the head part drew away from the battlefield.
The remaining tail part started moving even more wildly than before, knocking up the ground beneath them.
The tail knocked against Lambert, who failed to pick up on the change in situation in time.
The giant tail struck Lambert right on his back, sending him flying in midair.
?Y-YAAAY! FINALLY, THEY DID IT…! GUIREF-SAMA’S RAWNPOOP IS INVINCIBLE…?
But that attack was far from enough to finish Lambert.
The full-plate Organ armour, which boasted an overwhelming defensive power, protected Lambert from almost all of Rawnpoop’s large-scale attacks.
Even when his body was knocked up in the air, Lambert didn’t let go of his greatsword as he was aiming for a counter.
At that moment, Rawnpoop’s tail landed one after another attack on Lambert.
Lambert’s body was flicked to the side along with a loud, thunderous sound.
Where that attack threw Lambert, the head part was waiting. Its huge, bulging head knocked the defenceless Lambert again.
Lambert was sent flying for the second time, and this time, he was sent flying toward the tail part again.
It was a strike that would continue until he died.
Lambert had no skill which would allow him to escape from that situation.
Thus, the difference between Rawnpoop—who had the most overwhelming life force amongst the superior spirits—and Lambert, a mere human-type undead, became clear.
That was why no matter how many small wounds he inflicted on Rawnpoop, it was far from enough to kill it.
And what was waiting for him once he was caught by Rawnpoop was a never-ending trampling till he died.
At last, the hand in the head part of Rawnpoop caught Lambert right on his helmet, smashing him down to the ground.
The heavy, full-plate Organ sprayed numerous sparks as Rawnpoop dragged Lambert’s body along the ground.
Rawnpoop’s speed became even faster when it dragged Lambert in a circle while raising an even creepier war cry.
?R-Rawnpoop is invincible…?
Manzi paused upon seeing Rawnpoop’s extremely vicious attack.
Finally, Lambert’s Organ helmet came off, exposing his skull.
This released Lambert from Rawnpoop’s relentless attack.
For the first time since he was revived as undead, his white skull was exposed to sunlight.
?F-Finally, he finally kicked the bucket. What a terrifying undead knight. He also knew about Guiref-sama’s grimoire… Just who the hell is he??
Rawnpoop hissed as its hand raised Lambert’s helmet.
Although they looked like it was laughing, there was no way to know what Rawnpoop really felt.
‘R-Rawnpoop is too strong and repulsive… Did I really summon this guy?’
Manzi pondered for a while as he looked up at Rawnpoop.
But then, Lambert’s voice resounded as if to snap him out of his daze.
?That’s something bestowed by My Lord as a symbol of one of the Four Demon Generals. Give it back to me.?
Lambert leapt up and cut the hand that clasped onto his helmet.
It was an attack filled with Lambert’s rage.
Manzi aside, Rawnpoop couldn’t react to Lambert’s attack since it was too engrossed, thinking that they managed to beat Lambert.
Rawnpoop’s sliced arm fluttered in the air as it fell down.
And then, Lambert’s hand caught the helmet that was thrown out from Rawnpoop’s sliced arm.
Lambert’s empty eye socket became even brighter and more sinister as he glared at Manzi.
Manzi was at a loss for words when he finally had a clear look at Lambert’s skull.
He couldn’t take a breath. It was as if a mountain was pressing down on him from above; his leg refused to move due to fear.
It was a naked, undisguised sense of oppression that couldn’t compare to what he felt before.
‘After receiving all those attacks, why can he still move? Is he really that Lambert, one of the four demon generals who led the Regios Kingdom to dominate the western half of the continent?’
