The display screens lit up with the item's details, and Shane's eyes narrowed in interest.
The +50% Stealth and +30% Armor Penetration were exactly what he needed to have in order to equip the one who would be stationed on the watchtowers he planned to make.
"Let's start the bidding at 100 Points…" The auctioneer announced, her eyes scanning the room for the first bid.

The bids came in quick succession, but none matched the determination in Shane's eyes.

A hush fell over the crowd as Shane's bid appeared on the screen. Whispers broke out among the survivors, all wondering if anyone would dare to challenge him.
They were no longer surprised at his bid and they were only curious now how much he would willingly pay for this crossbow.

[ Bidder 1892 bids 350 Points. ]
…
[ Bidder 1104 bids 475 Points. ]
[ Bidder 1101 bids 500 Points. ]
[ Bidder 1109 bids 875 Points. ]
Shane, without hesitation, placed his final bid.
[ Bidder 1101 bids 1111 Points. ]
The auctioneer smiled, "Bidder 1101 leads with 1,111 Points. Going once, going twice… Sold!"
The applause was scattered, some admiring, some envious. Travis, the Clan Leader of the Drakeheart Vanguard, nodded in acknowledgment. "He's building an arsenal," he commented quietly.
The auctioneer continued, "Our next item is the Demolitionist's Grenade Launcher with Ammo Crates. For those who prefer a more… explosive approach to crowd control."
The crowd leaned in as the details of the grenade launcher and its shrapnel rounds were displayed.

[ Bidder 1683 bids 300 Points. ]
Again, Shane waited, letting the anticipation build before placing his bid.
[ Bidder 1101 bids 1,000 Points. ]
It was no longer gasps and murmurs that filled the hall but a collective sigh as soon as he placed his bid once again.
Shane's aggressive bidding was becoming the talk of the auction.
"This is already too much…"
"Sir Bidder 1101, can you at least give us a chance to compete on this item?"
"We don't want to be enemies with you… We should help each other during this time. You can't just take all the weapons here and leave us weak."
"That's right… The second Zombie Wave will definitely come after this Auction Event. We have to acquire weapons as well."
"Please stop hoarding all the best items, Sir!"
They knew that threatening this Bidder 1,101 would only lead to further problems.
Because of that, they tried to appeal to him instead. The Grenade Launcher was simply too good! If they had that together with its ammo crate, they would surely win the next Zombie Wave they would face!
After these pleading statements, the others started bidding again, hoping that Bidder 1,101 would stop already!
[ Bidder 1820 bids 1,050 Points. ]
[ Bidder 1115 bids 1,100 Points. ]
[ Bidder 1125 bids 1,120 Points. ]
[ Bidder 1103 bids 1,190 Points. ]
[ Bidder 1107 bids 1,250 Points. ]
Several more bids came, and they all felt relieved to see that Bidder 1,101 was no longer there. There were only 30 seconds left as well for the bidding to end.
Soon, the bid reached 2,900 Points, and it was actually from the Cockroaches Clan!
"I'm Winged Python and Bidder 1125! The Clan Head of the Cockroaches Clan! Please give this Grenade Launcher to us! If you're in trouble and near our camp, Just ask us for help and we will come to you!"
Apparently, this was almost all of their accumulated Points after one of them purchased the Flamethrower outside.
They only have 13 Points left, to be exact. If someone bids again, they'd most likely lose this chance at this point.
However, Shane didn't care about that. The Grenade Launcher was simply too amazing… With this weapon, with the addition of his other defensive items like his barriers and offensive items like this grenade launcher, he could literally call his camp a fortress!
"This is mine!"
Shane entered his final bid, a number that silenced the competition.
[ Bidder 1101 bids 3,600 Points. ]
"You…" The leader of the Cockroaches Clan could only eat his words as he slowly sat down.
The auctioneer's gavel came down!
Thud! Thud! Thud!
"Sold to Bidder 1101 for 3,600 Points!"
The others could only exchange looks as their respect and annoyance for Bidder 1,101 grew even more.
"He's not just surviving; he's planning to thrive…" Travis murmured.
