Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 271: New Talent

Chapter 271: New Talent

The Zombie Rat Leader was already too weak. It couldn't even pose a challenge to him as he probably wouldn't get injured if he allowed it to bite him.

Nonetheless, it doesn't mean that he would ignore the possible items he could loot from them.

[ Do you want to retrieve its loot? ]

'Yes…' Shane replied.

[ You have earned 33 Experience Points. ]

[ You have earned 1 Reputation Point. ]

[ Loots obtained: Item Upgrade Crystal x3, Zombie Cores x3, Unknown Meat ( Safe ) x5, 100mL Zombie Rat Leader Blood, Spirit Enhancement Bottle x2, Infected Fang Necklace x1, Rodentbane Blade x1 ]

"A reputation point is always welcome…" Shane muttered after seeing his loot. Furthermore, he also couldn't help but feel glad to see two new items.

Unfortunately, the Infected Fang Necklace actually provided debuff to the wearer! According to its description, it was a necklace made from the fangs of infected rats, which was said to carry a curse that brings sickness and decay to those who wear it.

"Why are there so many useless items being dropped nowadays?" Shane shook his head as he recalled some of the items and even elixirs that he obtained that he still couldn't find a use. Anyway, that was certainly a problem with the Complete Loot item since he could obtain useful or useless items altogether.

Shane then looked at the surroundings.

The battle had been swift, but he realized that the Zombie Rats were actually able to damage the surrounding hallway. They were definitely quite strong, but not for him.

Then, he wiped the blood from his hatchet before he continued looting the normal Zombie Rats.

[ You have earned 12 Experience Points. ]

[ Loots obtained: Item Upgrade Crystal x1, Zombie Cores x1, 100mL Zombie Rat Blood, Spirit Enhancement Bottle x1, Plague-Ridden Pelt x1 ]

As Shane checked the Pelt, he realized that it was also a terrible item to have.

The Pelt was actually infused with a contagious plague that spreads sickness and decay to those who come into contact with it. Once again, Shane had no idea where to use such an item. Nonetheless, someone might start looking for it, and perhaps he could sell in the market.

To be honest, if he actually lacked some Zombie Cores, he would certainly have plenty of random things he could sell in the Marketplace.

He then looted all the other Zombie Rats and confirmed that he all looted their Pelt. Perhaps, if it was purified, the pelts could be sold for a higher price. Some craftsmen should be interested in working on its leather.

As he was thinking of further exploring the hospital, Cloud finally completed scanning the surroundings.

[ Shane, I've located the entrance to the Underground Tunnel. It's just ahead. You can follow my guide. ]

"Nice… Since this tunnel leads to a massive horde of zombies, it's perfect for farming experience and random loot." Shane muttered as he wasn't scared at all.

According to Cloud, most of the Zombies were only Crypt Crawler Zombies, Zombie Rats, Cave Dweller Zombies, Flasher Zombies, and a few unknown Zombies… Even if there are High Tier Zombies, he wouldn't be scared at all.

"Good work, Cloud. Let's head there now."

He moved through the hospital, following Cloud's directions.

The entrance to the Underground Tunnel was hidden behind a collapsed wall. Shane squeezed through the narrow opening and found himself in a dark, damp passageway.

Shane couldn't help but think why there were trapped zombies here…

"There must be another entrance…" Shane muttered.

He just believed there could be another entrance that the Zombies used to enter this tunnel. The other reason was most likely because this was previously a shelter, but they soon got infected by the Zombie Virus.

As he entered the tunnel, he immediately used his Aura Mastery Talent to protect himself from the smell of decay! Their incredibly foul smell was definitely some form of biological attack already!

Thankfully, the Aura around his body was enough to protect him… Soon, he heard the distant moans of zombies that echoed through the tunnel.

Shane's heart pounded with excitement. This was his chance to gather valuable resources.

Just now, Cloud reported that it had detected 14 Crypt Crawlers and 20 Zombie Rats ahead!

With his hatchet at the ready and Cloud guiding him, Shane rolled two Light Orbs on the tunnel to illuminate the surroundings…

The orbs cast a bright, steady glow, revealing the terrifying forms of the Crypt Crawlers and Zombie Rats lurking in the shadows.

The Zombie Rats were the first to react, their glowing eyes fixating on Shane.

Shane didn't bother to be sneaky or use his Perfect Shadowmeld Skill against them. The enemies were too weak for him.

They charged at him in a frenzied swarm while he stood his ground, his hatchet was ready to massacre them.

As the first rat leaped at him, he swung his hatchet in a wide arc, cleaving the creature in two. He moved with practiced ease. Each swing would kill a zombie or two!

To hasten their deaths, Shane also used one of his swords that was made from the Phoenix Copper Ingot that he had obtained before.

From this ingot, Leo had actually made a sword for him! After all, the effect of this sword provides burn damage to its enemies.

[ Light Flameblade (Master Grade): Crafted from the rare and mystical Phoenix Copper, this light sword gleams with a fiery luster as if infused with the essence of the legendary phoenix. The blade is etched with intricate patterns that seem to flicker like flames when wielded.

Effects: +20% Burn Damage, +40% Critical Rate

Special Effects:

Inferno Burst: With a swing of the blade, the wielder can unleash a torrent of fire, manifesting as powerful fireballs that scorch enemies in their path. The fireballs explode on impact, engulfing the target in searing flames. Cost: 120 Spirit Points ]

Nonetheless, Shane didn't equip this sword for his left hand. Instead, he decided to use his Telekinesis Talent to wield this sword!

Although the Telekinesis talent that he recently obtained was only a Rare Grade, it was more than enough for him to lift a sword as long as it would stay around 5 meters from him!
