Shane watched intently as Dylan prepared his tools with meticulous care as he made his choice…
"You might need this new skill to kill the Giant Zombie, so let's not wait until you kill one before giving the Tattoo on you. Let's do it now…" Dylan said as he gestured for Shane to sit while he prepared the ink.
As Dylan did this, there was a sense of anticipation building within Shane.
He never had a tattoo, even in his previous life, so he was a bit curious as to how this would go.
To his surprise, there was no special apparatus or device as he had expected. Dylan's Talent seemed to be the culprit as a pen-like device appeared in his hands. Apparently, only the inks he was using weren't made of his Talent.
Anyway, Shane didn't feel any problem with that. Since his Danger Sense and Survival Instincts weren't telling him to escape, he allowed Dylan to continue.
Soon, the workshop hummed with an energy that was both calming and electrifying as Dylan's hands moved…
Shane could tell that every second, Dylan seemed to be using up his Spirit Points.
'This is really an interesting talent…' Shane mused as he watched the man work.
Dylan's expertise was evident as he selected the perfect blend of inks, each hue carefully chosen to imbue Shane's Tattoo Mark with the essence of Enhanced Senses.
The room was thick with the scent of ink and herbs, adding to the mystique of the moment.
With a steady hand and firm focus, Dylan began the process, his movements were steady.
The sound of the needle piercing skin filled the room, a rhythmic melody that was already familiar to everyone in the shelter.
As the Tattoo Mark took shape on Shane's right arm, a tingling sensation spread through his body, a subtle reminder of the power being etched into his skin.
The design itself was intricate and mesmerizing, intertwining symbols that seemed to pulse with a life of their own.
Minutes stretched into hours as Dylan worked his magic, each stroke of the needle adding depth and meaning to the Tattoo Mark.
Shane closed his eyes as he felt the mysterious energy running through his body…
He knew that it was the new Survivor Skill trying to integrate into his body, so he wanted to feel it carefully.
Finally, as the last line was drawn, a sense of calm washed over Shane. The Tattoo Mark glowed faintly, a sign that the new ability had now resided within him.
With a nod of approval, Dylan stepped back, his gaze meeting Shane's with a knowing look.
This time, however, Shane was looking at the blue screen in front of him.
[ You have obtained Enhanced Senses ( Lv 3 ). ]
[ Description: Enhanced Senses sharpen your perception and awareness, allowing you to detect hidden threats, sense danger, and uncover hidden clues with heightened accuracy. This skill grants you the ability to see in low light conditions, hear faint sounds from a distance, and pick up on subtle scents that others might miss.
Your reflexes are also improved, giving you an edge in combat situations by allowing you to react faster to incoming attacks.
Remarks: 60 days left ]
'It's indeed a temporary skill… But it's actually sixty days and not thirty like he said…' Shane mused.
"You now possess the gift of Enhanced Senses…" Dylan said, interrupting his thoughts.
"It's a passive ability, but it will get triggered if you always try to focus on your senses... Like looking through darkness, eavesdropping, or other activities…" Dylan added.
"Thank you… But why did I get 60 days duration for my Enhanced Senses?" Shane asked.
"Hahaha… That's a good joke… Alright, you can leave my room now. I'm too tired already. Making a tattoo consumes not just my Spirit Points but also my energy. I need to rest for a bit."
As Dylan said this, he gestured for Shane to leave the workshop.
Shane could only ignore the matter at hand and left the room with a helpless smile on his face.

The rain lasted for the whole day, and as they expected, more Zombies started coming to their shelter as the effect of the moss on the stone wall dissipated.
Despite that, Shane's Sentinel Mk-IV Automated Turret didn't get any action. It was simply because the zombies it had detected were too weak…
With Cloud's modification in its program, it would be able to save a lot more power as it would ignore weaker types of Zombies. After all, Cloud's database was already quite impressive, and it could identify all the weaker types of zombies.
On the next day, Shane checked his Survivor Store and purchased what he needed. There weren't any exciting items aside from the Bottle of Holy Water. It was the first time he had seen it.
[ Bottle of Holy Water: A sacred vial containing pure, blessed water imbued with divine energy. This potent elixir is known for its ability to ward off evil entities and purify the unholy. Use it wisely in your quest for righteousness.
Price: 50 Zombie Cores
Quantity: 2/2 ]
After obtaining this item, he soon heard the Automated Turret activation!

Magnus had been standing atop the stone wall ever since he heard the report of the incoming zombies… There were Jumper Zombies among them, so he was worried that they could climb up their wall, so he had to rush here and give support.
Soon, several more zombies started coming, and it was as if there was a mini Zombie Wave going on.
However, he knew that it was because of the Giant Zombie that was moving far behind them!
As he started to get worried, he heard some creaking noise nearby.
The eerie sound of the automated turret's warning klaxon pierced the air, signaling the imminent threat approaching their shelter.
In the distance, three massive Tyrant Zombies lumbered towards the shelter, their heavy footsteps shaking the ground with each stride.
Magnus's jaw clenched as he watched the towering figures draw closer, he didn't expect their appearance here… This was more terrifying than the previous Zombie Wave!
With those three, all of his elite members must work together for them to survive.
Thankfully, he soon witnessed the Automated Turret in action!
