Chapter 90: The Blood Necromancer
Chapter 90: The Blood Necromancer
The sound of her voice cut the conversation short and the two in the room turned to her. Litha didn't know what type of magic was able to trap her in a glass orb the size of a human head, but she immediately hated it.
Kaidos smirked at the orb. "You're awake, and naturally, you can't stop talking."
"Says the little shit Jael almost killed." She hissed back.
Kaidos clenched his jaws. "Master, please give her to me. I know just what to do to make her..."
"Shut it, Kaidos." The voice was gentle and calm, but it snapped like a whip, and he shut up, bowing to his master. The master was dressed in a red and white robe, he gestured and the orb flew closer to him.
Litha looked at him and she couldn't contain her shocked expression, the man she was looking at was handsome, his hair was a full red hair like the mane of some majestic beast. "Who are you?" She demanded.
Red eyes turned to her. "I am the Blood Necromancer, Kaelith." He said it as if he expected her to know the name.
Litha blinked. "Who now....?" The title sounded dreadful, and now everything was falling into place. This man was the one who made those goblins back at the zone. And the first thing she thought about was just how rich he must be.
The artifact he's been using can't be cheap and easy to get. Her brain did rough calculations; for him to ask her like that, it must mean he expected her to know him. Maybe he was once a popular figure in the Tower.
But what she asked was. "Why are you silver rank?" With all the artifacts he had been throwing around, she thought he was of higher rank.
He stepped back from her, and Litha saw the glare and smirk from Kaidos just before his master gestured. The orb hummed, and as if struck by lightning, a white-hot shock passed through it.
Litha's flinch turned to full-on pain convulsion, and she fell as all her muscles stiffened. Her eyes watered and her throat dried up, unable to speak, to cry out. All she could do was wait there and endure the pain. Read latest stories on m_v-l'e|-NovelBin.net
Finally, it passed, and she gasped, trying to pick herself up from the ground,d, but her weak body refused her order. She waited, lying on the ground that seemed to be made of ceramics.
Kaelith began speaking, looking at the glass orb without any emotion in his eyes. "So you don't know my name, a shame. I will tell you. I was once the most promising in my set a few years ago, and I hold the floors around here in a chokehold."
Litha has no choice but to listen.
"And then I came in contact with the chaos Cult, and with my abilities, I rose quickly in the cult, but then I made contact with HIM WHO FLOW AGAINST ORDER, and that was the end for me. An artificial threshold was placed on me and...."
He paused and tilted his head as if listening to something others couldn't hear. "Anyway. I need a Necromancer to break that threshold."
Litha massaged her mouth and twisted it to speak. "I can't imagine that Jael is the only Necromancer in the Tower."
"No, but others are just and more powerful than me. A clash with them might be the end of me because I can't imagine any of them voluntarily giving me their heart."
Something cold, like a fist full of ice, slid into her stomach as she heard that. "You...are planning on killing him?" Her voice was sharp like the edge of a new knife.
"Of course. He'll be my sacrifice, and I will finally be able to return to the Tower!"
Litha shivered. "You can't do that! I won't allow you to do it! How can you even think of doing that to Ja....agh!!"
She stiffened and fell again; pain rushed through her body, and her eyes rolled in its socket. The master gestured and the orb returned to the center of the room.
"Why are you so angry? I will turn him into one of my creatures afterward. He should consider it an honor."
Litha could only lay there and think about how things had gone wrong and how she knew Jael and Temur would soon rush here like idiots.

There was no news about Litha throughout that day, either from Cele or Thayer, so Jael used the rest of the day to get his strength back. With good food and rest. He's going to need all his strength when he finally has to go after Litha.
There's just one thing he was worried about – Litha's life. What's to say she won't be harmed before they get to her? What's to say Kaidos and his master won't move like that?
Honestly, the only thing that he was a bit certain about was that it was him that they needed and that Litha served as a good hook to reel him in.
The next morning, Jael sat in a lotus position and was meditating technique to get his mind ready for the day and to take in mana quickly.
He used that time to reflect on the time he spent in the Tower so far. 'The Tower is far stranger than what I thought it would be back on earth. Full with cruelty and sharp calculations always. My first impression wasn't good and even after that....'
Jael shook his head. And after that, it's been one trouble after the other, and the promised riches haven't been seen. He thought all his troubles would be over once he became a full Awakener and entered the Tower.
But the more you get the more problems get attached.
Then is there something like overwhelming power that won't have any problems in his way? Jael blinked because as he thought about that something stirred in his mind. A memory that he couldn't touch.
A flash of green eyes.
Jael finally stood and began stretching, his meditation disturbed by his thoughts. Time to face the day.
