Chapter 1971 Final Reward.
The void universe asked them, "Now what do you wish for?"
"You are free to ask anything from me, be it resources or knowledge. But you can only ask for one thing. So be careful what you ask for, as this will be the last time the void universe will reward you for anything."
The clones considered what they should ask for. There were so many options for them. Most of them were questions. But one thing kept repeating over and over in their minds. They just couldn't forget it even though their minds were confused.
So they said together, "Give us the seed of chaos."
The titanic will of the void universe asked them, "Where did you hear about that?"
They replied, "Does it matter?"
It insisted, "Yes, it does."
They asked, "Do we have to reply?"
It frowned with clear displeasure and replied, "No, you do not."
So they became silent and waited in expectation. The Will of the realm was silent for a while. Then it said, "I don't like you, Legion. Have I said that before? But it won't matter. Your antics won't matter at the end of the day."
It asked them with a calm voice, "Are you sure you want the seed of chaos? Be warned that it is a powerful and dangerous item."
This warning made them pause. They realized that they didn't know what they were doing or what they were asking for. They were literally and figuratively out of their depths. All of this might be some ploy against them. But they can't even tell up from down and left from right in this place, so they can't figure out what the scheme might be.
All they know is that they didn't want to miss out on the seed. The progenitor had repeated it with its last breath, so it must be important.
So they said, "Yes, we are sure."
"So be it. You will be granted your heart's desire."
A drop of blood materialized in front of them. It flew towards them and entered Aeternus. Aeternus became unconscious immediately. For the first time since he awakened and reincarnated, they stopped sensing his mind. What's more, his supply of Chaos energy was cut off. Fortunately, they knew he still existed and they could perceive him. The network formed by their universal artifact throughout their existence was still bound to him. They were still one and united. The void universe said impatiently, "Now be gone with you."
Their whole world warped as they were hurtled across the void universe. They slammed into the ocean beneath them and streaked across the void universe until they arrived in the Spiritual Dimension. They didn't have time to worry about the disrespect to their person because they had a lot to think about. First of all, they realized that they could think at their normal pace again. Apparently their minds had slowed down to a crawl during their communication with beings whose state of existence far outstripped theirs. That and the fact that they were out of their living environment affected them physically and mentally.
It was now that they sensed that the core of the void universe didn't possess any rules or laws. It was a barren place without order. It was why they couldn't tell up from down, left from right, without a reference point.
Without rules, distance, time, space, and gravity were all out of tune. Their existence was not used to such a strange environment, so their minds were always struggling to understand what was going on, which slowed it down. Not only had their minds slowed down, but their perception of time and their power had weakened. It was only now that they realized that they had been drowning like a fish brought out of water. This increase in their ability to think also meant that they could assist Aeternus in his evolution. They set aside their sudden realizations to assist him mentally. The most difficult hurdle in his evolution was withstanding the baptism of information. It was like a forced comprehension. He had to comprehend the information in the seed of chaos, or he would never wake up. It is a chore to do something by force, but this was one thing that they were happy to do. They would have happily done it without being forced to do so. It is because the information contained within the seed of chaos answers a lot of their questions. They learned that the seed of chaos is also called the seed of the abyss. It will turn Aeternus into a demon abyss and make him the Will of the Abyss.
For the seed of chaos to grow fully, it needs to attach itself to a world or a steady supply of chaos. It could turn Aeternus into a symbiote of a world feeding on chaos and creating chaotic creatures like demons or turn him into a predator feeding on chaos, worlds, and chaotic creatures like demons.
Aeternus chose the latter. As he was evolving into his abyss of choice, more information continued to flood his mind, demanding his attention.
This seed of chaos is also called the Blood of the Lord of Madness. They don't know who this entity is, but they know that the seed isn't truly his blood. It is just something created from his flesh. In a way, it is like a universal artifact, except that the Lord of Madness created it using his own flesh. This is something they just learned from the influx of information.
Apparently, other universal artifacts are created from the body parts of beings with Supreme laws. So universal artifacts will be able to show their power in different universes. The soul sphere was created by butchering the Aspect of Consciousness of a being with a Supreme law and turning the stripped organ into an artifact that anyone could use. The Crown of Domination was derived from an entity with the Aspect of Will in their Supreme law combined with a spark of power. It too can be used by anyone in any universe.
