Chapter 250: Hunda-Mahtar

It was something none would think he would have on him at all as it was a frankly absurd thing to have. Nick wanted to create a ring that transformed into a massive thunder atronach with the form of a armored warrior. There were a few steps he would first need to complete in order to do so but the final product would be totally worth it in his opinion. The first step of course was that he needed to create his version of an atronach forge. This part he had been planning since he bought the book on the matter over the summer.-

Unlike the original blueprint for the forge Nick's version was going to be comprised of a set of five connected but not touching rings that when activated would float above the ground and spin around and within each other like a sphere. The outside ring would serve to exclusively fuel the magical processes of the others. The next ring in the set would serve as the stabilizing agent that kept the undoubtedly massive amount of mana within the center of the formation calm and neutral. The last three rings will each take one of the three key processes of the original forge to create atronachs.-

Together these rings would create a slightly upgraded version of the original atronach forge that would allow Nick to create his Hunda-Mahtar(thundering warrior). Before he could make that however he needed to collect the necessary materials to make his atronach forge. The list of materials he chose was adamantite , star metal and mithril in large enough quantities to cover the dozen feet long and inch thick rings. The last two materials he could acquire plenty of by using his vast wealth. Star metal however was an extremely rare material that while possible to be purchased commanded a price that even made his deep pockets lighten considerably.-

There was a solution to this problem however that was very hard to fulfill under most circumstances. He needed to pull down one of the many meteors circling the planet that contained the metal without accidentally destroying a wide area. You would assume a simple momentum removal spell would work but the problem was that the faster something was moving the more mana said spell took from the wizard and meteor strikes are REALLY fast.-

Nick would barely be able to budge the thing before running out of energy entirely and then watching helplessly as it left a miles long crater in the ground and more likely than not kill him in the process. Left with little choice he could only bite the bullet and dish out a considerable amount of money to get what he needed. While he waited for that though he needed to stockpile points to purchase a small ingot of ebony. He needed the ebony to create the ring that would store away and house his giant atronach so it doesn't cause mass hysteria every time he needs it.-

To buy a jewelers ingot of ebony however took a whopping twenty thousand points which was a lot by his standard. With spatial magic wasn't so advanced that he was more likely to tear open a black hole then cross dimensions he might have tried to create a portal to the world of Nirn to steal some of the black metal for cheap. That was just the easy part too because if he somehow managed to succeed for whatever reason he then had to deal with the no less than two dozen godly beings there that would definitely take exception to his interdimensional plundering.-

'I think I'll just focus on feeding other rings to the system until I have enough while keeping an eye on Riddle.' Nick thought seriously while temporarily shelving the project till later. 'For now though I can focus on increasing my spell work to at least the seventh year level.' He decided as he placed Steve on his opposite shoulder from Dusk and standing up. Helena looked at him slightly confused but he merely smiled. "Heading to the great hall to eat breakfast , care to join?" he said cheekily and she immediately stopped writing.-

After regaining her physical body Helena had never turned down an offer of food though she had always eaten in secret to prevent news of her having a physical form from spreading. That was no longer necessary as far as Nick was concerned. In fact the exact opposite was needed since he wanted to tempt other powerful ghost's into serving him using this information. Unlocking the door to the workshop Nick paused for a moment as he felt a change in his occlumency shield. Carefully checking it he smiled as he found that it had finally solidified meaning he could finally build his second layer of protection.
