Chapter 170: 170. coward
Chapter 170: 170. coward
Back in the classroom, the second Lucius walked in, the group of alchemists stopped and looked at him. Seeing Lucius walk in carefree and smiling, looking nothing like someone who had been warned or reprimanded, Frederick's face turned ugly. He looked like he had been served a pile of dirt.
Lucius, still sensitive to his surroundings, instantly sensed Frederick's gaze and snapped,
"What are you looking at me like that for? I'll tell you this now—don't let me hear anything bad about you from Nina. In fact, just don't let me see you outside of the academy grounds, or I'll make sure you're eating out of a tube for the rest of your life."
The alchemists were completely stunned
So barbaric!
So vulgar!
After hearing such harsh and terrifying threats the alchemists quickl quickly moved away out fear Lucius could target them next
Frederick wanted to curse Lucius, but the sharp pain in his mouth from the slap earlier was still stinging, a reminder that his actions had consequences. He could only keep his head down like a scared ostrich, not daring to face him.
Seeing that Frederick didn't even dare speak back, Lucius saw no point in continuing to bully him and just scoffed before walking away with Nina to help her with her experiments.
Soon after, Diana walked in after Lucius, and that was when Frederick's face finally burst into life.
"Miss Roffisier, about that dirty peasant Lucius, I—"
But Diana didn't even let him finish and snapped,
"Get out!"
She had just dealt with a scoundrel like Lucius who kept pushing her buttons all day, and now this good-for-nothing wanted to come in and cause problems? He was lucky she didn't shoot him dead on the spot!
Frederick, seeing Diana's fierce appearance, didn't dare stay any longer and quickly ducked to the side, causing Lucius to once again sneer at his feeble appearance.
This was how to treat such spineless cowards!
Frederick could feel proud and arrogant bullying someone as submissive and shy as Nina, but when faced with a fierce opponent, the shameless scum wouldn't even dare to raise his head.
...…..
Lucius's day of community service and helping Nina quickly came to an end.
After assisting her with a few more tasks, he escorted Nina to her accommodation and then made his way back. But Lucius wasn't heading towards his dorm; he had already decided to meet up with the other leaders of the revolutionary army.
Lucius was walking through the streets of the capital toward the outer city, his mind swirling with all sorts of plans for the future when he suddenly felt something—someone was following him.
Lucius frowned but didn't show any obvious reactions. Instead, he casually turned around a corner, navigating through a few alleys, narrowly dodging his pursuer.
When he finally made his move, his body erupted with crimson scales flickering with lightning.
Whoever was following him had been completely unprepared. So, when they turned the corner, all they saw was a crimson-scaled hand grabbing them by the face and slamming them into the ground.
Boom!
"Arghh!" The cry of pain echoed, but Lucius didn't care. He flipped off the cloak to take a closer look at who could be so bold as to dare tail him. But when he did, he was met with a completely unexpected face.
"What on earth are you doing?!" cursed Lucius.
It was a beautiful woman with hair as white as snow and dazzling blue eyes like glowing sapphires—it was Diana.
Even though it was Diana, a beautiful woman and even a future heroine, Lucius's gaze didn't become any less icy.
After all, being tailed was never a good thing, and it wasn't like Lucius was a pure person either. He had secrets to hide, he was the leader of the revolutionary army, after all.
While his relationship with Diana had gotten closer, it wasn't to the level where he would reveal his rebel status. If by some chance she discovered Lucius's secret, she would send him off to the gallows, and that was if she wasn't furious enough to put an arrow in his skull herself.
Caught in the act, Diana looked like a kitten that had just been thrown into water, completely flustered and embarrassed.
She knew tailing someone was a horrible thing, but she had done it anyway. She just wanted to get a better look at Lucius and his gang activities.
After getting to know Lucius, she had mistakenly convinced herself that he was a good person deep down inside. She believed that it was only because he was attached to the gang that he displayed bad behavior.
As the head of the disciplinary committee, it was her duty to help students in situations like this and to assist them in turning a new leaf. So, she tailed Lucius to get a closer look at him during his gang activities.
The poor girl had suffered the same fate as Lucius's teacher, Selena, and had believed all the utter nonsense Lucius had been spouting about being a hero and a warrior for justice. While Lucius wasn't averse to the idea of doing good deeds, the main reason he had fought was because those bastards had annoyed him first. Lucius knew himself best.
If the two twins of the Montford family had ignored Lucius or even been a little more humble, he might have overlooked them bullying Ryan. But because they ended up mouthing off to him, their fate was sealed.
The poor Diana didn't know any of this and was believing her own elaborate hypothesis. But it was because she believed this that she didn't want to tell Lucius the truth.
In her mind, if she told Lucius her thoughts, he would only get more furious, refuse to listen, and possibly sink even further.
Instead of falling into such a predicament Diana's mind swirled as she finally found the best answer she could come up with
She would just play dumb and refuse to answer Lucius's questions altogether.
Even if he was annoyed, she felt that it would be a better outcome than if Lucius found out she was trying to get him out of the gang life
