Chapter 219 The Heir Of Pendragon [Part 1]
Chapter 219 The Heir Of Pendragon [Part 1]
Zack stood up while trembling. He rubbed his eyes to make sure that he wasn't dreaming.
"No, you are not dreaming. You are experiencing something similar to a dream." The figure standing in front of himself was none other than… himself.
The second Zack had all of his hair colors spread across his hair. His eyes were a shade of orange, blue and purple mixed together.
"You are my past self..." Zack slowly said. He pinched himself multiple times just to make sure that he wasn't dreaming.
"Yes, I am your past self." The other Zack replied with a smile. "I am the self you left behind as a message in case you ever managed to gain your memories in the future."
Hearing the other Zack's words, Zack felt his brain exploding with information.
"Ahh right, its probably better if I show you everything from the start." The other version muttered before he stepped forward.
He placed his hand on Zack's shoulder and vanished. The former felt a numbing sensation wash over his body.
His vision blackened for a few minutes. Once it returned, Zack found himself standing in a completely new place.
[ This is the place where we fought your brother, Mordred for the first time after he had been inflicted by the darkness… ] Lance said slowly.
Both of them were staring at a battlefield where ten figures stood on one side and a huge army stood on the other side.
Zack saw his past self and his friends standing along with him. He recognized all of them except a single person, a woman with long black hair and dangerous red eyes.
The black-haired boy felt like he should remember her but no matter how much pressure he put on his mind, he couldn't figure out her identity.
"Mordred, we can end this here. I will kill you and you will no longer be under the control of the darkness. There is no need for us to go through this!" Past Zack shouted.
Mordred, Zack's brother, chuckled. His eyes still had traces of amber in it and he didn't look like the dark emperor Zack and Lance had met in the heavens.
"Brother, this is the only way I can do anything. You were always the special person. You got everything you wanted and I could only stand at the sidelines and helplessly watch you." Mordred replied.
"I had a curse on me that I had to battle with! If I hadn't convinced Hemera and Nyx, I might be dead right now." Past Zack said through gritted teeth.
"Eva, my fiancée, faced so many problems and both of us almost died. Emma, the princess who ran from the moon palace had to act as a fake slave to save herself and both of us also almost died.
Mia, the spirit of Yggdrasil chose me but she risked the wrath of multiple gods and goddesses. Once again, we almost died. At last, *** was there. She helped me from the shadows and with her mastery over the dragons, she went against the heavens for me.
You still sided with Apep, the god of darkness and evil, just to tell me that I got whatever I wanted? I worked hard for this!"
Zack could feel his blood pumping after hearing the words of his past self. All of his memories returned inside his head one after the other.
Everything he had forgotten was once again present inside his mind.
"I guess my proposal was too good. Guys, its either him or us. Let's fight till the heavens crack!" Past Zack shouted and plunged into battle.
[ All of them are using their weapons and signature attacks… ] Lance murmured.
Their friends had summoned their strongest weapons and were going all out. They weren't just doing this for their friend but for the sake of the entire human race as well.
If their planet was destroyed and humanity ceased to live, all of their sacrifices would've been in vain.
Zack, however, remained quiet. He already knew the outcome of the battle and his heart ached due to it. He would experience the same thing again…
His eyes were fixed on the black-haired beauty who summoned one dragon after the other. Jason recognized her as Snowie and Gajeel's master.
The dragons that moved around her were legendary dragons who battled fiercely. None of them looked scared even though there was a chance that they could die.
Past Zack suddenly released his Pendragon powers alongside Mordred. The two of them glared at each other and plunged forward.
Their swords clashed while Zack's spear, Chastiefol, helped his friends in their fights.
The crystal sword, Eirias, glowed brightly in his hands Mordred held a similar sword in his hands.
It was called Hirias, the jewel sword. It was mostly similar to Eirias but gave its users the power to absorb things instead of reflecting the attacks.
This had a huge side effect on the person once the battle was over and they would be knocked out. However, it was still stronger than Zack's crystal sword.
This was the only benefit provided to Mordred by his father, Arthur Pendragon. The two brothers were only related due to their father's blood.
Zack and Mordred's mothers had been different yet both of them were the reason the two boys had such frightening powers.
Suddenly, past Zack stopped fighting as he felt a bad feeling. He used a full power attack and pushed Mordred back.
His eyes scanned the battlefield and landed on Eva. The red-haired beauty was trying her best to fight yet she was overwhelmed.
Perhaps it was Zack's imagination, both current and past, but a scythe hung right above her head. No sooner had she launched her next attack, the scythe moved down and swiped right through her head.
Her body hit the ground with a thud and became lifeless.
"NO!" Zack shouted as he watched his past version go berserk.
But this made him distracted. Mordred used this to his advantage and smiled.
"Farewell, Brother." Mordred raised his sword and slashed it towards past Zack. A powerful slash was released from the blade of the sword.
It had stored every single one of the attacks during the fight and was fired up with power.
Past Zack could tell that he was going to die but something strange happened at the last moment. Another figure appeared in front of him and absorbed the attack.
"Darkness can never defeat darkness, only light can…" Zack murmured.
In front of his eyes, his father's dead body hit the ground with a thud.
