Chapter 116 - Full-Dive VR Is Real
Shortly after Emperor Polemos finished instructing his subordinates, he returned his attention to Albion.
"My Lord, would you like me to arrange someone to give you a tour around Damocles while I prepare the big banquet? Or should I take you to your living quarters to rest?"
"Before that, what is the wifi password in this place?" Albion casually asked with his phone in hand before adding, "I don't have any reception here."
"What the f*ck is the wifi password?" Polemos spoke without hesitation.
Albion immediately paused for a moment.
Shortly after, he looked up at Polemos, his brows crumpled into a frown before asking with an exasperated expression, "How the f*ck would I know? Isn't that why I am asking you?"
"Err…" Polemos froze for a moment before coughing awkwardly, "Ahem, you misunderstood me, my Lord. What I meant is 'What the f*ck is the wifi password?' IS the wifi password."
"Excuse me?"
Albion was immediately taken aback with an aghasted expression.
"You're telling me that Damocles, your most important base of operation, and the only thing keeping the other three generals at bay; its f*cking wifi password is 'What the f*ck is the wifi password?'"
"Yes! That is precisely what I am saying, my Lord." Polemos admitted with a smug nod before reassuring, "I know what you are thinking, my Lord. But Damocles's security will not be compromised with our firewall system in place."
"Well… if you say so…"
Albion shrugged nonchalantly, thinking that if Damocles's security has not been breached yet, then Polemos was probably telling the truth.
After inputting the supposed wifi password, Albion immediately gained access to the internet on his phone before he was slightly speechless.
"This is some big brain tactic… I would not have guessed the wifi password was something like this—not that I could ever guess any wifi password correctly." Albion muttered before stating, "Anyway, take me to my room to rest first."
"Of course, my Lord."
Shortly after, Albion was taken to a spacious, private, and unoccupied cabin while Cao Wudi was arranged elsewhere by one of Polemos's subordinates.
"What do you think, my Lord? Are you satisfied with your room?" Polemos sought Albion's opinion on the room.
The spacious cabin was located on the first ring, which produces centrifugal force with its rotation around Damocles's main body to generate artificial gravity similar to Earth.
Inside the spacious cabin, Albion discovered it has all the essentials equipment and rooms of an apartment, making it essentially a home—but with one side being an entire screen, revealing the view outside of Damocles.
However, it was not an actual reinforced glass window but a TV screen connected with a live camera feed coming from elsewhere on Damocles.
"Very satisfied." Albion nodded.
"This space station is truly turning out to be an actual space city, huh? How many people are there on Damocles?"
"There are 30 thousand residents at present while Damocles can accommodate up to 60 thousand people, my Lord. However, we do have plans to expand Damocles further." Polemos informed.
Albion rubbed his chin with a thoughtful expression before muttering, "So each ring can accommodate 10 thousand residents while the big central ring can accommodate up to 20 thousand, huh?"
"Precisely, my Lord." Polemos nodded before asking, "Is there anything else I can assist you with before I go, my Lord?"
"Nah, that is all for—" Albion was about to wave Polemos off before he suddenly thought of something and said, "Actually, there is something you can help me with. I currently have a level 1 account on Hunter World, but I want higher access to the site. Can you do something about it?"
"Of course. This is but a simple matter, my Lord. As a level 7 user myself, I can immediately upgrade your account to level 5 right away. But if I want to upgrade your account further, I will have to contact some people."
"Level 5 access is enough for now," Albion stated calmly.
"Understood." Polemos nodded, whipping out his own phone before he asked, "What is your Hunter World ID, my Lord?"
"TheStrongestWizard."
"TheStrongestWizard?"
"TheStrongestWizard."
"I see…"
After receiving Albion's confirmation, Polemos nodded with twitched lips, thinking about how the Lord was also aware of this aspect.
Nevertheless, after he punched into a few keys, Albion's phone buzzed with a notification.
Ding!
<Your HW account details have been updated>
<HW ID: TheStrongestWizard>
<Access level: 1 -> 5>
<Affiliation: Silvercove Branch>
"Silvercove Branch? Well, whatever." Albion furrowed slightly but could be bothered by the affiliation, forgetting about it shortly after before he said, "The changes have been made. Thanks for the troubles, Polemos."
"Not at all, my Lord. It is what I should do." Polemos bowed, preparing to take his leave shortly after everything was settled.
But as Albion entered his new cabin, his eyes quickly took notice of a particular black helm by the side of the double bed, causing him to pause his steps.
"This is… is this what I think it is?!" Albion muttered with bright eyes.
After Polemos left, Albion immediately made his way to the bedside and picked up the black helmet for a quick inspection before placing it back down to surf the net for relevant information.
<Full-dive VR helmet>
Immediately, all sorts of information were revealed under the Hunter World website before Albion noticed they were all locked behind level 2 access, making him realized why he had not heard of it until now.
"It's real… Full-dive virtual reality has been realized in this world… and with 99% realism to boot. But why is all this information locked behind level 2 access?" Albion quickly wondered.
Shortly after, he found his answer.
Although full-dive virtual reality technology had been realized, it was not entirely open for access to the world.
"Official Hunters are all granted level 2 access, and only they can have access to this information and technology, huh?"
"I see… Full-dive VR is used to simulate battles with other Hunters as an alternative to allowing Hunters to compete all-out against each other whilst avoiding grievous injuries and even deaths in real life. Makes sense." Albion mumbled while reading the information on his phone.
Shortly after, his eyes quickly flickered with intense interest to experience full-dive virtual reality immediately.
