I Am A Notorious Hidden Boss In The Alternate World

Chapter 167 - Abestel Family's Ambition

Chapter 167 - Abestel Family's Ambition

In the backstage of the large auction room, the Metti group's men continued their work, arranging the valuable items in order according to the auction list.

"Oi, oi. What are you guys doing here? This place is off-limits—"

Whack!

Before a man could finish hollering at the new group of men intruding backstage, he was given a smack on the head.

"Quiet, these guys are the Abestel family's men," another person stated before turning to the Abestel family's people and asked, "May I ask what brings you here, sirs?"

"Don't mind us. We are just on patrol to make sure the auction progresses smoothly tonight. Continue with what you are doing."

"Yes, sir."

With that said, the Abestel family's subordinates continued on their way, passing the backstage before taking a strange turn to the lower floor beneath the auction room.

The Metti group's men were immediately puzzled.

"Strange. Why aren't they patroling the perimeters to look out for unwanted guests instead? Also, did they need to carry such large suitcases on their patrol?" A person raised the question.

"Whatever their reasons are, it's not our place nor our job to find out. We just need to complete the task the boss has given us well, and we will be rewarded," another person said.

"True. We are longer one of the top gangs of Silvercove city anymore. We are just the Abestel family's dog."

"But even at their dog, at least we still able to secure a spot in Silvercove city. With the influx of powerful figures and families, it difficult to stay in this city unless we cling to a bigger tree for support."

"The boss was wise."

As the Metti group's casually chatted as they worked, the Abestel family's subordinates soon arrived at the underground floor below the auction room.

"Check the perimeters."

"Yes, sir!"

The Abestel family's subordinates quickly scouted the underground space before returning back to the group leader to report.

"No signs of anyone down here, sir."

"Good!"

The group leader nodded and immediately laid down his order, "Begin the preparations immediately!"

"Yes, sir!"

The Abestel family's subordinates quickly carried their suitcases and planted them in five key locations around the underground space.

"I heard from the higher-ups that five of the top ten families suddenly bailed out on the auction. Could it be that our plans have been leaked, sir?" a subordinate asked beside the group leader.

"Oh? You're a bit behind the news. I have also heard about this, but it is not a cause for concern," the group leader stated calmly.

"Do you know something, sir?"

"Un, of course." The group leader nodded with a confident look and said, "Words have spread that those five families have received an invitation to participate in an event on Damocles."

"Such a coincidence?" The subordinate wrinkled his brows before saying, "Those five families are too blessed to have escaped the big boss's plans."

"It doesn't matter."

The group leader waved his hand nonchalantly and said, "Since the five families are heading to Damocles, they are as good as gone. The Abestel family will no longer have to consider their rivalry."

"After tonight, there will be fifteen families less to compete with our Abestel family for the hegemony of Silvercove city."

"Group leader, the items have all been planted in place."

"Got it."

After the subordinates reported their task completion, the group leader nodded and flipped out his phone to send a text message.

[The preparations are complete.]

VIP booth no.2

Ding!

Fritz Abestel's phone suddenly sounded.

After he read the text message sent by his subordinate, he placed the phone back in his pockets like nothing had happened.

"It's done?"

"It's done."

After one of his subordinates inquired, Fritz Abestel nodded before he calmly said, "Now we wait."

Nevertheless, the subordinates were not as calm as him. They could not stop their hands from tremblings, whether it was due to excitement, fear, or simply anticipation.

"After tonight, the sky will change."

"Glory to the Abestel family."

"That's enough," Fritz Abestel silenced them with a casual hand gesture, "Not another word from you two."

"Yes, boss."

The two subordinates complied.

Fritz Abestel sank into his seat with his fingers interlocked while gazing at the empty auction stage ahead with a deep look.

Once they were committed to the deed, there was no turning back.

"Inform the others to double their vigilance. There must not be a single mistake. Whether the family rises or falls will be determined tonight," Fritz Abestel ordered.

"Yes, boss."

The two subordinates complied again.

However, one of them carried a trace of doubt before they whispered, "Wouldn't it have been better if the Metti group was aware of our plans?"

"The less people know, the higher the chance of success," Fritz Abestel stated indifferently.

"But the Metti group has already submitted to us. If they are not aware of the plan, I'm afraid that their people will suffer greatly," the subordinate argued.

"It matters not. The Metti group are only pawns. There are better pawns we can use even if we lose them," Fritz Abestel stated heartlessly.

The subordinate immediately felt a chill in his heart.

VIP booth no.1

"Your popcorn and soft drinks, Young Master Albion," the waiter returned with Albion's order after having to run to the nearest cinema to buy them.

"Good job."

Albion gave the waiter a thumbs up for his efforts before taking the popcorn and soft drinks from the person.

"You may leave now."

"Yes, Young Master Albion."

The waiter took his leave from the VIP booth promptly after being excused.

Shortly after, Little Wuxin and Little Sally eyed the popcorn and soft drinks in Albion's hands with expectant gazes.

"You can't have them yet," he stated.

"Oh..."

"Oh…"

Little Wuxin and Little Sally immediately expressed their disappointment before Albion shook his head helplessly.

"Wait until the show begins."

"What kind of show, boss?" Little Wuxin asked curiously.

"You'll see."

Albion's eyes continued to flicker with a crimson glow as he observed the backstage, the adjacent booth, and the underground floor.

He had a general idea of the situation.

'Explosives, huh? Quite a dangerous game these people are playing…'

Albion rubbed his chin thoughtfully while sweeping his gaze around casually.

"Oh?"

His gaze paused.

"Seems like another party also wants to join the fray," Albion muttered while looking outside of the auction house.
