Chapter 142: Body Resurgence—Level 10!

Six months had spanned past after the trip to the Kuvert Dungeon. Currently, a couple of men carried a large crate, bringing it towards a cave while wearing gas masks.

They arrived at the place, placed the crate near something that resembled a mound and scurried out immediately. Violent winds were generated within the cave once they left as a hand stretched forth, gently using a finger to open the crate before lifting it.

The crate was tilted down as tiny pellets gushed out from it. Each pellet resembled a viscous piece of oily fat that had been compressed to the limit before being dried. They glistened with the ambient light before entering the pitch-black organ that resembled a cave.

They soon vanished into nothingness. Once the crate’s contents were downed, the entity flicked the crate out of the entrance, hearing the sound of it being shattered all of a sudden. Followed by it were the sounds of footsteps before a lady entered the cave.

She too was wearing a gas mask. Otherwise, the stench in the place was enough to knock her unconscious instantly. It was already on the level of a biochemical hazard.

She gazed at the blob of flesh before her, speaking telepathically, “I feel like this would be enough.”

“Indeed,” A voice suffused with laziness resounded through telepathy, “I’ve stuffed myself to the brim with those energy pellets you provided. Now, I only need to swallow some Darble powder and all preparations would be complete.”

The lady was Hekatra, and the one she was speaking with was Compass Carburettor. For the past six months, all he did was eat his fill and meditate all along, increasing his understanding of Darlac.

The energy pellets he consumed daily was a special ration created by the Great Megwest Empire. And, it was something that could only be produced by a fish species native to the Mohart Dungeon.

A millennia ago, the Great Emperor of that time thought of a method to create portable rations that would allow Warriors and Puppeteers on missions to quickly replenish their Darlac reserves. After all, even the most sumptuous of meals won’t net more than 40-50 Darlac.

And the body needed time to digest them all. So, carrying food with them was not only burdensome but also wasn’t efficient.

So, to combat that, he enacted a plan. And, that was to select the most resilient fish type Dungeon Monster. The one they selected was a fish that spanned two metres in length, sporting bulbous eyes and a curved horn that poked into one of its eyes, blinding it on one side.

It was how every fish of this species existed. And, there was one special characteristic of this fish species. It was that they gave birth every single day. And every time, they laid around 10 eggs.

The eggs were tiny, only spanning less than a centimetre in diameter, translucent in appearance. And, unless met with the right conditions, these eggs remain as is for numerous years without hatching.

Using that, they began to modify the fish species, using its resilient nature to their advantage by feeding it powdered Darble daily. Countless fishes were killed in this experiment. But over time, their resilient nature caused some to survive, which later kickstarted a slightly modified species.

All it did was increase the nutritional value of the laid eggs. And, the birthed fishes would grow to be stronger. It was beneficial for them. But, the goal was the eggs all along. As they were tiny, the energy compressed into them to suit birth was a tremendous amount.

Adding onto the change produced by feeding them Darble powder, they contained a tremendous reserve of energy.

The people in charge would collect the eggs every day and dry them, preventing them from hatching. With that, the energy pellets were ready. On average, ingesting an energy pellet replenished around one Darlac.

And, they could be digested within 20-30 minutes. So, they proved to be a valuable resource that the Great Empire stored to be used in times of need.

And now, Compass Carburettor had only been consuming them for the past six months in his Haggon form. And as he was only meditating, he barely used up any energy. It was not to mention that he hadn’t taken a sh*t even once all along.

His Haggon body had become bloated over time, looking on the verge of collapse. And now, he slowly moved his tremendously heavy hand, barely opening a jar placed nearby. Filled to the brim in it was Darble that had been powdered.

It did take a lot of effort to do that, but for the Haggons, it was a rather fun activity.

Compass Carburettor opened his mouth and poured all the Darble powder in his mouth, also downing some water that he had placed in a nearby jar, feeling that he was feeling full until his throat.

‘Now, the time of action!’ He thought, condensing a Skill into a bullet before replacing it with one of the bullets in his Anthozoa. Once he manifested the gun, Hekatra picked it up from the ground. After all, he wasn’t able to wield something as tiny as it in his current form.

“Ready?” Hekatra asked, taking a shot the moment he replied through telepathy.

Body Resurgence—Level 10!

Compass Carburettor immediately felt as if he was on fire. Thankfully, a Haggon’s nerves allowed him to tolerate such levels of pain without a problem. Had it been in his human form though, the pain sensitivity would have caused him to lose consciousness.

A Haggon’s sensitivity to pain was very less. And, that worked in his favour as Compass Carburettor noticed the size of his body reducing at a visible rate. The higher the Skill level, the greater its potency and efficiency of function.

Moreover, unlike the System Fragment he used on Duchess, the one he used now comprised of the entirety of the Skill obtained by the Slave Harem System. The potency was on a whole other level.

For the next one month, he was constantly in such a state of pain. Though, it only felt like he had a fever. It was within tolerable extents.

“It’s…done!” After a month of suffering, he grinned, noticing that his Haggon form was thin now, like he had starved himself. But, he could immediately notice the difference in his flesh that seemed to have become tougher while his skin had more toughness and elasticity to it.

His horns also became tougher and sharper while his stature increased to a height of six metres. He became a lot stronger. And best of all was the explosive increase in his Darlac reserves.

[Darlac: 5011]
