Chapter 415: 415: Transmission Array

In everyone’s eyes, the ground was etched with a gigantic Magic Array. Its complex patterns left Song Jian dizzy after a mere two seconds of observation. The Magic Array radiated a surge of magic power akin to a tidal wave. If a mage were to cultivate in such an environment, their speed would likely double.

At the five corners of the Magic Array, there were five inconspicuous keyholes. Song Jian stared at them for a moment before saying to Wang Qi, “Align the colors and insert the five keys you’ve obtained into the keyholes at each corner.”

“Keyholes? Oh, there really is a keyhole. It’s so small and yet, Brother Song could still spot it. Impressive indeed.” After a careful look, Tang Rong indeed spotted a keyhole on the ground about the size of a finger. Compared to the Magic Array, the keyhole’s size was akin to that of an ant beside an elephant— insignificant.

Wang Qi distributed the keys among the five members in Song Jian’s team. Each key corresponded to a different colored corner on the Magic Array.

Soon, all five of them positioned themselves at the corners of the Magic Array, and inserted their respective keys.

As the keys were inserted, a sudden suction effect firmly held the keys in place. No matter how they tried to twist or pull, the keys wouldn’t budge, as if they were originally part of the Magic Array.

“Brother Song,” Wang Qi began, but before he could finish, the Magic Array suddenly radiated a stronger force of magic power. This power, tangible as a substance, enveloped all five of them, making them as immobile as bugs trapped in amber—incapable of even moving a finger.

WHOOSH-

A stronger light suddenly bloomed from the Magic Array. It was so bright that the team was forced to shut their eyes. When Song Jian opened his eyes again, all five of them found themselves teleported to a cave.

“Damn, that Magic Array was a Transmission Array!” Song Jian had a sudden realization only now.

System: You discovered a hidden area, the Lost Land. You gained 10,000 experience points.

“The Lost Land, so this is where the Realms indicated by those five keys were.” Song Jian thought to himself, “How are we supposed to get out of here?”

As Song Jian looked around, he noticed that Wang Qi and the others seemed to have blacked out from the teleportation. They were lying motionless on the ground. The cave was only about twenty to thirty square meters in space—quite narrow—and to Song Jian’s left was a hallway emitting a faint light.

After a glance at Wang Qi and the others, Song Jian deduced that they were just temporarily unconscious and would wake up soon. The cave, although constrictive, was safe as there were no creatures lurking. So, temporarily, it was safe to stay here a while longer.

Song Jian got up to his feet and walked over to the faintly illuminated corridor.

Piercing into the hallway, Song Jian found himself spellbound by the sight that lay before him: the walls were studded with gems of ores radiating a rainbow of light.

“These are all rich ores!” Song Jian couldn’t help but exclaim, his face a picture of delight. He rapidly took out his “Miner’s Gloves” from his bag and, using the Mining Skill, started excavating.

Song Jian’s Mining Skill had reached Level 4. In regular mines, he usually needed three to five minutes to excavate usable ores. But now, in this near-raw mineral corridor, he had netted a piece of Red Blood Ore in less than a minute’s work.

After a frenzied digging for about 10 minutes, Song Jian’s bag was filled with seven to eight slots of various ores. Upon looking at the never-ending corridor, he finally calmed down, sighing with relief. He knew he had no way to mine all the ores in the corridor in a short span of time.

“I’ll mark this place and come back when I get a chance.” Song Jian thought to himself.

Song Jian’s position was untraceable on the novice map, but on his mission map, his current location and mission target could be clearly seen.

Upon opening his mission tab, on the mini e-map for missions, Song Jian’s current coordinates surprisingly overlapped with the target area for the “Search for the Book of the Abyss” mission.

“What!? Could this be the place where those trolls dwell?” Song Jian was struck by surprise. He quickly put away his mining gloves and cautiously proceeded down the corridor.

Song Jian walked along the winding corridor for more than five hundred meters before he finally reached its end, which appeared to connect to the cellar of an underground winery.

Barrels of wine, each as wide as three men, were horizontally arranged on the wine racks. Even from a dozen meters away from the corridor’s end, Song Jian could already smell the pungent aroma of wine wafting towards him.

Soft chants emanated from the winery, as if someone was reciting conjurations or hymns. Their strange language pulsated into his ears, producing a headache and feelings of distress. Soon, his mind went blank, and he found himself involuntarily wanting to join in the chanting.

However, a refreshing sensation quickly took over Song Jian’s mind, extinguishing the ill effects. Suddenly, the voices in his ears no longer held the same magical power as before.

“Abyssal Language!” Song Jian exclaimed.

It seemed only the Abyssal Language had the power to cause a person to unconsciously spiral into degeneration simply by listening to it. It really made Song Jian grateful that Wang Qi and the others were still unconscious. Had they been awake and accompanied him here, they could’ve easily been bewildered by the Abyssal Language.

Song Jian sprang forward into the winery cellar, and to his surprise, in the center of the large open space were five trolls who had constructed a small altar. At the altar, they worshipped the Book of the Abyss.

The Book of the Abyss was slightly open, with tendrils of black flame intermittently rising from it. However, the black flame was too weak to coalesce and form into the Abyssal Demon Flame that could open the Abyssal Gate.

The five trolls knelt devoutly beneath the altar, continually reciting the Abyssal Spell. Their Power of Faith materialized into a sustenance, constantly feeding into the Book of the Abyss, bolstering the fragile Abyssal Flames.

Song Jian raised his right hand and executed the Blood Pool Summoning Skill. In an instant, a pack of robust red wolves appeared beside him. After summoning thirty blood wolves, he also summoned the Black Dragon hatchling.

“Kill them!” Song Jian pointed at the five trolls and commanded.

With the sound of a roar, the thirty blood wolves charged towards the trolls like arrows in flight.

“Intruder!” Duo Sa tossed his head back, two crimson eyes blazing brilliantly. With a ferocious expression, he stood up, snatched a Bone Wolf Fang Staff, leaped into the air, and smashed downward at the incoming wolves.
