Chapter 210: Gaining Their Consent
In the evening, the sun hung low in the sky. Qiu Xingyu stood on tiptoe and leaned against the window sill to look out.
Jin Yang lifted her up and saw the hammock and toys in the courtyard. He asked in a low voice, “Do you want to go out and play?”
Qiu Xingyu smiled joyfully.
Jin Yang turned around and asked Qiu Xingyuan and Qiu Xingqiao. They decisively and coldly rejected him.
Qiu Xingyu met their gazes and pouted as she lowered her head. She discreetly tugged at Jin Yang’s sleeve and gestured at her brothers.
Jin Yang understood what she wanted and deliberately raised his voice. “Then I’ll bring Little Yu out to play alone…”
“It’s just that when a little girl goes out to play with a stranger. It’s best if your family can be by your side to protect you. Otherwise, it won’t be good if bad guys kidnap you.”
Jin Yang adjusted his tone to mimic how the teacher spoke in the parenting videos.
Qiu Xingyuan and Qiu Xingqiao’s faces darkened, but when they saw Little Yu’s expectant eyes, they could only swallow their words.
They changed into sportswear and waited at the door. “Hurry up.” They urged impatiently.
Jin Yang secretly high-fived Little Yu, a victorious smile on his face.
In the courtyard, Jin Yang helped Little Yu tie the hammock properly. He also thoughtfully adjusted the height of Qiu Xingqiao’s sandbags and other exercise equipment.
In the afterglow of the setting sun, Jin Yang accompanied the three children as they ran around the lawn.
Children from the villa district passed by their house and looked at the Qiu siblings with envy. They asked their own fathers, “Daddy, when can you play with me?”
Qiu Xingqiao was playing when he heard this. He stopped what he was doing.
In the past, they had also stood outside the houses of other families, envious that other children could have their parents’ company and a harmonious family.
Suspicion and uncertainty hid in the depths of Qiu Xingyuan’s pitch-black eyes. He stared at Jin Yang’s back profile and quietly closed his fists in thought.
At night, Jin Yang brought the children back indoors.
Qiu Xingyuan stopped him and pointed to the room. “Can we talk?”
Jin Yang was stunned. The boy in front of him sounded as steady as an adult, even though his face was clearly that of a child.
There was a sharp ache in his heart. He nodded and followed Qiu Xingyuan into the room.
There were various laboratory test tubes and chemistry books on the desk, and the single bed was neat and clean.
Qiu Xingyuan stared at Jin Yang. “Our mother and us are not tools to be used.”
“If you want to take revenge on Song Yan through us, you better give up on this idea. We won’t let you manipulate us!”
Qiu Xingyuan displayed obvious hostility. Jin Yang sat on the bench. He did not put on the airs of an adult. Instead, he treated the boy in front of him as an equal. “I never thought of using her or you children. I really want to take care of you.”
“You can choose not to believe it, but I will use my own way to make you understand that I have no ill intentions towards you.”
Jin Yang said with sincerity. Qiu Xingyuan lowered his eyes and asked in a gloomy voice, “Can you promise to always take care of her and protect her?”
The atmosphere in the room was quiet. Jin Yang smiled and raised one hand in a solemn gesture. He swore. “I promise.”
“Then… I agree.”
After Qiu Xingyuan said that, the door was pushed open from the outside. Qiu Xingyu threw herself into Jin Yang’s arms excitedly, a wide grin on her face.
Qiu Xingqiao touched the tip of his nose awkwardly. Faced with Qiu Xingyuan’s probing glare, he explained weakly, “Little Yu insisted on eavesdropping. I had no choice…”
Qiu Xingyu suddenly thought of Qiu Tong, who had been hiding upstairs all day long. She hurriedly held Jin Yang’s hand and ran to the second floor.
Qiu Tong heard the commotion and was about to go out to check on the situation when she bumped into Jin Yang.
Qiu Xingyu pushed him into Qiu Tong’s room. She covered her mouth and chuckled. “Uncle, stay in the villa tonight!”
Jin Yang and Qiu Tong didn’t even have time to react before the door slammed shut from the outside.
By the time Qiu Tong guessed what Little Yu was doing and wanted to turn the door handle, it was already too late.
She and Jin Yang looked at each other and heard Little Yu shouting outside, “Little Yu will open the door for Mommy and Uncle tomorrow!”
Where did they learn all these tricks?
Qiu Tong coughed lightly and looked at Jin Yang. She pointed at the window and asked, “Why don’t you jump down?”
“The second floor isn’t too high.”
The bathroom mirror was misted over. Qiu Tong was wearing a silk negligee with a deep V neckline, highlighting the curves of her good figure. Her wet hair hung on her shoulders and water dripped onto her neck, making Jin Yang’s throat feel dry. He shifted his gaze and said, “I can sleep on the floor.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t do anything.”
Jin Yang’s words sounded superfluous and weird. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he steeled himself for Qiu Tong to chase him out.
However, Qiu Tong just shrugged and opened the wardrobe. She took out a thin blanket and pillow and stuffed them into Jin Yang’s arms. “Sorry for the inconvenience, Mr. President.”
Jin Yang was a little stung by her way of addressing him. “We’ll settle the marriage procedures tomorrow. We should not delay any longer in case anything happens.”
With her back facing him, Qiu Tong stopped what she was doing for two seconds. She sorted through the necessary documents and nodded in agreement. “Alright.”
