Chapter 302: The Victim Count Of The Plasma Terrors
Chapter 302: The Victim Count Of The Plasma Terrors
.....
After a few minutes of ceaselessly following the trail of Plasma Terrors, Azmodeus ultimately found himself inside District F-9050.
Step. Step.
A crimson-haired man walked through the desolate streets of what should've been an extremely lively cyberpunk city.
"At this time of night, there would normally be people all over the place. Playing and meandering through their days, they would number in the billions…"
Azmodeus inspected the empty streets and felt that this place was a little bit different than the state of District F-9049. After all, this place had no dried-up corpses nor Plasma Terrors.
All that remained inside the once prosperous District F-9050 was an overwhelming silence, as well as the looming feeling that one could fall over dead at any given moment…
"This place… It's quite eerie. It almost feels like there are eyes in the walls and sky, watching every movement that I make…"
Azmodeus didn't know what to make of this place from the perspective of a mortal. But the one thing that he did know was that District F-9050 was hella creepy!
"Fuck, I really don't want to stay in this shithole a single second longer. But for the sake of better comprehending the essence of both a mortal and a god, this experience is necessary."
With the extremely active emotion and reactive receptors put on full power, Azmodeus felt a great many things that he was previously incapable of feeling.
One of those things just so happened to be the sense of unnerve that permeated his mood as he walked around the dimly lit streets of District F-9050.
Wearing a neat English-style detective getup, Azmodeus almost looked like the epitome of professionalism. But, without any people to witness his awesomeness, what was even the point of any of it!?
"Maybe I should just fly up and-"
"Craaa!!!"
A nightmare bird-like creature suddenly jumped out from a lingering shadow, lunging for the human's throat!
Little did it know that its prey was neither human nor was he weak…
SLASH!
SPURT!
Azmodeus lightly tapped the handle of Excalibur. During that split second, he took it out of its scabbard and splattered the creature against a wall.
However, due to the shock he felt when it suddenly appeared, he may or may not have accidentally decimated a good chunk of District F-9050…
"Well, oops…"
Azmodeus looked at the fan-shaped destruction that spread out for many miles…
While wondering how one man could be so strong, a few jittery shadow creatures shuddered in fright.
"W-What the hell is that creature!? He killed Shadorn in a single strike! Shadorn was as powerful as a Late Alpha Realm Expert!"
"I have no clue what the hell that thing is, but we must immediately report this occurrence back to the boss!"
Following a very brief and shaky conversation, more than 20 Shadow creatures vanished from view.
-
Meanwhile, back on the Pro Detective's side.
"Hmm… From the memories of this weird thing, it would seem that a boss even stronger than the Late Alpha Realm is lurking around these parts. And from what I can discern from its scattered mind, this final boss is most definitely deeply connected with something very large."
Piang!
Azmodeus threw away a funny-looking slitted eyeball that used to belong to a sixteen-legged nightmare creature.
Thereafter, he walked toward the center of District F-9050.
To be exact, he headed for an extremely large floating skyscraper. With its size grandiose and imposing, its wide foundation made for the perfect thing to accentuate its many glass windows and overhanging metallic protrusions.
"All in all, this place looks like some serious business-type bullsh*t!"
But regardless of how the place looked, Azmodeus leaped up into the air and grabbed onto a ledge of the building's foundation. After which, he climbed up and landed on a sleek quartz surface.
Following these concise and sophisticated movements, Azmodeus walked up a long and stretching fleet of marble stairs.
Surprising him greatly, the place was extremely clean. In fact, it was so clean that one might think themselves to be in a very realistic dream—one filled with nothing but the fantasy of every person with OCD.
In spite of that information, Azmodeus only briefly noted it down before resuming his ascent up the flight of stairs.
After finally making it to the top of what could be considered the floating tower's foundation, the pro-detective scanned his area.
However, upon finding nothing but a singular door surrounded by countless windows, a confused gleam passed by his gaze. Then, with slow steps, he walked up to the person-sized door and passed through the other side.
Entering the mysterious tower, Azmodeus immediately found out something quite intriguing…
"Hmm… So, this is where all the people in District F-9050 wound up being transported. Umu, it is definitely the perfect spot to store your nuts for winter." He appreciated the sight of hundreds of mountains of dried up husks. Then, with a few light taps against the ground, he jumped up the closest mountain of bodies.
FWIP!
After flash-stepping up to the top of a mountain of corpses, Azmodeus received a broader view of the interior of the 'Floating Tower of Horrors'.
That was what he termed this eerie place, and he found it to be quite fitting.
However, it wasn't the name that truly instilled a sense of fear within any living beings that witnessed the inside of the tower. Instead, it was the sight of countless dried-up husk mountains extending out for as far as the eye could see.
"Ha… This makes it abundantly clear that it wasn't merely District F-9050 and F-9049 that were the victims of those Plasma Terrors… This whole fucking tower has to be filled with the citizens of at least 10 thousand different Districts, and it doesn't seem like the number is slowing down…"
Even with Azmodeus's Divine Sense at the limit of the Alpha Realm for this little expedition, he could see no end to the mountains of husks…
Just as he was going to take all the corpses into his storage ring and force the big boss out through a little lure, a flash of light suddenly emerged from the north.
